Bummer on Capitol Hill: Seven Arrested at 4/20 Event

Seven people at a pro-marijuana legalization event outside the Dirksen Office Building were arrested on Thursday, three on possession with intent to distribute and four with possession. The event participants were giving out free joints to congressional staffers and believed they were on D.C. land where possession of marijuana is legal. $55,000 debt and four years as a fugutive still a mystery

Civil rights activist and former D.C. Del. Walter E. Fauntroy was released from jail, but the full story of the mysterious debt that spurred his arrest after four years as an international fugitive have yet to come to light.  

The 83-year-old beamed as he shook an officer's hand and walked away from the Loudoun Detention Center in Virginia on Tuesday and into the arms of his wife Dorothy, to a smattering of applause, according to footage broadcast on WUSA9 News. Later in the day he posed for photographs with family and friends outside his Northwest D.C. home.

A Capitol Police officer and his wife were arrested in their Maryland home on Wednesday and accused of harboring a fugitive wanted on felony drug charges in Nashville.  

Daryl E. Banks and his wife Dana L. Banks, both 44, were arrested at their home in Monrovia after Nashville police alerted Frederick County sheriff's deputies that the wanted man was staying at the couple's home, according to the sheriff's office .
