Clinton Diehards Want Convention Vote
By Shawn Zeller, CQ Staff
She may have given up, but a few of Hillary Rodham Clinton ’s people haven’t.
The senator from New York is said to be negotiating a respectful presence followed by a graceful exit from next month’s Democratic convention, and last week the party announced that Barack Obama would formally accept the party’s nomination in the stadium built for the Denver Broncos. But there are Clinton supporters clinging to the hope that if her name is placed in nomination and the roll call of the states is conducted, she might — might — still win.

Heidi Li Feldman, a Georgetown University law professor, insists there’s still “no way of predicting” the outcome should there be a fair vote. That’s because Obama has not secured enough pledged delegates to ensure the magic number of 2,118 needed to claim victory; the Illinois senator has gone past that benchmark only with the pledges of about 390 superdelegates — and they can change their minds at any time up to the moment they cast their ballots.
“If they had a meaningful vote, I have no idea who would win,” Feldman says. “But I know that if Sen. Obama were sure he would win, there wouldn’t be a negotiation” about Clinton’s role at the convention.
So Feldman, who says she has raised about $100,000 for Clinton, has turned her prowess to raising money for advertising demanding a convention vote, and she has teamed with a fellow pro-Clinton blogger, Marc Rubin, to form the Denver Group to lobby the Democratic National Committee, much of the staff of which has already moved from Washington to Chicago to work for Obama.
Feldman says she won’t vote for Obama if Clinton doesn’t get a convention vote. Rubin says he might not. Both say they aren’t worried that their efforts will continue to divide Democrats at a time when they should be uniting to take on Republican Sen. John McCain of Arizona. In fact, they argue, many Democrats might stay home if they feel Clinton gets short shrift.
“What they have to do is make it possible for people to say to themselves that there was a fair and correct process,” Feldman says.

This is so correct. It is her right to have vote, if mr barack is truly the democratic party's choice then he has nothing to worry about. However it seems the obama camp is worried they are busy trying to unseat hillary's delegates especially here in wisconsin.
I absolultely agree that Hilary's name should be placed in nomination. If not, I know that I will not vote for Obama . Also, I will not vote for Obama if Clinton is not on the ticket or does not get a convention vote. I will either vote for McCain or not at all. My partner feels the same way, as does my family. Arizona Gail
I haven't heard of the push to do this. But, this articles states exactly how I feel ! I have even been telling friends that I may not vote at all this year. I am a Clinton supporter from Michigan and I feel like we got the short end of the stick with all the sanctions for changing our primary. We, the Democratic citizens, of MI and FL should be mad. The Democratic convention and a fair vote between Obama and Clinton would go a long way towards repairing the damage done. I have always voted for a democrat ... This year, I may stay at home the democratic party has in my opinion, shot itself in the foot.
why was my previous comment not printed?? some sort of mistake or are we really in the land of big brother and 1984..
Sorry but It's over.
She and her hubby are so lame. Let her fans stay home. Obama doesn't need them and this country certainly doesn't want them.
I'm all for the Convention Vote! Barak Obama is an empty suit! Hillary Clinton is the only one to lead us!
what ever happened to the 18 million people that Hillary keeps on mentioning if every one would give one dollar they could pay her debt. The truth is there are no 18 million people, most of those voters were republican that wanted Hillary to win
The primaries are over. Quit trying to ruin the Democratic Party's chances with this spoiled child mentality.
Is anyone surprised that Clinton surrogates want to nominate their candidate and have a convention vote? Why else would the senator not release her delegates. She's wearing the mask she needs to wear right now but she will certainly in her stunning egomania believe she can win at the convention. The face she has now is for now. The convention is another matter. In her ambition, she needs to consider the wisdom of being McCain's running mate. As long as she has her "supporting Obama raising money together" face on, she has to rely on her feminist power brokers to do this work for her. Obama called her a formidable candidate, perhaps rival. He hasn't seen anything yet.
"That old dog won't hunt"...
yea sure, go ahead and NOT vote because your candidate didn't win. Listen up...this nomination process has been this way for a long time now. If you want to change it, you should have thought of that before the game started. Also: Why in the world would Obama give Hillary a chance to take the nomination? So you can comfort yourself by thinking the process is fair? Suck it up like the rest of us who have been furious with this system for longer than a few months and vote for the guy who isn't set in starting wars for profit. Please think of other people who would have to live with your bitter decision.
Cynthia McKinney for President. The only progressive in the race.
Hey, let's ALL demand the vote for Hillary, yeah, that's it! Operation Chaos part 2. Who needs a president wanting to end a bloody war over oil? Who needs Barack the Muslim? He and his 'terrorist fist jabbing' wife can go away. Long live the GOP... er, I mean Hillary. Don't vote your brains, dems, we repubs are counting on you to fall fot the trap. Hee hee hee.
Sleepingdog, there is so much misinformation and left out fact in your post it's disconcerting. First off there was a lot of gaming of the system that went on here and frankly if Obama was in Hillary's position I would fully expect him as the process allows to have a voice at the convention. Her race has been every single bit as historical as his is and it's not being treated as such at all. She never should have been shoved out starting back in January. It was disgraceful. That is NOT how this process works when a race is this close and it never has been closer at all. If you want people to respect and vote for your candidate then you need to familiarize yourself more fully with this process and realize that what a lot of people are rightfully upset by is the unprecedented disrespect and ridiculous way the party leaders have conducted themselves in this primary season. It's quite bizarre to say the least And Obama doesn't have to "give" her a voice at the convention, it's the party leaders and this process that allow for that. And this guy not starting wars?? What is that in referral to? Obama's lie that he "didn't vote for the war" He was NOT a senator at the time and did NOT have any vote at all. When he was asked what he would have done he said "I don't know how I would have voted had I had to make that decision at that time, AND I"m pretty much on the same page as George Bush" in regard to the WAR. So he can't say something about an issue he never had a vote on and when he DID have a vote on it he voted the same as Hillary every time. Puh lease. It's so under handed to give a FALSE impression and it's one reason I had to take a second and third look at who he really is. Now the convention should be conducted with due respect the same way it would have been had this been two white men running against each other with no other issue involved. PERIOD and with all respect to BOTH candidates. She did win the popular vote, and neither candidate has enough delegates. The super delegates are supposed to let each candidate make their case and then decide who is the strongest candidate to go up against the republicans in the fall. They are NOT supposed to go against their state either in most cases. So no it has not really been "fair' and that's not counting that he won mostly caucus states, not primaries...Caucuses in which there was rampant cheating. Well, you can't pull that in the G.E. And to the person who still insists most of the people who voted for Hillary are republicans ....saying something over and over so you don't have to look at what people are really saying to you is an old trick and it sure doesn't make it true...
Bill is probably back running the "Clinton Foundation" which does charitable work all over the world. There is a website and I'm sure he'll be wanting to go back to being more involved in that again. He was at Mandela's birthday a while back too. Getting on with the business of running his foundation most likely. i sure hope that's what he is doing. It's a stellar organization and it needs his leadership and full focus.
At this time, Clinton has publicly said, repeatedly, that she supports the nomination of Obama. She has not released her delegates because remaining in the campaign is a technicality that must be respected in order for her to continue raising money to pay off her campaign debts. From the standpoint of convention rules, it will certainly be possible for someone to rise and place her name in nomination. However, if she makes it clear at convention time that she does not wish her name placed in nomination and that she still supports Obama, to place her name in nomination would be ethically questionable. It appears that some people will not give up until she declares that she will not run if nominated and will not serve if elected. This election is about the future of our country. Anyone who aids and abets John McCain in any way, including not voting, is much more than an enemy of Obama or of Clinton or of the Democratic Party. Such a person is an enemy of the Republic.
I believe Obama is a misogynist. He certainly used it and stayed silent for it. Now you wouldn't dare ask someone who you felt let a blood bath of racism go on in the media and used it to their advantage to be considered for my vote if I were A.A. would YOU? I saw it happen and I saw what he did and did not say about it. The silence was extremely telling and believe me I WANTED him to say or do something positive. Instead he used it to his full advantage. I am NOT going to vote for him. I may vote green but, I'm sure as hell not voting for someone I feel has violated everything I've ever fought for. It's about an INJUSTICE. Obviously one that you can prioritize out of existence and is of no importance whatsoever to you. I work in a women's shelter and I saw the effect it had...I can't ignore it because it will make you or anyone else more comfortable. I don't see people marching around with signs about the domestic violence deaths every relentless year after year either. I dare say, I do resent you preaching to me under these circumstances about my vote and who has a say so or not. If you don't see that or want to see it or care about it, so be it. But calling people an enemy of the republic because they are going to use their right to vote the way they see fit is ludicrous. Utterly ludicrous, dangerous and cowardly to boot.
Rafree, please allow for the decision making process to take place without your objections, anything outside of the establishment is not welcomed. Also, watch what your candidate says and does as this process evolves. That is what a politician does, and Hillary is a damn good one, lacking any concern for your indignant concerns on fair processes and dues. PS. that goes for all the other ones too.
For months, I have said that would gladly vote for Barack Obama if he won the nomination fair and square. He did not. The process itself is flawed, and should be fixed for future elections. In the meantime, I for one would like to see the convention process work in the same democratic fashion that has served us well for many years. That includes placing both names, Obama and Clinton, in nomination AND both names on the ballot. If the roles were turned, and it was Obama that was down, I would be saying the same thing. So, I encourage everyone to do the right thing: Keep the Democratic Party democratic. There is nothing sinister about that. Please familiarize yourselves with the process, the way it's SUPPOSED to work. It will unify the country, even - and especially - if Obama wins. Then, I will vote for him.
Obama, Clinton or McCain, where is the change in the tragic becoming political US course. All candidates will not reduce the military spending, so that means there is no funding for their fiscal or social programms. Clinton and Obama think by sending diplomatic signals to the "allies" in Europe those would take over the war burden US has creates on itself. The list is long. I think that in fact the heads of the popular vote should count and nothing else.
Too much cheating went on in Barack Obama's favor. The great Plains Caucus State contests were a joke. Speaking of Republicans voting, they voted for Barack in the Great Plains Caucus Contests. EVERYTIME A STATE HELD BOTH A CAUCUS AND A PRIMARY VOTE, HILLARY CLINTON PICKED UP OVER 30% more votes in the primary. Axlerod strikes me as being the typical sleazeball. The early accusations of the Clintons being racist against Hispanics in Nevada, and then racist against blacks in South Carolina, followed by MSNBC demanding that the superdelegates NOT decide the outcome was just piling on and piling on against the Clintons, and it was orchestrated by George Soros and company. Barack Obama is beholden to George Soros, Huffington Post, MSNBC, Move On, and Newsweek and will NOT be able to do what he believes is right. Barack Obama sold long term success for short term glory, that is what is saddest of all. http://www.HILLARY-WINS.com http://www.CAUCUSCHEATING.com http://www.FAIR-REFLECTION.com
This is a fake issue. There is no "ballot" there is a role call of the states. The uncommitted delegates in each state delegation can vote for Barak or Hillary or Donald Duck. This idiot law professor does a disservice to Hillary by associating a can-do woman senator with a whine and moan, lose the election support group.
I agree, her name should be on the ballot. And I also agree that if its not on the ballot many more democracts will stay home because they thought she got screwed.
Can't all you Hillary whiners just SHAD UP already? She lost the nomination fairly and soundly. She is not the popular people's choice. She doesn't have the support of the American people. The only support she garned was that of Republicans who thought she was their ticket to holding the White House! Get over yourself people. Thats the most ludicrous statement, "I'm not going to vote unless Hillary is given another chance to show she lost fair and square."
Was it Ed Rendell who said, "You don't bargain with the nominee." or was it somebody else? There's no reason she can't release her delegates. There's no reason she can't publicly decline a roll call. She's dividing the party.
At Heldi Li's blog Potpourri she explains more detail about the ballot and roll call. Apparently for the vote to count, Hillary needs to be on the ballot as an 'official' candidate or something like that. So we can expect double talk by the DNC saying "Of course she will be on and we will have a roll call" -- but concealing that it won't be 'official'. We need to get clear on that and make it clear to the media and to the DNC that we won't accept any 'symbolic' sort of process that cannot result in Hillary becoming the nominee. Of course, some of us will vote against Obama whatever the process at the convention, unless Hillary actually gets the nomination. (And no Hillary VP either!)
