Rep. Mo Brooks announced on the House floor on Wednesday that he has been diagnosed with high-risk prostate cancer.

McCain: ‘I Have Seen Jeff Flake Stand Up For What He Believes In’

Sen. John McCain paid tribute to his fellow Arizona Republican and “dear friend” Sen. Jeff Flake on the Senate floor Tuesday afternoon, shortly after Flake announced he would not be running for re-election.

“I have seen Jeff Flake stand up for what he believes in, knowing full well that there would be a political price to pay,” McCain said.

McConnell Announces Former Sen. Pete Domenici’s Death on Senate Floor

Former Sen. Pete Domenici died Wednesday morning at age 85, which Majority Leader Mitch McConnell announced to the Senate chamber.

“He had a long and notable career,” McConnell said. “One that took him from pitching on the baseball diamond, to teaching mathematics at an Albuquerque junior high school, from city politics to the U.S. Senate.”
