Senate Majority PAC will announce Thursday that Stephanie Potter will be executive director for the 2016 cycle, and also will release its senior staff roster.
Potter, who was political operations director there last cycle, will be joined by a number of Democratic operatives who worked in 2014 at the super PAC, which spends tens of millions of dollars backing Democratic senators and candidates.
Rebecca Lambe, Susan McCue and J.B. Poersch will all continue serving as senior advisers and members of the PAC's executive board, according to a release provided first to CQ Roll Call.
All three are top Democratic operatives with ties to Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev. Lambe is a former top strategist to Reid's 2010 campaign, while McCue is a co-founder of the PAC and one of Reid's closest confidants. Poersch, also a co-founder of Senate Majority PAC, served as executive director of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee from 2005 through 2010.
Also staying at the PAC is Karyn Brockman, who will serve as finance director. Peggy Yang will keep her role as research and communications adviser.
Two new faces at the PAC are Sean Kennedy and Shripal Shah.
Kennedy, who was research director for Wisconsin Democratic Sen. Tammy Baldwin in 2012, will be the PAC's research director. Shah, who was communications director and later deputy campaign manager for Sen. Jeanne Shaheen's successful 2014 re-election bid in New Hampshire, will serve as the PAC's communications director.
“Our 2016 team is made up of some of the best operatives in the business, each with experience winning tough Senate races,” Potter said in a release. “We're gearing up to run effective, hard-hitting campaigns across the country to hold Republicans accountable for the right-wing special interest agenda they are pushing in Congress."