These Hillary supporters won't vote for Obama either way so why should he agree to allow her name to be put into consideration. There is NOTHING in it for him. If he allowed it to happen and he still got the most votes they would whine about it not being fair. All these actions prove are the classic stereotypes of why women can't hold important offices seem to be true. They don't use logic and hold grudges. Too emotional. This just points out to many that women can't be President. Also a loss this fall by the democrats will be blamed by many on the Clintons. She may not even win reelection to the senate and it will ruin her place in history. It surely will elininate any chance to be President, you can't win if 90% of the Republicans, 75% of the Inds and 50% of the democrats hate you. Many historians already blame the Democratic losses of the congress, and the 2000 and 2004 elections on the Clintons. She will never get the support of the African American community and a Democrat can NOT win the Presidency without a strong AA vote. Bill Clinton only got something like 39% of the white vote in his first run.
This has been a historic time in our country with a female and African American candidate for President. This primary season was a hard fought contest by both Senator Obama and Senator Clinton. Senator Clinton won 18,000.000. To deny the voices of her voters to be heard at the convention is against the democratic process for which we stand. In the charter of the Democratic Party it states, "We acknowledge that a political party which wishes to lead must listen to those it would lead, a party which asks for the people's trust must prove that it trusts the people and a party which hopes to call forth the best the Nation can achieve must embody the best of the Nation's heritage and traditions. we pledge ourselves to open, honest endeavor and to the conduct of public affairs in a manner worthy of a society of free people. Under God, and for these ends and upon these principles, we do establish and adopt this Charter of the Democratic Party of the United States of America. Traditionally the Democratic party has called a roll call and vote at the Convention. In 1984 Gary Hart received 1,201 and Jesse Jackson 466 votes on the rollcall. In 1988 Jesse Jackson's nomination was celebrated by a 1,219 vote rollcall. In 1992 Jerry Brown received 596 and Paul Tsongas 289 votes. Gary Hart, Ted Kennedy, Jesse Jackson, Joe Biden, Jerry Brown, Paul Tsongas (among others) have ALL had their names placed in nomination with far fewer than 1,896 delegates. So to not follow this course of action is to leave and alienate the 18,000,000 voters that voted for Senator Clinton. The Democratic officials and Senator Obama keep saying they want party unity but I for one have heard alot of word but not seen any actions. Actions speak louder than words. We are asking that Senator Clinton's name be in nominee and placed on in the nominating process and vote. If Democratic party officials do want unity and solidarity "listening to those it would lead" as it states in the charter, then Senator Clinton's name will be placed in nomination and a vote done as has traditionally done. They will not leave 18,000,000 million people out of the process.
GAIAS CHILD AND BEN, I don't know how many times I need to remind stupid people that the "she hasn't released her delegates" storyline is BS. She doesn't have to "release" her delegates to "release" them. Pledged delegates are not bound to any candidate no more than the super delegates are. They can have a unanimous vote at the convention and nominate Obama and there is nothing anybody can do about it. Gaias Child, I hate you, and democrats like you because you think this process is a joke. You spread lies like "she is planning, quietly, to destroy the universe, she is ambitious and EVIL" about the politicians in your party who share your views. If anyone is dividing the party, it is you, not the clinton supporters. Stop lying to the public, she is not conspiring to do anything.
Since being selected for the nomination, Obama has flip-flopped on numerous issues that were important to the people who voted for him. It is only fair that the Superdelegates take this into account when they give their final vote for the nomination at the DNC Convention in August. Obama changed his mind. So can they!
This is taking sore loser to a whole new level. On the other hand this is Hillary's last stand. If Obama loses in Nov. the Dems will want a moderate governor next time, which they should have done this time. The Clintons still ruin the Dem party, yet the bitter clingers still fawn over them.
I think Professor Feldman has an unhealthy obsession with Hillary Rodham Clinton.
Hillary had her chance but nobody liked her. Know what I'm saying? Nobody liked her. If she did win I wouldn't vote for her anyway. I would vote for Obama even if he wasn't on the ballot. He is the only one willing to take money away from all the rich cats and see to it that we get our share.
I feel the Democratic party has been trying to bump Clinton out of the way from the beginning for their Golden Boy. It's a shame the way they have almost knocked her down to get her delegates and then get miffed when she doesn't just go away quietly. Get back up Hillary! Don't let them decide who we want to vote for. How many of us feel that the delegates of Michigan and Florida wouldn't have been split if Obama had won them? I know I do.
You can't eat hope and you can't pay a medical bill with vision. So now tell me what Obama is going to do for us other than let the telecommunications companies violate the Constitution, trash a woman's right to choose and let us know he doesn't know that Access Hollywood isn't the News Hour. Hillary gets VP or just write her name in on election day.
McKinney, is the only person besides Dr. Paul, who would change the current fiasco in our goverment. McCain, Clinton,Obama, are all more of the same. Americans are to dumb to vote for who is best for their country, and the election is a scham anyway, so keep wasting time bickering. You should be fixing your country and prosecuting those responsible for wrecking it, not grandstanding. Americans-so much energy-so little thought.....
She conceded the race, endorsed him, campaigned for him... when will these people realize it's over?
By all means there should be a convention vote. Probably many of the super delegates are already suffering "buyer's remorse". Tell Obama "it;s democracy"; "get used to it".
How can our nation's people elect a Senator to the White House who was only an acting Senator for one year and has spent 2 years of his three campaigning for the Presidency and who has no expertise in any department of our United States branches of government.....?? .......hOW DOES OUR COUNTRY FOLLOW THIS PERSON AND PERMIT HIM TO HOLD THE HIGHEST POSITION IN OUR GOVERNMENT??..WAKE UP AMERICA..WE ARE BEING DUPED BY AN ORATOR...HE BELONGS IN A CHURCH..HE PREACHES LIKE HE WAS A MINISTER...LET HIM SHARE THE PASTOR DUTIES WITH HIS NENTOR THE PASTOR WRIGHT.................OBAMA IS IN THE WRONG PROFESSION HE SHOULD HAVE ATTENDED A SCHOOL OF MINISTRY OR PERHAPS HE WAS EDUCATED TO GIVE LOFTY SPEECHES WITH NO SUBSTANCE.................WE MUST NOT ELECT OBAMA........................HE WILL BE DANGEROUS FOR OUR NATION
First of all, he does have enough delegates to win NOW. This article is incorrect. Second, she ran a rcist, sexist, disingenuous campaign and deserved to lose. Third, she and her sort of husband ran a disgraceful White House the last time they occupied it and should be kept as far away from it as possible/ Last. THEY SHOULD NOT PUT HER NAME IN NOMINATION BECAUSE SHE LOST. GET OVER IT !!!!!!
Rafree, you have left out information yourself, starting with the meme that Hillary Clinton was "shoved out". It was clear early on that Clinton could not win the required number of elected delegates - the math was clear. She moved on (understandably) to the hope that the superdelegates would compensate and give her the nomination. Barring a real surprise revelation or incredibly horrible gaffe, a dispassionate observer could predict that wasn't going to happen - as the steady trickle of superdelegates declaring for Obama proved. Hillary Clinton has done the graceful thing, as have many candidates before her in similar situations. She has showed she values party above personal ambition, country above personal ambition. I urge you to do the same.
DEAR CLINTON SUPPORTERS, GET OVER IT, SHE WAS BEATEN SOUNDLY BY OBAMA THE GAME IS OVER NO REPLAY STAY HOME ON NOV 4TH IF NEED BE OR VOTE FOR MCCAIN WHO CARES BUT PLEASE WAKE UP AND REALIZE THAT THE PRIMARY SEASON IS OVER OKAY, GET SOME THERAPY OR WHATEVER YOU NEED TO HELP YOU GET THROUGH YOUR TRAUMA AND EMOTIONAL STRESS.
As a Democrat I'm in favor of a vote. Hillary has earned the right to be heard - we're not talking someone with only 20% of the vote or delegates, for crying out loud! What is Obama afraid of, anyway? Personally if Hillary isn't on the ticket I will vote for McCain. As much as I hate to admit it, I'd prefer McCain over Obama, who is completely unqualified, inexperienced, and who changes his views whenever the wind changes. I've had enough with the promise the world and do nothing attitude. The man won't vote in the Senate on critical issues. What's he going to do if he is faced with a real decision as the leader of this country?
Heidi Li Feldman is a fool. Her premise is central and fundamentally flawed on her two primary points. "there's still "no way of predicting" the outcome should there be a fair vote." - Of course there is. Obama secured a majority of pledged delegates and a clear majority of delegates has promised to vote for him at the convention. Many former HRC supporting delegates have also promised to vote for Obama. We can certainly predict the outcome because in order for Hillary Clinton to win, she would have to somehow sway hundreds of delegates who have promised their votes to her after she has dropped out and conceded. Secondly, "But I know that if Sen. Obama were sure he would win, there wouldn't be a negotiation" - is a clear lie. Of course there would be a negotitation, just as there was for Edwards, Richardson etc.
Super delegates have until August to come to their senses. The Beatles foretold this in 1965 "I'm Looking Through You" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YiRbZ5R1q2M&feature=related
Reno: Nobody liked her? How about 18 million. She won the popular vote! Neither candidate won enough pledged delegates (2,118) from the primaries to secure the nomination. Superdelegates will be the ones to decide this nomination, and they can change their minds any time between now and their vote at the convention. With all the flip flopping that Obama has done since the primaries ended (FISA, gun control, late term abortion, NAFTA, death penalty, faith based initiatives, campaign finance, etc etc) why would they stick with someone who doesn't stand for the core issues of the Democratic Party? If Hillary doesn't want the nomination, she can say so at the convention. But 18 million of us (probably even more now) still want her. PUMA HillarySupporters.com
Its time for the Clinton holdouts to move and embrace their party's nominee. If they can't do that, then should need to step off.
"But I know that if Sen. Obama were sure he would win, there wouldn't be a negotiation" about Clinton's role at the convention." Hadn't actually thought of it that way, that the negotiations may be some sign of admission from the Obama campaign that it's not in the bag yet. I agree with Feldman: "What they have to do is make it possible for people to say to themselves that there was a fair and correct process," I think there are a lot of people who think otherwise. Hillary was pushed to the curb long before the election was complete, maybe before it even started.
What a bunch of whiny sore losers. These people are so self obsessed over their delusions and what they want they don't even care how bad this makes their candidate look. I read alot of American History and never have I seen any election where the supporters whine and pout and hold their breath because they did not get their way. These people need to get real and grow up!
Reading the comments I am so ashamed of my gender. Most of these bitter sore losers probably don't know the first thing about politics and are absolutely ignorant of the process. They figure because their candidate blew her lead and her money it must be a conspiracy against her. Or that some underground evildoing was going on to rob their candidate of the nomination. if you want to participate in politics then i suggest they get Politics for Dummies and learn how it goes. Primaries and Elections are not about your feelings, your wants and yourself. Politics is a rough game and Hillary knows this and accepts the results and has moved on. If you cannot deal with it, then instead of wallowing in self pity why dont' you all do something constructive for a change and help pay off her debt instead of wandering around the blogs posting about how bitter you are and how you are mad because you did not get your way. Quit acting like spoiled little kids and do something positive for once instead of nothing but bellyaching and feeling sorry for yourselves
You have got to be kidding me. You mean to tell me there are still people who think Hillary can win?! Wow. Simply amazing.
This is a very good idea because if polosi, obama. kerry and kenendy are not afraid that their anointed guy can still win then they should allow Hillary name on the convention ballot but if they failed to do that it means theiy are afraid because polosi was against Hillary canditatecy from day one and her public annoucements that she want want both Hillary and Obama on one ticket but support Edward from Texes on the ticket indicate my point. She don't want any woman to bypass her ;position as she is the highest American woman ever had a higher position.I am a die hard Democrat which l pay money to national and state democrats but the only way l will vote for Obama is when Hillary is on the ticket because the primaries was not fair to Hillary as polosi pressured most of the superdelegates to support Obama,
Do you people want John McCain to win? Do you really want the war ini Iraq to go on for another 100 years? Because that's all you're golng to accomplish with this irrational stubborn behavior. The primary is over. Hillary conceded, and we have our Democratic candidate. Why are you so unwilling to accept that and support Barack Obama as our next president? Because he's a man? Because he's a black man? Get over it and recognize that he's a dyed-in-the-wool Democrat that represents our Democratic ideals, and that he's our ONLY chance to take back the White House in November.
