Chamber of Commerce Spends $5.2 Million on Ads

The Chamber of Commerce of the U.S . reported it spent $5.2 million last week on political advertisements for the 2014 elections. The Chamber identified how they sent the funds but did not report which corporations or donors provided the funds.  

The Chamber reported it paid $1,100,000 to Something Else Strategies as independent expenditures for TV and digital ads to run from May 7-31, supporting Senate candidate Rep. Cory Gardner , R-Colo.  

NEA Adds $5 Million to Advocacy Fund

A teachers union has contributed $5 million of its members' money to its super PAC for making independent expenditures, and spending on state and local elections.  

The NEA Advocacy Fund,  a super PAC, reported it received $5 million from the National Education Association  during the last six months of 2013. The NEA gave $1 million on 8/27, $730,000 on 9/26, and $3,270,000 on 10/1.
