Former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani said he wouldn't debate a second time if he were Donald Trump unless there were asignificant changes made.

"If I were Donald Trump, I wouldn't participate in another debate unless I was promised that a journalist would act like a journalist and not an incorrect, ignorant fact-checker," the former Republican presidential candidate told reporters after the debate.

Giuliani Makes Good on Long-held Grudge Against Crist

Rudy Giuliani never forgets.

The onetime mafia prosecutor told a newspaper columnist Monday that he still blames former Florida Gov. Charlie Crist for his dashed presidential ambitions in 2008 — because, Giuliani maintains, Crist didn't keep a promise to endorse him.

Republicans Go to the Mat to Take Down Clinton

PHILADELPHIA — Any doubts that Republicans would swing hard at Hillary Clinton could be dispelled by the Republican National Committee’s choice of venue for its counterprogramming here during the Democratic National Convention: 2300 Arena, an old bingo hall formerly the home of professional wrestling’s ECW, a violent, upstart rival to the more mainstream WWE.

Taking the stage to the sounds of “Disco Inferno” by The Trammps, GOP surrogates on Thursday went through their talking points savaging the Democratic presidential standard-bearer on a stage draped with American flags and underneath banners for wrestlers in the “Hardcore Hall of Fame” like 2 Cold Scorpio, Tommy Dreamer and Blue Meanie.

Trump's Coronation Challenges Republican Speechwriters
No one can meet the exacting standards the candidate has set for himself

CLEVELAND — What do you give to the man who has everything? Or in Donald Trump's case at this convention — how do you praise a man who floats through life in the warm glow of sublime self-love? How do you glorify a man who is so boastful that merely calling him a "great leader" would sound like a parsimonious plaudit?

The challenge is daunting this week for Republican speechwriters. Some Republican leaders have tried minimalism as they barely acknowledge the existence of the GOP nominee. Paul Ryan on Tuesday night limited himself to just two mentions of the T-word with such exuberant lines as "Only with Donald Trump and Mike Pence do we have a chance at a better way."

Trump Surrogates Promise Global Wins But Scant Policy Specifics
Fired Army general calls for Clinton to 'leave this race now'

Hawkish lawmakers and former military officials skewered Hillary Clinton and President Barack Obama Monday night, painting them as weak and incompetent. Under Donald Trump , they promised, America would pile up foreign policy wins — but their fiery remarks were thin on just how the billionaire businessman would do that.

They came to a massive stage in Cleveland and promised Trump’s administration would bring “unconditional victory” against violent Islamic extremist groups, vowed that he would always use the term “radical Islamic terrorism,” and win wars rather than seek to end them.