"...WAKE UP AMERICA..WE ARE BEING DUPED BY AN ORATOR...HE BELONGS IN A CHURCH..HE PREACHES LIKE HE WAS A MINISTER..." jefrann 8:54am jefrann, You are exactly right!. That's what most bothers me about him. He has no experience and he preaches like a minister. That and his arrogance drives me nuts. He talks out of both sides of his mouth. And he's set an example for his 'followers' of meaness and rudeness. A get over it attitude. Blame him and his campaign for the vitriol and hatred we hear daily.
Anyone who considers themselves a Hillary supporter, yet would either vote for McCain or not at all, and thereby help seat two more conservative (right-wing) justices on the Supreme Court -- guaranteeing a right-wing majority on the court for at least the next generation and guaranteeing an end to Roe v. Wade -- should be taken out and shot.
wrs says: "-should be taken out and shot." Said like a true obot, wrs. They don't agree with us, that's ok. Just shoot them? Right?
Man! With few exceptions, anyone reading the posts here, on both sides of the ObamaClinton devide, can understand why Republicans believe they have a good chance again this November. And for those claiming they will vote for McCain please, do a Lieberman and leave the party.
I am supporting PUMA and we E-mailed a bunch of delegates about the roll call and some were jerks about it. One said it was ridicules. How stuck up can you get? These bozo's don't give a flying fig about we the people. Unless they want our vote.
Wow. I never should have underestimated the ability of Democrats to snatch defeat from the gaping maw of victory. Everything points to a Democratic victory for the presidency in November, and yet Democrats are doing everything in their power to shoot themselves in the foot. First there was Hillary staying in for months after it became obvious she was not going to catch Obama in pledged delegates and had no mathematical chance of winning. Then there was her trying to imply he was winning unfairly, because Michigan and Florida weren't being counted. (Nevermind that ALL candidates agreed to the same rules to begin with - including Hillary - that those states wouldn't be counted.) Now there are Hillary supporters on this thread who STILL won't give up. Jesus Christ people, would you rather have a liberal in office or a conservative? If the answer is liberal, then take the candidate who has officially clinched the nomination, the candidate who Hillary herself has declared the winner, and freaking get in line behind the nominee of your party! This is unbelievable. How some folks can be so utterly stupid is beyond me. Right now, Obama is beating McCain handily both nationally and in the key swing states. Do you want a Democrat in office or not? If the answer is yes, that you want a liberal and a Democrat in the presidency so a liberal agenda can be advanced for the next four years, then accept Obama as your nominee. If the answer is no, and you want to continue to whine about how Hillary may or may not have been mistreated, about how she still has a chance if you only continue to stab your presumptive nominee in the back with threats to cause trouble at the convention or go and vote for McCain, then by all means keep this junk going. If you want a conservative McCain, who, by the way, voted with Bush 95% of the time in the Senate and wants to abolish Roe vs. Wade, to be your next president...then I guess keep acting like you're doing.
Tlentx wrote: "This has ben a historic time in our country,/..." No. This was the Gong Show or Battle of the network stars. What is next? Pit an Indian against a gay guy? I can see that in my head now, " Custer was a hate crime!!" or "Custer was gay!" This was a bad idea and the DNC are fools!
This is a load of garbage. Leave it to we, the Democrats, to kill our chances of winning, by putting on some BS show to see "if" Hillary can win at convention. She lost! Get over it Clinton backers. These are probably the same idiots who are still complaining that Gore was the real winner in 2000. It's time to move on. Obama is our nominee. There is no need to put her name in for nomination. Let's unite and win in November instead of dragging us all down.
" l will vote for Obama is when Hillary is on the ticket because the primaries was not fair to Hillary as polosi pressured most of the superdelegates to support Obama, " Um, Charles, Hillary had this person named "Bill Clinton" A.K.A. "Former President Bill Clinton" in her corner pressuring superdelegates to support his wife, was that unfair to Obama? Seriously, you think having supporters try and convince superdelegates to come over to your side is somehow unfair? That's part of the process! Both sides did that. The amount of people who somehow feel Hillary was cheated in this thread is apalling. Hillary herself said, to Obama when he complained of unfair coverage, "if you can't stand the heat then get out of the kitchen". Politics is a rough game. Both sides tried their best to secure favorable coverage for themselves and unfavorable for their opponent. That's how these things work. And at the end of the day, Obama had won and, here is the important part everyone, HILLARY CLINTON CONCEDED! She's endorsed Obama. He's raising money to help pay down her debt. Do you REALLY think she's going to try and take the nomination away from Obama now after she's suspended her campaign, endorsed her opponent, asked her supporters to help Obama, and asked Obama's help to pay down her debt? A debt, I might add, she $100 million instead of a paltry $80 million. Folks, policy wise Barack and Hillary are almost identical. If you care at all about the actual ISSUES in this election and not just about Hillary, then for god's sake get in line behind the nominee of your party and allow Obama to pivot to taking on John McCain!
Wow. Never been on this site before, but the Obama supporters here are just as pathetic as those at TPM and Kos. I guess I will hold my nose and vote for this idiot, but after watching him show his true colors for the past few weeks plus his inability to defend himself against mounting attacks, I am worried that my vote will not help. If Hillary was the nominee, you can bet she would be grinding McCain into the dust right now. Instead, Obama is losing support every day.
You know, if this site is going to make every comment be approved before it shows up, it sure would be nice if the approval was done in a more timely manner. I've been waiting quite a while for my comments to be posted.
From my perspective, it looks like Obama's supporters are afraid to let democracy work. If Obama and his supporters were certain about his hold on the nomination, he should welcome a floor vote.
@wrs "guaranteeing a right-wing majority on the court for at least the next generation and guaranteeing an end to Roe v. Wade -- should be taken out and shot." Spoken like a true leftist.
snatch defeat from the jaws of victory - be divisive, argue and watch the Repub slide home to victory! Whether OBama is the best is not the issue - he is our candidate - it's done. Work for his election...
Re: wrs comment at 11:41 a.m. This is a very irresponsible and dangerous comment with the pro-gun culture we have in the U.S.A. People can get seriously hurt or die if someone takes your comment seriously. And don't think someone won't and if they did, you should bear some responsibility for it unless you take back your comment.
So, caucuses were unfair in 2008, but never before then, and certainly not in '92 or '96 when her husband won. Got it. The rules were rigged, but apparently they were rigged by the very supporters Clinton had on the DNC rules committee. And the process was so unfair because it was soooo different than previous years.....how? Oh, I forgot. It's unfair because Sen. Clinton lost. Had she won, it would have proven the fairness of the system. We have a nominee. It was close - very close. Both candidates campaigned hard. Both would make a much better president than John McCain. But Obama won and Clinton lost under rules both sides agreed to before we ever started this process. Let Clinton have her vote at the convention. She'll lose. And then her supporters can finally be reconciled it's OVER, and help us make sure John McCain isn't the 3rd (and possibly 4th) term of W.
Hate to tell ya folks Obama has more experience than Hilary does. Stop quoting failed talking points from a failed campaign.
Hillary Clinton has earned the right for her name to be placed in nomination because she has delegates. John Edwards has delegates and his name could be placed in nomination. To deny either of them this honor is to repudidate half of the democratic voters in this primaries. Senator Clinton's delegates worked hard to get to Denver and gone to great expense to be there to support their candidate and to support the democratic nominee. They deserve to be heard and to deny them will only further alienate a large portion of the party. I can understand why Sen. Obama may be frightened of allowing a show of support for Sen. Clinton. With his change of positions in recent weeks, he may be concerned that the same delegates that he courted during the primaries may be suffering from some buyer's remorse. Since super delegates can vote their conscience at the convention regardless of any prior pledge, he may want to prevent a change of heart. We are probably stuck with Sen. Obama and will continue to be stunned each week as he back pedals on his positions and rhetoric of the spring. His refined position is coming on Iraq and it will sound alot like John McCain and the ultra left will be outraged but he is their candidate. Then he will further qualify his position on choice and NARAL will take it because they cannot come back from the betrayal of Sen. Clinton. NAFTA will be just fine with him and those unions will see further erosion of their jobs especially in manufacturing. And I really feel sorry for the African American community who will feel the most betrayed when Obama continues to lecture them on their irresponsibility while refusing to acknowledge systemic problems which further hinder their advancement. But he is their candidate and we are all stuck with him. I cannot vote for McCain because his stand on the issues are in opposition to mine but at least I can say that he does stand for things. Obama has wonderful oratory with no substance and all those who think they know where he stands from the primaries are finding out they were so wrong. So if the supporters of Hillary Clinton want to put her name in nomination and give those delegates one last chance to get it right then they should. Sen. Clinton is being a good democrat but she would make a better President.
Too flipping wierd... Reasons for Hillary Clinton Supporters to Vote for McCain 1) Health Care The McCain Health Care Plan provides a $2500 tax credit for singles and a $5000 tax credit for families. It also removes tax incentives for businesses to provide medical insurance. If you believe that telling people to 'go get your own insurance' is a better plan than Obama's plan, you should vote for McCain. If you believe that a family, with or without preexisting medical conditions, can get quality health care insurance for $5000 a year, you should vote for McCain. If you believe that a family, that does not have a tax bill of $5000 to be credited, can get quality medical insurance for even less than $5000, you should vote for McCain. 2) Social Security The McCain Social Security plan is basically a rehash of Bush's Privatization, while denying that it is privatization. It calls for 'younger' workers to pay less Social Security and Medicare taxes and to put that into 'Private Accounts'. If you believe that telling people to 'go get your own retirement' is a better plan, you should vote for McCain. If you believe that the American workers would be better off if Bush's plan had been implemented six years ago, you should vote for McCain. 3) War The McCain plan for Iraq is continuing war. The McCain plan for Iran is "bomb, bomb, bomb...". The McCain plan is to continuing killing Iraqis and having our military continue dying until we achieve (an undefined) win. If you believe that war is peace, you should vote for McCain. If you believe that 'the only good raghead is a dead raghead', you should vote for McCain. If you believe that war should be the first option, rather than diplomacy, you should vote for McCain. War has been credited in the past with bringing the U.S. economy out of recessions and depressions. If you believe this could happen again, you should vote for McCain. 4) The Economy McCain's plan for the economy is basically Bush tax cuts for the wealthy on steroids. If you believe that the problem with our economy is that the rich do not have enough money, you should vote for McCain. 5) Women's Reproductive Rights McCain has proclaimed that his ideas of quality nominees to the Supreme Court are Scalia, Alito, and Roberts. If you believe that men should decide on what medical care options are available for women, you should vote for McCain. If you want to see Griswold vs. Connecticut (the real goal of the hardcore Right-To-Lifers) overturned, you should vote for McCain.
Ironic that the doom and gloom philosophy that's being presented here is the reason lots of voters got fed up with clinton and didn't vote for her. She's gotten way more consideration already. the press pretended she had a chance long after she ship had already sailed. She got to stay in till the end. She got partial counts of MI/FL. And she STILL LOST. Had any other candidate but her lost 13 states in a row the supers and press would have abandoned them immediately as a lost cause. So stop bellyaching that she was sabotaged somehow already. If someone was trying to spoiler her chances they did a really lousy job. She bungled a huge cash advantage and a 20 point lead due to hubris and poor campaigning. I will not deny it's her right to push for a delegate vote at the convention. But if she does make no mistake it's her ego that's important not the nomination or winning the White White away from the GOP.
HRC supporters stay home? Nah, come on over to the Mav...we will respect you. Help end the war w/o the phony promises of pulling troops out. Help w/energy concerns by supporting drilling AND r&d for other means, all w/o the phony promises. Come on over.
I hate to break it to you Obamaniacs, but he doesn't actually have enough pledged delegates to definitively claim the nomination. Sure, my guess is that, come convention time, a floor vote would yeild more than the required amount for Obama to officially claim the nomination. However, there is still time for Obama to screw up. He's tanking in the polls because every day he seems to commit more flip-flops or show his brutal ignorance of the issues. Already there are plenty of voters who are feeling "buyer's remorse" for choosing Obama. You'd be fools to think many delegates aren't going through the same. Come November, Obama will probably have made so many gaffes that the Presidency will be McCain's for the taking. Clinging to Obama is foolish. It just helps give us 4 more years of Republican rule.
