Records Show Connections to New Republican Leaders

The campaign finance records of the newly elected House Majority Leader and Majority Whip provide a wealth of data on who already has connections into the two new leaders.  

Rep. Kevin McCarthy , R-Calif., has raised over $12.5 million in campaign funds for his principal campaign committee since 2006. The $4.9 million in contributions from individuals is easily searchable by donor name, employer, state, or date, on McCarthy's multi-year financial profile  with a subscription  to Political MoneyLine's databases.  

Newest Member of Congress Joins Washington Money Circuit, Starts PAC

The newest member of Congress, after only 60 days in office, has started a new federal PAC to raise funds, in addition to his regular campaign committee.  

Rep. David Jolly , R-Fla., who was sworn in on March 13th, has registered  Seagrass PAC with the Federal Election Commission. The PAC is based in Tampa, Florida, with Nancy Watkins of Robert Watkins Co., handling the duties as treasurer.  

Bradley Byrne Quick to Put His Hand Out

After only 70 days in Congress, a freshman Congressman registers a new leadership PAC to collect funds from individuals and interest groups.  

Rep. Bradley Byrne,  R-Ala, who was sworn in on January 8, 2014, has registered  Byrne PAC with the Federal Election Commission, and indicated it was his leadership PAC. The treasurer is J. Ashley Newman in Montgomery, Alabama.
