In the state House, Kosmas became known as a moderate who worked with Republicans on education, children’s issues and balancing budgets.
Kosmas supports pay-as-you-go budget rules and has said she will work to “rein in wasteful spending and ensure accountability.” She opposed tax increases in the Florida Legislature and supports a tax cut for the middle class.
She also supports large-scale infrastructure investments as a way to stimulate the economy.
Kosmas advocates for Democratic priorities such as universal health care and alternative energy; she opposed the invasion of Iraq in 2003 and now calls for a “responsible redeployment strategy” that will bring troops back home “as soon as possible.”

Since her district includes the Kennedy Space Center, Kosmas could be a good fit for the Science and Technology Committee. She says she will fight to fully fund NASA’s requests.
As NASA works to phase out its shuttles and build a new fleet, Kosmas wants to focus on making the transition “as safe and seamless as possible,” she says on her campaign Web site.
She has strongly supported including alternative energy and technological research among NASA’s spaceflight initiatives.
In her campaign, Kosmas pledged to support greater transparency and openness in the legislative process if elected. A past association with lobbyist Jack Abramoff had hobbled Feeney.

Comments
I understand why someone representing a NASA district has to support full funding of it, but I believe much money is wasted on space games that could be better used elsewhere. Still, it's clear that Kosmas is a big improvement over Feeney and I wish her well.