These people saying No roll call no Obama vote in Nov., How about i change the tune a little bit ... No Obama Nomination, No win in Nov. for Democrats ... Oh wait, that is exactly what you're fighting for since You really don't want to see a Democratic win and a change in all these failed Republicam policies because quite frankly YOU GUYS ARE NOT REALLY HURTING FROM THIS ECONOMY ....
You don't think this will be just a bit humiliating for Hillary when they do the roll call and so many of her delegates have jumped over to the Obama Camp? Why would you want to put her through that? You claim to care about her, yet you want her to feel this special sense of losing all over again?? How very thoughtful of you all...
I am ashamed! All you are doing is proving the stereotypes about women that people have used to keep down are true! You are embarrassing. Women are too emotional, they hold a grudge and don't think logically. You are hurting the chance for a woman becoming President in the next 100 years. I AM a big Hillary supporter and I am disappointed, but there is no way I will allow a republican back in office. Just recently, some economists have said, although not likely, (there is the chance that many more banks could collapse and that the housing market won't rebound until 2010 at the earliest) this recession could freefall into a depression and even if not we are in for a long struggle economically and facing the worst times since the depression. You don't think 4 or 8 more years of this wouldn't result in at least a middle class depression? To allow the republicans to win because you are throwing a fit, isn't being bitter it is being evil. McCain has said he wants to overturn Roe v Wade, do away or cut back Social security, his health care plan would cover less people then the system now because it would encourage employers to drop coverage. The further damage done may not ever be fixed. And IF Hillary won the nomination in 2012 the democrats would lose again because the other side of our party wouldn't support her after this. You are going to destroy the country because you are upset and angry? You aren't Hillary supporters, a real Hillary supporter wouldn't throw away all the advances women have made.
I am grateful for the Denver Group-- working to keep the Democratic Party democratic! They do represent me and millions of others, afterall, 18 million people voted for Hillary and gave her the popular vote. More democrats WANT HER. It is truly shocking that the "changed" dem party--those corrupt DNC big tops--want to make a mockery of the Denver convention--and turn it into a coronation of Obama, and then off he goes to a bizarre and creepy football stadium to bask in chants of his name from 80,000 people?? It's grotesque to me. So very many dem candidates have gone all the way to the convention, with not just their name on the ballot, but truly up for official nomination. Hillary deserves that, at the very very least, considering she broke all records and got the most votes in primary history--all while being financially outspent 4 to 1, and having the media full on attacking her and calling for her to drop out since Iowa, while Obama walked on water and was never truly vetted. Hillary has more than earned her rightful place at the convention and to be up for the offical nomination process. I need to know why her amazing triumph and history making is being swept under the rug and hidden? Why? Are they afraid she will win it? Must be. I do believe there will be a groundbreaking mutiny, way worse than now, if Hillary is erased from the convention. Believe me, I have been a democrat my whole life, and I will not vote for Obama. I know millions feel the same as I do, and if they push Hillary out wrongfully, I promise, Obama will never be president. Just Say No Deal Puma Pac The DenverGroup PUMA!
FWIW, I will not vote for Obama, regardless of what happens at the convention. I did give him my vote in the primary, but that was before I understood what he really will be like. Despite personally disliking the Clintons, I could accept seeing her take office far more than this alternative.
The Obama supporter that commented that he "soundly" defeated HRC is smoking dope. He was ahead by a hair and only because of Media bias. He will get the nomination, but unfortunately will NEVER win against McCain. He is the least experienced nominee in US history. It shows. He will not win.
Me thinks this is a biased blog because you are not posting my remarks against the Clintons and Obama.
I HRC's supporters want to be heard, start by paying off her debt.
jefran said: "How can our nation's people elect a Senator to the White House who was only an acting Senator for one year and has spent 2 years of his three campaigning for the Presidency and who has no expertise in any department of our United States branches of government.....??" Well answer this question from electoral-vote.com and you will see how wrong your answer can potentially be: uppose you had to choose between two Presidential candidates, one of whom had spent 20 years in Congress plus had considerable other relevant experience and the other of whom had about half a dozen years in the Illinois state legislature and 2 years in Congress. Which one do you think would make a better President? If you chose #1, congratulations, you picked James Buchanan over Abraham Lincoln. Your pick disagrees with that of most historians, who see Lincoln as the greatest President ever and Buchanan as the second worst ever, better only than Warren "Teapot Dome" Harding. Both served in what was probably the most difficult period in American history, where slavery and secession tore the nation asunder.
Democrats, listen up! Please have a credentials fight on the floor of the convention. As a Republican, that would be nirvana!
If anybody has ever deserved a convention vote, it is Hillary Clinton. I can't believe they would seek to deny her and her supporters that.
In the past, when there is a true convention fight, the party loses. Hillary knows this and she knows what is important - to end the Republican control which damages our nation in every arena - the war, health care, education, jobs, the debt, women's rights, minority and gay rights, torture, privacy, energy, the environment, FDA, food safety, job safety, parks - everything thinking people hold dear. So let's not self destruct.
At long last, have you people no respect or dignity? She lost, it's may be hard to understand, but she did. Are you TRYING to give the election to McCain? Also--in case you didn't get the memo: she.is.out.of.money.
I say this as a feminist, an HRC supporter, with a mother who was an HRC supporter (and contributor): GET OVER IT, PEOPLE. She gave it a good fight, she lost, them's the breaks. We don't have the luxury of another four or eight years of Republican domination, not with the Supreme Court and reproductive rights at stake. Why can't you people see this?? I really hate to say it, but the women (and, we all know, most of them are women) who are declaring Hillary or nobody are giving all of us a bad name and making feminists out to be hysterical malcontents. Would we rather Hillary were Madame President? Sure. Do I want to jeopardize my two daughters' (ages 9 and 13) future so you can prove a point? No. Again: GET OVER IT. Stop embarrassing Democratic women.
The whiney Clintonista dead-enders need to get over themselves. She lost , it's over, go sit in Joe Loserman's office and tell him about it and let the rest of the sane get on with it.
Wow, I wondered where all the Hillaryis44 folks went. Ladies (and you too, you great guys), welcome! It's great to see such dedication, and you're right to stick by your guns. Hillary or bust! If you don't get your way, let's screw this great country of ours (and any daughters you may have who pine for the right to choose) by doing what we can to support McCain!
This is beyond sad...
Waaaaaaaaaaa!
i really really agree. these hillary supporters show why i would not want a woman in charge. they cannot work together and hold grudges and complain and moan over and over when things dont go there way. i spent 20 yrs in the military and it was the same thing. they cant work with each other like guys tend to and god forbid they get upset its all "that time of the month etc etc" . the lady lost, the country is sick of the clintons... i know i am... get over it.
I bow to no one, no one, in respect and admiration for Senator Clinton. I worked hard and gave more money than I have ever given to a campaign. Ever. However, it's over. Barrack Obama is the nominee of the Democratic Party. As a previoius poster mentioned, if we don't want a Supreme Court that will set back the rights of all Americans to a degree that is almost impossible to imagine and if we don't want that Court in place for the rest of our lives. It is imperative that we lick our wounds in private and support Barrack Obama in public. And if support is too much to ask, we have to at least keep the worst of our bile to ourselves and vote for him on Nov. 4. We, our children and our grandchildren will pay an awful price for petulance and pique.
I miss Hillary Clinton like I miss a scab.
It is appropriate for Senator Clinton's name to be placed into nomination. Sen. Clinton's primary results were just as historic as Sen. Obama's, she won more popular votes than he did, and neither candidate has won enough delegates to secure the nomination. Senator Kennedy's name was placed into nomination when he ran against Pres. Carter and no one questioned the appropriateness of doing so. It is appropriate and fitting and if the convention supports Sen. Obama, then he will be the nominee. All of the bullying of the Obama campaign and his supporters is inappropriate and undemocratic.
Some of you people will say or do anything to justify not voting for Obama let's get real you won't vote because he is BLACK, bottom line stop trying to find a suitable excuse there are none. Because the differences in Hillary's position and Barack's are minute. I will pray that God shred some light on your black heart and rid you of the hatred. Have a Blessed day, it sounds to me like you all need all the blessing you can get.
after reading this article i got that queezy feeling in my stomach...a feeling i thought i had felt the last of some 5 weeks ago. If you people want to vote for someone who can't even log onto the internet then, by all means, go ahead. We'll get what we deserve, i suppose.
So go ahead, Hillary diehards, and pitch your fit and keep everybody angry and divided until Nov. 5. Then in 2012, when a woman's right to choose has been thoroughly eliminated and the Supreme Court is loaded with young hard-right conservatives who will be there for 25 or 30 years and universal health care has vanished in the rearview mirror, you can congratulate yourselves on a job well done. Keep up the good work.
You clintonites are rich. Your constant bleatings that Obama is a muslim , misogynist, mass-killer, mafia, mau-mau,and mormon, are ridiculous. If the democratic convention does a turn about against Barack through pollitical manipulations, you'll destroy any goodwill in the world you have left. America is sunk. The rotw (rest of the world) is hoping for Obama. You put that woman in, you've screwed up foreign policy and international goodwill for a long time.
The women who can't lose graciously have set back feminism 50 years. What a classy stand ladies: If I don't win I'm going to throw a hissy fit. Idiots.
This group has been spearheaded by Republicans, according to what I've read on progressive blogs. Figures.
Hillary Clinton lost largely because of Jesse Jackson's "proportional representation" favoritism that had Hillary winning some states but Barack getting more delegates from some of those states. I believe in one person one vote. Voting is one area where "affirmative action" should not determine the nominee. Having said that, I am on record in favor of Barack Obama. Regardless of my passionate support for Hillary, it is important for the Dems to take the White House this year. As for "Southerner"'s comment, it is important to remember that the delegates who support Mrs. Clinton also have the right to be heard and be counted at the Democratic National Convention. This IS democracy, and if the scant 100,000 vote difference between them would be reversed, I would expect the same right be given to Mr. Obama. Barack, choose Hillary as your VP candidate... Let's get beyond this and look forward to a unified November election !!
Obama was the President of the Law Review and a Constitutional Professor. You really think he is going to appoint a liberal judge. Think again. Then remember his vote on FISA and his support of fatih based initiatives, then look at his position on late term abortion. He is going to the right of McCain. If Hillary is nominated at the convention I will vote for Cynthia MCKinney. Hey I got the bases covered she is an African American and a woman. The Green Party might actually clean up the beltway in DC.
All you Hillary sycophantscan go to heck for all I care. You are not true progressives and you don't really care about our country - just your own petty agendas. and you know what else?! There are not that many of you though your whining is louder than anyone else. Obama will win in a landslide w/o your help
It's fine by me if they don't vote. they can sit in their sandboxes and throw hissy fits and wallow in never ending self pity for all I care. I just wish the media would quit paying attention to the very few spoiled, immature brats who are seeking attention. And that is really what this is about. They want to have attention and it's really about them and an excuse to act out and behave like 6 year olds. If they want to stay home and pout, fine.
OverIt: I greatly admire your practicality. I think if more of Hillary's supporters were like you more of Obama's supporters would have met you half way. It is simply a tragedy that what should have, and did start as, a joyous primary of 2 historical figures devolved into childish fits. On both sides. I am not innocent of my share of anger to Hillary. but, while I welcomed any Hillary supporter with open arms and was even willing to send her a few dollars to help her with her debt, the ongoing nastiest and ugliness and immaturity and vitriol by the hangers on of Hillary's former campaign has made me harden again. This is what the childish behavior results in. Not help. Not coming together. Just those of us who support Obama hardening against Hillary period and that in the end is what will end up hurting Hillary far more. It will stay this way because of the behavior of a few. Hillary pays the price for the bad behavior. If more were like you, I think many of us would bend some but, I just don't see it from the comments on sites like this. I hope the hard core are happy in how much they have been hurting, instead of helping, Hillary.
Forest Trees Can you folks NOT see the difference? Or do you eat your young, too? So many issues, so little time, so why cut off one's nose to spite one's face?
