Boehner's Office Has Spent $100K Since Retirement
Former speaker keeps space on Hill, allowed by House protocol

Former Speaker John A. Boehner may be busy commenting on the state of politics while far away from Washington, but the Ohio Republican hasn’t completely closed up shop on Capitol Hill.  

The speaker’s post-retirement office spent nearly $100,000 from the time he left Congress last fall through the end of March, according to data from the Chief Administrative Officer of the House .

Clean Up Continues in Longworth Lead Paint Incident

All eight employees who were exposed to lead paint dust in the Longworth House Office Building cafeteria were treated and released from local hospitals,  a spokesman for Sodexo, the food service vendor that employs them, said Tuesday.  

Laboratory tests over the weekend confirmed lead dust was in the kitchen area of the cafeteria Friday morning but no food was contaminated, according to the Architect of the Capitol. The cafeteria remains closed Tuesday as cleanup efforts continue.
