Shaylyn Hynes is the press secretary for the Department of Energy and Secretary Rick Perry, previously communications director of Ted Poe.

Brian Hart announced Friday he is the new director of the office of media relations at the Federal Communications Commission. He previously worked as communications director for Sen. Roy Blunt, R-Mo.

It’s National Burger Month

May is National Burger Month. To celebrate, nopa Kitchen + Bar (800 F St. NW) is expanding its burger selection. Try the new NoPa Burger with Roseda Farms angus beef, pimento cheese, bacon jam, and Kewpie aioli, or the restaurant’s other new inventive burgers. Prices range from $14 to $16.

The Congressional Vegetarian Staff Association, The Good Food Institute, and Beyond Meat hosted a Beyond Burger event for staffers to try vegan options. It was a standing room only event and Rep. Brendan Boyle, among others, spoke. Check out more information.