"Clinton Diehards Want Convention Vote" I believe you meant to say "Democrats Seek Real Democratic Convention To Decide Unresolved Race" When a race is as tied as this one was, causing neither candidate to have the requisite number of delegates, it is the job of the Superdelegates AT THE CONVENTION, to cast the deciding votes. This is what our Conventions are for.
This is wonderful. McCain doesn't need the swiftboaters that Bush did, he has Democrats, They've already helped cut Obama's lead in half! With McCain elected, we will control the Supreme Court for a generation, maintain our troops in Iraq and maybe Iran, put the lid on this global warming nonsense, and open up free trade everywhere! Go Hillary supporters! Vote McCain 2008
I think you better go look over your math...I'm sick of hearing this lie...the only way Clinton wins the majority of the elected votes is if you DO NOT COUNT Iowa, Neveda, Maine and Washington. I guess Clinton wants all the votes to be counted but not the ones from people that voted for Obama! Find the REALITY OF MATH below: The proper vote total would be thus: Obama: 17,961,505 48.1% Clinton: 17,916,838 47.9% http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2008/pr... The truth is hard for those Clinton fanatics to swallow...and like why should I help her pay down her debt when the race was over in February...it was all in the math! It has always been Hillary's way to steal someone else's thunder even when she doesn't deserve it. Take the night that Obama HAD ALL THE DELEGATES needed to seal up the nomination -- a historic moment, and Hillary refused to even graciously acknowledge let alone congratulate him. She and her deranged followers made it sound like she was going to take the fight to the convention floor. I have not one bit of respect for her...Let her pay off her own debt. And she didn't receive 18 million votes. She received 17, 916,838 to Obama's 17, 961,505! Suck it up and MOVE ON or be prepared to salute president McCain and while you're at it, send Hillary some money. The multi-millionaire needs your money to get her out of the red...it's not like she mis-managed her campaign or anything.
I don't really want John McCain for president, but at least with McCain I know what I will be getting. Who the hell knows what Obama stands for? He certainly doesn't. He makes John Kerry look resolute. Hillary Clinton was criticized for doing whatever it took to win....well, gheesh, look at Obama. Is there any group he hasn't pandered to and then thrown under the bus? Obama is a political opportunist at best. I wouldn't believe him if he told me the sky is blue. Mountain Sage
Sorry for interrupting your party but...a few thoughts from an adversary (Republican!): I agree that Hillary should get an up/down vote if for no other reason then it was so close. A Republican dream ticket is Obama/Hillary because it gives the "good ole boys" in your party 2 reasons NOT to vote Democratic. How many votes did Hillary get from anti-Obama voters? How many votes did Obama get from anti-Hillary voters? I personally think that Obama got more favorable press coverage than Hillary because he is more "leftist" than she is. The first Black or female president will be a Republican...we will put one up who is actually qualified to be president and will get the necessary crossover votes. There are some interesting posts here and I applaud the participation and passion shown in the ongoing conversation. I'm not fond of John McCain but I can't support the general principles of your party so I will vote for him. I've actually never voted for a Democrat. And the one post that mentioned saving the Republic struck me as very ironic coming from a Democrat. One last thought and I don't take credit for it but it is appropo..."if you are under 30 and you aren't liberal you don't have a heart. If you are over 30 and aren't conservative, you don't have a brain".
Wow. A bunch of starstruck fans all bitter because their idol fell short in the nomination process. Caucus states unfair? No one had a problem with them until Hillary started losing them. Bill didn't in '92 and '96. Florida and Michigan? Hillary didn't utter a peep about 'disenfranchisement' until Iowa failed to anoint her. Obama sexist? Prove it. A few out-of-context quotes is the best anyone's come up with. If the hardcore members of Hillary's fan club want to stay home, well that's their right. If they can't tell the difference between an Obama Administration and a Republican one, then there's no convincing them. They're more concerned with career of a single millionaire politician than with the fortunes of this country. They claim to be concerned about the rights of women, and then threaten to happily sit on their hands as right-wing Supreme court looms on the horizon. They claim to be progressive but can't see what even Hillary knows: a McCain Administration means more war, more economic hardship for all. Sad.
None of the candidates reached the number of PLEDGED delegates required to secure the nomination. Not even with the RBC shennanigans. The primaries did NOT in fact produce a nominee.
Have a vote.
What amazes me is how Obama people worry so much about what Hillary "might" do...I wander why they worry?
I just have one reasonable comment. If you were about to have open heart surgery, would you want a surgeon who only had one years experience of doing open heart surgery?? Obama will be messing with the very heart of a nation, and you people don't think it's important that he have more experience??? PLEASE ! ! ! ! ! You need to to ask God for some wisdom people.
I agree that, historically, losing candadates have been accorded the courtesy of being included in the roll call vote at the convention and that, on the face of it, Sen Clinton should be afforded this same courtesy. Yet I think this thread demonstrates vividly why Sen. Obama may demurr. To spend days bitterly going over the same ground that we just fought over is pointless; destined to reopen wounds that have only begun to heal. No one, not Obama and least of all Sen. Clinton suffers any illusion about the eventual result in Denver. To use her historic and courageous candidacy as an excuse to air personal and somewhat psycological grievences dishonors her.
I understand if people are disappointed that their candidate didn't win but to suggest that the process was unfair or to try to divide the party because of sour grapes is fooloish. I agree that the primary system should be changed. I think we should get rid of everything but the popular vote. But we have to work with the system we have now. I didn't vote for either Clinton or Obama but I've accepted the results. I want the Republicans out of D.C. and we aren't going to do that by pushing a vote at the convention. I agree that there was a lot of sexist and nasty things said about Clinton during the primaries, but not one bit of that crap was put out by Obama . And if truth be told, Clinton was not as fair in her campaign's treatment of Obama. We should let McCain win because the MSM is loaded with a bunch of misogynistic creeps? I say Clintons people should do what I did. Build a bridge and get over it. You can't have everything and making trouble could hurt Clinton's chances of even being considered for V.P. which would be a coup for women and would be fair and just.
There should be a vote! I will not vote for Obama because of the way Hillary has been treated. Do the right thing! If he gets it, fine- but I won't vote at all if Hillary is not on the ticket and there are plenty of people like me - and we can make the difference between winning and losing.
What is it with Americans and fair elections? It shouldn't be a foreign concept! The day when the Democrats elect their nominee hasn't been yet and until he gets elected Obama will be the presumtive nominee only. Do you really want to do away with all semblance of his political legitimacy? I have to tell you that declaring winners before the election and ignoring votes isn't a great sign of a democracy. Thank God I'm Norwegian!
Wow, I find it very strange that Senator Clinton's name shouldn't be on the ballot-is that legal? Her supporters will all be much happier if they see an honest convention. Then perhaps they may start contributing funds to the DNC and Senator Obama.
All of you threatening to vote for McCain if Hillary doesn't get whatever it is you think she deserves, please, please go right ahead and do it. You'll get exactly what you deserve.
Please God send those two sleazes Bill and Hillary out into the tundra. We don't don't them in our POLITICAL LIFE ANYMORE.
Save your breath people, most of these "Clinton Supporters" that won't let go are really freepers who are trying to stir up emotions and keep the democrats divided. Don't fall for their ploy.
I'm sorry, but Hillary ran a completely awful campaign. The nomination was hers to lose and she did it. She had the money, the name, the backing of the party machine, and she lost. Obama ran (and is still running) one of the most efficient and brillant campaigns in history. If you'd take off the Hillary-colored glasses for a second you would see that. Plus, in all the "she's vetted" discussions I've heard, I've not heard many folks wondering what the Repubs found in the 8 years they have had to get ready for this year. YOU KNOW they've spent the past 8 years looking at EVERYTHING. Why do you think they tried so hard to interfere with the Democratic primary? They have dirt and are disappointed that they can't use it. I'm sorry, the Clintons have PLENTY of skeletons in the closet that have not fully been cleaned out. If she were the nominee, the Republicans would be guaranteed the Presidency. That's why Project Chaos promoted by Rush Limbaugh was launched, that's why Anne Coulter was backing Clinton, that's why Richard Mellon Scaife, the architect and financier of the "vast right-wing conspiracy" used his paper to endorse her. You are playing right into their hands...
This is why Clinton didnt win. She's a big crybaby like her supporters. I was behind her till she started with the "Oh poor me" junk. I need someone to RUN the country, not throw a fit when they dont get their way. I got a 4 year old at home for that. Go ahead. prove a point and Dont vote for Obama. When Mccain wins you can whine about that too!
This is a disgrace we have the dead-enders and the GOP/Limbaugh wing of the party joining together for 4 more years of Bush. If you refuse to vote for Barack whose policies are close to Hilary's then you never were a true Democrat. You are voting to overturn a womans right to choose you are voting for torture and you are voting on tax breaks for the rich.
Senator Clinton has been consistent on her stands on Iraq unlike Senator Obama. Also Senator Clinton voted against the Fisa compromise unlike Senator Obama who voted for it. We were told that Senator Obama was different from the other politicians but now we are told Senator Obama is moving toward the middle ground bbecause this is what the politicians do in order to win a national election. So he is just like the rest. He will change his positions in order to get elelcted. He also wants to bring our troops home from iraq; but send 10,000 more troops to Afganastan. In order words he wants to take the troops from one country and deploy them in another. I think he is wrong and I hope that at the Democratic convention; somethow Senator Clinton wins the nomination. She is the only Democrat that can defeat SEn. McCain.
In a true democracy, this nomination must proceed. It is called DEMOCRACY. I am extremely fed up with the will of the people being ignored, whether I like the choice or not. The bigotry has revealed the true character of many. At WhatReallyHappened.com (among other sites), it is absolutely acceptable to use derogatory language in reference to females. The "b" word is a direct, immense insult to any female, including the female members of anyone using the language equating ANY female to that of a dog. The "n" word is subject to a felony. Sexism / misogyny is apparently promoted. Neither blatant usage of either a sexist or racist obscene term would be used by a truly intelligent journalist / blogger. I am highly offended, and rightfully so! As a woman, I am repulsed by the misogyny that is ever so accepted by some. Your written filth betrays your character.
These comments are really telling. Obama supporters don't give reasons why there shouldn't be a vote at the convention. They just resort to name calling and then call their opponents childish. After reading comments on this site and others I am struck by the immaturity and lack of independent thinking of the Obama supporters. Their behavior reminds me of the throngs who idolized GWB not so long ago. Hillary deserves to have her name placed in nomination. Obama will still win but this is a historic occasion and the first viable woman running for president should be allowed the opportunity for her name to be put in nomination.
Hillary turned out to be a big fat liar, like Bush and McCain. Haven't we had enough of those? Obama isn't nearly progressive enough for me, but he's exactly right on the war, and I will vote for him.
Obama is simply a tool of the Illinois/Chicago political machine. If you want Chicago Mayor Richard Daley and his corrupt machine to run this nation, then vote for Obama. I was troubled by the Obama campaign's misogyny, and observrd how he sat, with his arms folded like a dominant male, as Hillary made her speech asking people to support her. Obama lost me completely when he, the constitutional attorney, caved in and voted for the FISA bill. A first-year polisci student would know better than this empty suit who would be president. Hillary, bless her, actually voted for the Constitution. And Obama wants us to 'trust him?" I believe there is a lot of buyer's remorse right now amongst Obama supporters.
Get it through your head: Hillary Conceded to Obama! You people do not even realize who is driving this measure. It is Rush Limbaugh who is driving the Republican Moles that invaded the Democratic Primary! How soon you forget "Operation Chaos". http://blatherwatch.blogs.com/talk_radio/2008/03/rush-the-vote-i.html You freaking people are falling for his bullshit, hook, line and sinker. Just check the Political Contributions of the most OUTSPOKEN critics, all of them were republicans until they changed their registration to Democratic just so they could vote for Hillary, because the Republicans know that beating Hillary is a breeze, but they don't know Obama and don't think they can beat him. Wake up, you are being played as pawns in this private political game of the Republicans making!
It is so telling of Hillary's character that at this historic moment for Senator Obama, Hillary wants to over shadow it...I really don't care if they call her name at the convention, but after that can she just SHUT UP and GET OUT OF THE WAY! I am so sick of hearing her supports ranting about her historic moment. Do you really make history by coming in second place? I am sick of hearing about poor Hillary and the sexism that she endured...No real feminist would start crying when things get tough...they would push back harder...poor Hillary the boys were pickin' on her... Add her name at the convention, but THE HISTORIC MOMENT IS SENATOR OBAMA'S. And to poor Shelia and her heart surgery analogy -- here's another analogy for ya -- the top tech companies don't look for years of experience. They want fresh minds that are not tainted by experience and the way things are done...they want fresh college GRADS to come up with new ways of thinking -- the way things could be not the way things are...years of experience doesn't mean that you are right. It just means, that you have been around for a long long time. I'd rather have the younger man with a brilliant mind as president instead of the older incompetent one.
Obama has too much baggage. I will vote for John Mccain. Obama is telling everyone what they want to hear. Obama does not have the experience that we need to handle the issues we will be faced in the next 4 years. Nancy Peloski and Reid has to go when they come up for election.
HOLY GUACAMOLE!!! I thot i lost my place and found a January 2008 leftover post. If Hillary won the nomination WHO THINKS she would offer Obama a recount ? ? ? IF OBAMA FALLS FOR THIS... All i want to say is GET YOUR FRIENDS REGISTERED TO VOTE.... OBAMA IS THE MAN!!!
I believe that Obama will do everything in his power to change the way we have been executing the conventions for these past years. To put Hillary on the ballot would be political suicide, and BO knows this. Hillary will win if her name is on the ballot, BO is running scared. Hillary must do all she can to ensure that her name is on the ballot. The DNC keeps saying that she will be in the vote, but the vote is different than the ballot, the ballot is what is required to win the nomination. They are playing with those of us who want Hillary's name on the ballot, they are playing with words to try to disguise their intentions to keep Hillary off the ballot. Keep insisting that her name be on the ballot, we have the right to have her name up for nomination, they have no right to try to change the way we have been doing things thus far, yet they have succeeded in many ways, May 31, for example, rules and bylaws were not followed yet nothing was done about it. They gave BO delegates that he didn't even earn, yet nothing was done about it. The DNC, Howard, Donna, Nancy, they think that the average American wont fight for their rights, but they were wrong. We are tired of being second to your power plays and decisions that will impact our lives, we must have a vote and have that vote count, we don't want our government making decisions on who should be our president and who shouldn't. That is the job of the American people, not super delegates, the DNC, Howard, Nancy or Donna. The American people decide who we want on the ballot, and we must ensure that that is what takes place. Thank you for all the hard work you do on our behalf. I for one am behind you one hundred percent, and I am pretty sure that 18 million others agree with me. Puma Democrat blog.pumapac.org One Love
This primary campaign never ends does it? Even after Sen. Clinton conceded and threw her support behind Sen. Obama. The posts in the comment section here remind me of the people who refuse to believe we really landed on the moon or that 9/11 was an inside job. And nothing you say can convince them otherwise. I also love the repeated claim by many Clinton supporters that she is "the only Democrat who could beat John McCain.",,,,even though polls say otherwise. Actually, this year....I think most of the Democratic nonimees would have beaten McCain or any other Republican. Edwards, Dodd, Biden, Richardson, Clinton, and Obama would all beat McCain or any other Republican, as long as the party isn't divided. This is a year when "generic Democrat" beats "generic Republican" by 20 points. The reason they are negotiating Clinton's role at the convention is that they don't want a circus like at the '68, '72, and '80 conventions where the party was divided and lost that November to a unified GOP. Sometimes 'perfect' democracy is the enemy of 'good' democracy if it results in your least favorite candidate winning.
I AM ALL FOR THE ROLL CALL AND OPEN VOTING... AND I DID SEND $$ FOR HILLARY... THE PARTY HAS DONE A DISSERVICE TO THE PRINCIPLE OF DEMOCRACY... IT HAS APPOINTED OBAMA...WITH THE HELP OF THE MEDIA...
Watching how the democrats can't run a primary and a convention makes you wonder how they think they can run the country.
Yes! Put her on the ticket - I'll bet she wins yet.
Florida voters feel disenfranchised not to mention Michigan. The DNC botched this in a big way and that's why this issue is still around and it's a legitimate issue. Many people are still questioning how B. Obama attracted the numbers of voters he did. The explanation is simple. The media has been in the tank for Obama from the get-go. Clinton supporters are just asking for fairness and an equal shot. What's wrong with that?
It is shocking to see that many Clintonites still can't join reality and even admit that Obama won the right to be the Democratic Candidate. They don't care that they are deliberately forcing a divide between men and women on this "Clinton" issue. They're really brainwashed is more like it........
Hillaryin2016 July 15, 2008 3:43 PM "This primary campaign never ends does it? Even after Sen. Clinton conceded and threw her support behind Sen. Obama. Ha! ha!...so very true.......delusion has struck hard.....
I say go Hillary I won't vote for Obama and plan on writting her in. I do not think he is able to run the country hasen't enough common scense and I don't like the idea that we should learn another lanuage this is America Obama so if you don't like it leave and let us have Hillary. The Idea that our children be required to learn another lanuage I say no hell no. He doesn't understand the working people and Hillary does.
You people make me laugh..."Put her on the ticket - I'll bet she wins yet." SHE LOST...and if by some hocus pocus miracle, she steals the nomination from Senator Obama, do you really think she will win the election and become president? I mean, can you tell me how on this God's earth will we do that without the black vote? No democrat has ever won the election without their vote, and they are just going to forgive because SHE WANTS TO BE PRESIDENT SO BAD THAT IT DOESN'T MATTER THAT SHE LOST THE PRIMARY...Wake up people, she lost, and she deserved to lose by the way she ran her campaign...I hope all you wailin' Hillary folks are sending her money, because she has a $20 million debt -- so fiscally responsible...I wouldn't let her lead me to the bathroom...let alone lead my country.
Obama totally lost me with his shocking FISA vote and his lame rationalization for so blatantly disregarding the Constitution. I can't vote for McCain, but I would now vote for Hillary.
This is the first time I had visited this site, and I must admit to being disappointed. As an older (67), white, female, (Kennedy) Democrat who has lived in a red-State (Virginia) for the past 30 years, I was delighted that the Party had such a wealth of talented candidates at the beginning of the primary season. While my original number-one pick (neither Senators Obama nor Clinton) did not make the transition to become the candidate, I have always tried to remember that these two candidates were presenting themselves to be the Party standard-bearer for the (overwhelmingly) shared positions they share. Since there really is no provision in this country for co-presidents only one candidate could end up winnng. These days a Convention is one of the last major opportunities for the nation to see a "unified" Party gearing up for the actual "fight", that is, with the Republican Party. For whatever temporary satisfaction those who seek to disrupt this would receive (MSM will just love the soap-opera; they don't want to discuss the issues anyway), you can be assured that if these actions cause any/some/much disruption of the Obama candidacy, it will go down in history books not under the names of these "partisans," but as Clinton. Whatever anyone's opinions of the ins-and-outs of the primary, both she and former President Clinton deserve better.
This is primary reason women should stay out of the electoral process. If they lose they cry foul and want to pick up their marbles and go home pouting. This is a contest, he won fair and square. She lost GTFOI! Menopause is detrimental. Stop pouting, get over it. You all are an embarrassement to all women! Next time bring you A game.
So Cindy, because of Obama's vote on FISA, you are willing to hand the presidency over to McCain? That is just ridiculous...actually Obama's positioning has been brilliant. The republicans cannot figure out how to pin anything damaging on him. Obama needs to make these moves to win! If Obama doesn't win, then our country will remain in despair along with our constitution in tatters. Is this what you want? GROW UP. He is trying to win an election.
Any self-respecting woman that has the most basic level of common sense, should be able to see through the gutter-level language that's been posted here. Does it do anyone any good to talk nasty and call the candidates and each other all kinds of childish names? What happened to intelligent discourse about real differences? Obama's not a bad buy, Hillary's not some all-powerful-I'm-gonna-rule-or-else, McCain's just coming from a different perspective than the other two. The DNC is where all your anger should be directed. The process is so flawed that we are seeing the death of democracy. Caucuses mean more than votes and superdelegates....well I can't say anything good about that idea either. Write to everyone at the DNC and the rules committee. Contact your democratic legislators. Tell them that this has GOT to be fixed, or they NEVER get your vote or your dollars..........EVER AGAIN.
To Hilary's most ardent supporters: She lost because the Obama campaign "out organized" the Clinton campaign in every single "caucus" state. That was the margin between victory & defeat. Stop blaming Obama for what you perceive as "media bias" against Hilary. Blame the media if you must, but don't penalize Obama and our nation. We need a President who's smart enough to keep us out of the "next" uncessary war.
Hillary For Vice President ... and, eventually her own 8 years in office following end of term(s) Of Sen. Obama. I think they both have common goals and; moreover, are both professional enough to lead this nation together out of chaos....each in their own respective roles -- God Help America.
People wise up Obama is not what everyone has made him out to be. Yes we should allow Clinton on the ballot at the convention if it is to be it will. If not all the Kool Aide drinkers better get ready for what awaits us. Or Pray that we have some very smart officials in this cabinet because this is a little diffrent than a community job.
What is it with the sniper math? Clinton - 17.4 million votes (you are supposed to round DOWN) Obama - 17.6 million votes Looks like the O won the "popular vote" But that DOESN"T matter - it is the won delegates that count and he won more (those claiming cheating offer NO PROOF because there is no proof) Obama won the fundraising race Obama got the support of the majority of superdelegates Obama won more contests - and yes he was not only MORE organized and had people on the ground who knew what they were doing, MANY state were IGNORED by the HRC campaign out of incompetency and arrogance. And the person who said "in every state where there was a primary and a caucus..." you fail to state HOW MANY and it was JUST ONE STATE Texas and many in the exit polls were Repubs saying they were doing the Operation Chaos in voting for HRC. The proposal will only result in more chaos and division. Hill had everyone behind in the beginning and all the money and SD support and she blew what should have been hers. Get over it! Things like this only perpetuate the myth (or confirm the fact) women are not fit for public office much less POTUS. I disagree with that but those supporting this are helping perpetuate it.
Hey Weezee, It looks like the lowly "community organizer" out smarted the most powerful political family...I actually want a man with a brain running the country, not a person relying on their name, but unfortunately, the majority of this country doesn't vote in brains, they elect a beer buddy! Pity us.
Se. Clinton didn't lose the nomination "fair and square" as someone here has said. There's nothing "fair and square" about the decisions taken by the Rules Committee of the DMC regarding Florida, and especially Michigan. Votes are votes. To not count them or give them to a candidate who is not even on the ballot is undemocratic and outrageous. I thought they were different, but the Dems are even worse that the Reps, treating one of their own elected senators like that. Lets have the roll call at tjhe convention for Hillary Clinton, the candidate with the largest number of votes in the history of the primaries. Let's see if "Precious" really has the votes after his shameful flip-flopping.
Dear Venus, Just because one says a lie often enough doesn't make it the truth. Find the truth below: Find the REALITY OF MATH below: The proper vote total would be thus: Obama: 17,961,505 48.1% Clinton: 17,916,838 47.9% http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2008/pr... And regarding MI and FI...they broke the rules...EVERYONE agreed that their votes would not count...then hillary cries like a kindergarten, because she needs them...trying to change the rules in the middle of the game...clearly desperate...No one talks about the people that stayed home on primary day in MI and FL, because they were TOLD THAT THEIR VOTE WOULD NOT COUNT...And FL had a record turn out not because of Hillary, but BECAUSE THERE WAS A REAL ESTATE TAX ON THE BALLOT! BTW...DELEGATES are what get you the nomination...stop whining already...SHE LOST!
Obama barely won the Democratic nomination and now he acts like he is Moses leading his people to the promise land and anyone against him faces retaliation. Familiar? Yes, the Bush Administration. We still have the King but he has gone from white to black. If Hillary is mis-treated at the Democratic Convention then I will vote for McCain and so will my family.
It really is amazing how much we American never take responsibility for our own actions. I've always been a big supporter of the Clintons even up till today but they made a very big mistake which any one in politics shoudn't make and that is "never underestimate your opponent" and they made that mistake. They planned on wrapping up the nomination by february if memory serves me right. I think it's ridiculous for people to start calling for a new vote at the convention because they felt jilted, Hillary was not cheated out of anything. She played the game and she played it right but she just got beat by a better planner. To beat the Clintons can never be easy especially with Bill who i regarded as one of the smartest politician of our generation. The Clintons even understood where every thing went wrong and even James Carvelle who i have alot of respect for knew it too. Come Nov, we can either get this morons out of office or we can let them screw us up some more. Hillary's supporters, you have a choice to make and most of you needs to get over yourselves. Life is not always going to be fair and in this case, NOTHING WAS STOLEN FROM YOUR CANDIDATE............
Senator Clinton must have all the opportunities as all historic democratic conventions have had in the past, as a formidable candidate and the unique instance in american history of a viable, capable, possible and probable female candidate for the position of POTUS. This is no mean or little achievement in the political history of this nation! This is as great a historical and political moment in our history as those american revolutionaries had to confront 200+ years ago ! This nation must fight for its right through the might of the real people like the Clinton supporters and advocates who are determined to fight as revolutionaries on this modern political front. The last bastion for a great democratic republic is that in which a nation picks those who are nominated by those delegates empowered through a long primary process. if this nation is to continue forging ahead and confronting the most dire problems and issues in its history at this point in its national and political life, such a political candidate as Senator Clinton MUST BE GIVEN their opportunity to be in contention as equally with any other candidate, to be chosen "by the people, and for the people" of this nation. Only the Clinton brand can withstand the oncoming problems, issues and provide viable solutions with the mental and political will to be able to make this national effort one that will see the "light at the end of the tunnel". God Bless America and God Bless Senator Clinton!
I really cannot believe that you Hillary supporters are going to hand the presidency over to John McCain. How vengeful can you be? It sounds like you are all willing to salute President McCain, but are you really ready to wave good bye to your right to choose? Are you all willing to continue to work for less pay than men, because McCain thinks that's just fine? Are you willing to stay in Iraq forever, because McCain has no exist plan... When will people would start to put their COUNTRY FIRST? This country does not belong to Hillary Clinton. I belongs to the American people, and they made their choice...Senator Obama won both popular vote and delegates...SUCK IT UP AND HELP MOVE THE COUNTRY FORWARD! WE HAVE CHILDREN TO PROTECT!
I certainly wouldn't vote for the nominee of any party that would allow someone like me as a member.
Lida, who has the right to violate my constitutional rights and have my vote only count half. The DNC was aware that the reaction today, by the Just Say No Coalition would happen. The voters were already outraged to have their voices heard. But the DNC refused to listen to the voters before the finall straw in May. Some members of the DNC Rules & Bylaws committee even spoke about their concern for the voters during the hearing. What voters were saying even before the May meeting: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WgyqWydgLz0
tlintx, What about the "constitutional rights" of the people in MI & FL that stayed home, because they were told that the vote would not be count? No one seems to be caring about the disenfranchisement of those US citizens. If you look at the polls from MI & FL, the people there appear to be moving behind Senator Obama. They seem to be getting over it, and I suggest that you do the same. I think your whole "constitutional rights" cry is nothing more than an excuse to hand the election to McCain and turn back women's rights more than 40 years! All, so you whinny women can say, "I told you so." Just how bitter can you be? People, IT'S ABOUT COUNTRY, NOT ABOUT HILLARY!
Where I come from we have no use for liars and thieves, and Mrs Clinton proved to me that she knows how to spin one heck of a tale. I could never quite get pass the Bosnia story. My sister and her husband are both in the Marines having served this country in Desert Storm and now in Iraq and Afghanistan, not to mention other places they have been called to serve in between. For the person aspiring to be the POTUS and to pretend to understand what it feels like to actually have to duck and dodge fire was unforgiveable to me and my family. She never really apologized either, she continued with the smug, elitist attitude that she acquired midway thru the campaign. She lost us then and I don't think she'll ever get us back. Obama 08
I'm disappointed that Hillary Clinton isn't going to be nominated for the Democratic ticket. I think she is well more suited for the position as President in the fact that she has been in Washington for a long time and knows what is going on. Not that I am against Mr. Obama -- I just don't think he is as qualified right now.
Dear Birdy Bee, You must be missing the news from the past few days, but it seems like the Bush administration is being forced to finally FOLLOW THE FOREIGN POLICY that SENATOR OBAMA has been promoting for the past year and a half...it is a foreign policy that is appreciated by most other nations. Sure hide behind your "I just don't think he is qualified right now," statement." Is that really the reason? So, you think McCain is more qualified than Senator Obama? Have you seen who his economic advisers are? Most of them have ties to our financial mess or to President Bush, oh, they are truly qualified to drag us down even further...Can you picture a McCain Supreme Court...While other nations become more progressive, American, the First World, turns back the clock on the 21th century. The future of this country will be safer under the brilliant leadership of Senator Obama...but people like "birdy bee," think McCain, who graduated at the BOTTOM 1% of his class, is more qualified. People get what they deserve when they vote...just take a look at the brilliance of voting for Bush TWICE...Isn't our beloved American in a better place because of him and his "qualifications?"
It saddens me to see the language used on these blogs. There should be a vote at the convention and no one needs to be disrespectful, nasty and ignorant it was after all a very close race. Freedom of speech is one thing .... but name calling does NOT win respect, votes or support, no one wants to read it. Post your comments like an adult and they might be read. Ranting, anger and name calling turn people AWAY from your candidate.
I left the Democratic Party and after weeks of serious thought I have decided that I will not vote the election either. I am so disillusioned by the entire process.
I am one of those people from florida who was told that our vote would not count. First of all, I didn't believe that they could do that, so I voted anyway. I wonder why the primary was held in the first place? In these days of so many hardships why would someone squander a huge amount of money on a primary that would not count???
Dear 1buccaneer, I hope that Senator Obama can count on your support...I'm sure you realize that the candidates did not make up the rules, they just agreed to the rules that were decided. The people of MI and FL should be angry with their local officials and not the candidates. I truly hope that you do not decide to stay home on election day...our vote holds the future. Don't let other people decide your fate.
Hey, I support Hillary and would love to see her nominated. But, Obama supporters seem so angry to me: Please Hillary voters before you decide to stay home, I hope you will give a strong hard look at McCain. He has some great ideas like: he plans to do away with all internet taxes, so you can buy over the internet no matter where you live in the United States and not have to pay taxes on the purchase. I love this idea it is going to pump new blood into making online transactions. McCain is running a good honest campaign ... give him a look you just may be surprised.
Why you all are acting like it's game over, even the first pitch hasn't been tossed. Let the convention come to order first. The way things go with this DNC we might not even have a real gathering of the states' delegations, but just one big celebration of second coming. And then the clouds will part, angels will sing and we will all be lifted up, up into blisstopia. Leaving the bitter, gun toting old folks behind for backgammon and mah jong. I am all for it, good riddance of the cool-aders.
Are you kidding me??!?? Ladies, it's over. Instead of this waste of time and mindless Denver coup attempts, turn your attention to helping her recoup some of her staggering debt, so that "hard-working" little guy vendors can pay their bills.
You think there's just a FEW of us? I will not donate to a candidate who I do not support. Him or his nasty bloggers. Hill Yeah!
"She and her hubby are so lame. Let her fans stay home. Obama doesn't need them and this country certainly doesn't want them. This pretty much sums up why I won't be voting for Obama if he gets the nomination in Denver. I thought I would be wearing his campaign buttons this fall but there are a lot of Obama "fans", as in "fanatics", who have made it all too clear that his party is not the truly Democratic party anymore. This comment from one of them as well as Brazille's comment about the new order disenfranchises what used to be the Democratic base. Now, to them, I'm just a "fat, old white woman" who is "racist." As a veteran of the U.S. military, a person who suited up to give their "last full measure of devotion" to country, I am appalled by these remarks from Obama fans who seem to think, by their comments, that they are entitled to their candidate over and against the hard-won democratic processes that Americans gave up their lives to protect. The FDR ad that The Denver Group ran is spot on. Glad to see that their are patriots who have the courage to speak out -- rather than merely post sniping comments on blogs. Jennifer/Washington State
most of you are right on the money about Obama, he does not stand a chance in **** of winning. The answer is simple, the US is not ready to accept a Black for president. you all can hide behind i.e. not qualified, too young, no experience etc. The news media will not cover MCCain, because they are waiting for Obama to say something, anything that is not agreed to, so they can pounce all over him. Especially to the women, don't scream and put John down when he becomes president!, are you thinking about the good of the country or your own personal feelings! This is not saying any of you are racist, but if you like the country the way it is, by all means, vote for John, I am!
Totally sad reading these posts...I can't believe how anyone who claims to be a Hillary supporter could possible vote for McCain. It is obvious, in this country stupidity trumps intelligence. Ladies, Hillary lost...every angle you look at it - - popular vote -- delegates -- get over it or JUST GET OUT OF THE WAY. We need to take our country back. The WORLD needs us to take our country back. If you don't want to help at this historic moment, then just help McCain win. That is a great tribute to Hillary. The other thing is, I bet not one of you whinny women have sent a penny to Hillary. Yes, you all really care about her. GIVE ME A BREAK! Come on girls, 1 little dollar a piece and her debt is more then cleared. Oh, I guess you really don't care about her that much. All talk and NO MONEY!
let hillary make a come back the only good choice
I don't share Heidi's optomism about a 'fair' vote uniting the Dems. The vote might be correctly conducted, but the SDs might be pressured as they were in June. The only thing that will really unite the Democrats is Hillary on top of the ticket. That would be instant unity and big victory. Otherwise 9 million Hillary supporters will not vote for Obama, and about 3-4 million of them will vote for McCain (cites at turndownobama).
Edwina, Please think about the candidates' ages. Clinton/Obama now would be great; it would probably give us four terms in the White House, and Obama would have four terms with a bully pulpit and Air Force One. He's 47 now, so when HIllary finished her two terms, he'd be in his mid-50s, a very good age for President, and he would have gained the experience he needs. But it doesn't work the other way around. Hillary is 60. If Obama went first, she would be 68 before her turn came. Also she would have to give up her own Senate career to serve as Obama's ... assistant, obeying him in everything. For him now, VP would be a step up. For her, VP would be a terrible step down. (See the negative reaction this idea gets on serious Hillary sites such as bitterpoliticz, hillaryis44org, etc)
As for Hillary's campaign debt, Marc Rubin and Heidi Li Feldman are collecting money for that too, as are many other PUMA groups and sites (eg confluence). Marc's and/or Heidi's blog would have details. The debt is complicated but they should have some info on how much money they have collected toward it. It may be that at this point they have already paid off the part of the debt that Hillary was most concerned about.
If you believe in democratic principles, you must support the Denver Group. This is a process, not a coronation. PUMA! And, to the author of this piece, we aren't "a few"; we number in the millions. We ARE the democratic party - we are the base. And that's why Obamabots are so scared.
Why is is that this writer says "a few" to begin his article. The Just Say No Deal coalition has attracted thousands of people who still support Hillary Clinton and want to see her name placed into nomination at the Convention - which is what a nominating convention is supposed to do. Heidi Li and Marc are only two of those people. The Convention doesn't exist to crown a nominee. As winner of the popular vote during the primaries, tHillary Clinton unquestionably deserves to have her name placed into nomination. No ifs, ands or buts about it. Gaias Child - uh, ahem, uh who is it again that's so arrogant? Not the guy who's running around the world with this gigantic entourage, acting like an emperor, instead of somebody who hasn't even officially clinched the nomination yet. I'm sure it's not him.
Why should it so difficult to have an open convention . . . because the superdelegates have already selected the annointed one? McCain is looking better and better.
Demanding that democracy be recognized by the Democratic Party; what a novel idea. Kudos to the Denver Group.
I DON'T BELIEVE IT! The Democratic Pary is divided because of Hillary's sore loser supporters. Get over yourselves. HILLARY LOST. Since when does the LOSER get a second chance? You Hillary zombies are pathetic. By continuing to refuse to accept reality, you're showing just how hard-up and pathetic you really are. HILLARY CLINTON LOST IN THE PRIMARY - GET OVER IT.
It is NOT just women who prefer Hillary for President. She represents a true Democrat for many of us. Obama is a fraud, built by media propaganda. For as many names that are flung at Hillary and her supporters, I'd like to throw a few: Only an idiot would vote for a guy to be president after he only served one year in the Senate before announcing his candidacy, and only an idiot would continue to support a man with hardly any resume, except a background in corrupt Chicago, a man who pathologically lies about his policies and and his background. Only an IDIOT would just the media propaganda that is so in the tank, protecting and promoting Obama, while never vetting him to tell the general public the truth. Only AN IDIOT wouldn't know that he is a follower and a fool, completely duped!! Only an IDIOT would continue to offend Hillary's dems who can and will (if need be) cause Obama to lose. But don't worry, O the idiot is doing a fine job of that himself. He thinks he's a rock star and that offends millions of modest Americans who cannot stand those sorts of tacky displays. You all are so out of touch with America it is SAD! We don't want McCain, but at least we KNOW HIM, you all should be frightened of a media built man, but you embrace it, like fools from a fascist country. You call us dead-enders but you guys are brain deaders.
Dear kat in your hat P.U.M.A, You're sad and full of hate...Hillary lost and that's just the way it is...I think you better go and check on Lincoln's experience before you judge Senator Obama...A person is born with brilliance...it is not something that comes with experience...poor McCain, he could be in Washington for 100 more years, and that would make him one bit brighter, but he's your kind of guy...dimwitted. I guess you can identify with that.
what the hell 4 hours and my comment STILL is not up? Nice work. :/
Wondering where is my post from yesterday morning?!
I support Obama. But let her have her vote, as long as she is not VP. Obama is leading in every national poll, the supers will not overrule the pledged delegates in such a case. Let's face it--Hillary ran a horrible campaign. She had the lead in every poll in 2007, and name recognition. The nomination was hers to lose---and she lost it! If she had competed in the caucus states, she might have won, but she wrote them off. Hillary also managed her campaign budget really badly, running it into debt. Dumb, dumb, dumb. This presidential election is too important to have a bad campaigner like Hillary as our standard-bearer. I don't think many Hillary supporters in the primary are really going to risk having McCain nominate the next few supreme court justices and lose Roe, among other things. And let's face it--if there REALLY was a large constituency for Hillary, they would be paying down her debt. But democrats don't care about Hillary's financial mismanagement. Dems donated 52 million to Obama last month, because they want and expect Obama to win. If there were really a lot of die-hard Hillary democrats out there, they would have donated enough money to retire her debt. But she is just getting a very few donations--and only about $2 million for her. So that shows that while there are a few posters who claim that there is a big Hillary fan base out there that won't vote for anyone else, the evidence does not support this. This is the biggest non-story of the summer.
Hillary Clinton, It is over for her. She is not the Democratic nominee.
I am a woman and I would not vote for Hillary Clinton. The way she behaved in the primary, she is a disgrace to all women.
One thing that extremists on both sides agree to: no Obama/Clinton ticket. Hillary has her own career in the Senate, and should not get tied up wth Obama. She has stated that she does not want VP and would only accept if requested as a favor to the party. Some people seem to think we PUMAs would like her to be VP, but that is not true. Whenever it comes up on PUMA sites such as bitterpoliticz, pumapac, hillaryis44, etc, the consensus is strongly against it. Let Obama sink or swim on his own. We'll let (or help) McCain win this time, then a real Democrat can run against McCain in 2012.
YOU ARE A BUNCH OF IDIOTIC DEMOCRATS STAY AT HOME, VOTE FOR MC.CAIN OR FOR LIBETERIANS , DO WHATEVER YOU THINK IT IS UR RIGHT TO DO ............ WAKE UP, WE HAVE A NOMINEE FOR OUR PARTY , YOU NEED TO GET OFF YOUR HIGH HORSE AND REALIZE THE TRUTH OF THIS ELECTION STOP THE MADNESS , EVEN H ROTTEN CLINTON WANTS IT OVER AND DONE WITH YOU ARE ALL MAD AND SENATOR OBAMA DOES NOT NEED YOU GO HOME , JUMP OF A CLIFF WHO CARES ?????
To Hillary Clinton voters: Please think long and hard about what you are doing and saying that will divide the Democratic Party. I am a Hillary supporter, but out of respect for her, I am going to vote for Obama. If you are really her supporter, then you would respect her wishes and support the Democratic Nominee. on't you all realize that if Obama loses, everyone is going to blame her and I don't want that to happen. The Primaries are over and our candidate lost. Senator Obama is a fine candidate and I am going to vote not just for him, but for the Democratic Party. John Mccain will take us back to being pregnant and in the kitchen if we elect him. He has no respect for a wonam's right to chose. How can you elect a man like that. Womens rights are important to Hillary Clinton and should be important to all of you. Support her wishes and vote for the democratic nominee. She do not need a roll call at the convention. I think that is divisive for the party.
hear we go again obama haters clinton los the election because of por campaign she did not win the election when it cames down to it, if she doesnt win u people will vote for mccain good goin. when u have no health care, no jobs because of the poor economy, social security benefits are privatized meaning u will not be able to access them and last but not least have no house to call ur own dont start bitching because hay we wanted another republican to lead us into another 4 long years of depression look in he mirror and say hay i had a hand in the situation. vote november the 4th for a better way of life obama 08
I am a life long Democrat and I am and have been a Hillary supporter for 4 years. We worked so hard and got screwed by the party and the obama machine. I heard and saw a lot during her campaign and I learned that Obama can not be trusted! He lies and changes his position on matters depending who he is speaking to or wants them to vote for him. I will never vote for obama! It will be a waste of my vote but I will either write in Hillary or vote for Nader.
Hey let's see if we can get another Bush in the white house and have Hillary as secretary of state that way we can all go down in flames and McCain as vice president, what's wrong with you people..... I think i will just stay home if Hillary isn't in it ...that's just sick . yea do that, lose your House ,keep gas high yea go ahead . what's the next step Homeless?
For all of you slamming Hillary and her supporters. You must be soft in the head. This is not Obama's party. This is the Democratic Party. People like you and I. The procedure should be followed. If you think O can win without the support of Hillary and her supporters you are nuts. Also as for the 18 million supporter count the votes that were cast for her before you make stupid comments. O does not have the support of the majority of us, just the benefit of the Party machine.
Dear Verland, Obviously you haven't been reading the papers lately. Senator Obama does have the majority of support, and not only that he is bring more people into the party. At this point, if Hillary was nominated by some hocus pocus, she could not win. She does not have the support of the African American community. The democratic party CANNOT win without the THIER vote. A point you PUMA gals like to over look. Even in 2012, she will not win, she and Bill have scorched the earth that stood under the black vote. You are foolish to believe that 18 million people are going throw their votes to the republicans...the majority of Hillary supporters love their country and will help take it back...you my friend, will be standing alone...or at best, in a very small gaggle of vengeful women.
I can't believe tyou people! As much damage as the Republicans have done to this country and John McCain is the same as Bush. How could you even consider anything but voting for the democractic nominee. Hillary lost the race for herself. She did not take Obama seriously until he had won 12 states in a row. They go by delegates not popular vote and it does not matter how much popular vote she had. I can remember a few years back she did not have the undying support she seem to have now? I really am curious. I do believe we will have a great president in Obama. Don't let them fool you with that experience line. Look what we got with all that experience in Washingrton and by the McCain and Hillary have been there with all that experience and it still didn't help. Let's give Obama a chance to help us help ourselves.
she,s not out yet
patsy4310, She's OUT!
I totally agree. It is so disappointing to watch how Obama is ignoring Clinton recently after she wholeheartedly endorsed him last month despite the fact that it is still unclear if Obama has total legitimate democratic mandate.
The uber liberals that have posted positive Obama comments and hateful Clinton comments here forget that Liberals only make up a small portion of the Democratic Party. If it weren't for the hodgepodge created by the DNC to ensure an Obama victory he would not be the presumed nominee today. The Democrats will go down in flames if they do not include Hillary at the convention, or on the ticket. They cannot succeed without her. I only hope they get their collective heads out of their asses before the convention/election. If they don't show the proper respect to Hillary and her voters, they should lose.
Wow some of these comments are so far fetched. Hillary was not pushed out, she lost. I was a supporter of hers until she started the Republican style attacks on Obama. It was hers to loose and she did it to herself. The main goal is to get a Democrat in the White House, that's what we should be focusing on. Let's move on and change this country back to something we can be proud of. GO OBAMA!
ALL OF US WHO VOTED FOR HILLARY IN THE PRIMARY NEED TO HELP PUT BARACK OBAMA IN THE WHITE HOUSE WE HAVE GOT TO GET A DEMOCRAT BACK IN THE WHITE HOUSE...SWALLOW YOUR PRIDE AND VOTE FOR OBAMA...
I am thrilled to see the last few posts on this site from women who are reality based. The goal is getting a Democrat in the White House. Hillary's campaign was a debacle, causing her to lose. All efforts should be towards getting Senator Obama in the White House, capping the half a trillion dollar debt, protecting women's rights, ending the war in Iraq, focusing on Afghanistan, dealing with our energy crisis...I could go on. My point is, there is no time for the "Hillary Distraction." Democrats unite in 2008!
It's not a matter of swallowing our pride it's a matter of preserving our Democracy. We can not let the DNC chose our nominees anymore. We can not let this happen again in our country. Obama's arrogance is going to make him lose this election. We do not trust him nor think he is qualified for the job.Obama has to stop presuming he is already the President because he is not. I hate his arrogance.
What a great article!!! This makes me proud (er) to be a PUMA. The Democratic Party needs to uphold its principles and rules. Period. If you don't agree, you just don't know how the system works. People get ELETED, not selected, in a Democracy. We are in danger of not being a democracy thanks to Obama's thuggish behaivior
Dear Marissa, You obviously "don't know how the the system" of the primary works. It is WON by having the most DELEGATES, and Senator Obama has the most delegates. I don't understand how you PUMAs keep missing this point. You will help McCain win and then blame it on Senator Obama...a very sorry bunch of sad bitter women.
I am a Hillary fan. I am voting for McCain because Obama has very little to show for his 4 years in the Senate. Being a Democrat, I feel that they have not stood by the American people. They want to take off for a month break in August and not vote for the relief of gas prices by other methods or off shore drilling. We Americans need to wake up and see what is going on. Everyone is blaming Bush but the Democrats have a majority in Congress. Why hasn't anything been done. They are pushing Obama who has represented Illinois, my state, and he has done nothing. Check it out before you vote.
Dear Bev Dagnus, You obviously don't understand how bills get passed in congress...Just because the democrats have a majority doesn't mean that they have enough of a majority to pass a bill. They need 60 votes, and they don't have them. WAKE UP BEV, the republicans in congress have stymied the democrats at every turn. It is, because of people like you who are willing enablers of the republican party. I cannot believe any proud democrat would vote for John McCain. It is really sad that you believe off-shore drilling is going to solve our energy crisis...it will take about a decade to have any impact, and it will add about a 2% gain in oil production to the US...yes, that sounds like the solution to me...get with it...we need alternative energy, and we needed it about 20 years ago......NICE TRY THOUGH. I hope you feel really great when you pull the lever for more of the same in NOV. The only reason you are voting for McCain is out of revenge for Hillary...it has nothing to do with Senator Obama's experience. Senator Obama has about as much experience as Lincoln had, and we know what a failure Lincoln was! Why don't you check out the article below and wise up and stop helping to destroy our country! http://www.mcclatchydc.com/227/story/45969.html
Hillary please put your name in at the convention, you have a lot of people talking about writing your name in on the ballot. Please, please reconsider and run. Our country needs someone that knows what they are doing. Thanks Lue
I'm still waiting for all you people begging Hillary to "put her name on the ballot and run," to explain to me how the heck she is going to win without the African American vote. Ooops! You gals haven't thought about that. I mean this question doesn't require that much mental heavy lifting...answer is, SHE CAN'T! Give it a rest and move on. Our country is suffering, people are dying and all you guys can talk about is HILLARY, HILLARY, HILLARY. I never thought I'd see the day when I start to think that maybe Ann Coulter was right when she said that women shouldn't be allowed to vote.
Lida be ashamed of yourself. You should be. How do you expect Obama to win without us Hillary voters??!!! You're the fool. Come November Obama won't need a VP if he doesn't pick Hillary. You need to keep quiet. People like you are alienating the party and dividing it irreparably. It's too late for you and Obama. You should have united the party while you could. If he can't unite the party by picking Hillary, how is he going to unite white and black America? Shame on you and Ludicrous for your incredible ignorance- countin your chickens way before they hatch - just like Barrack!
Why is it that the Clinton supporters, are being called the sore losers? From most of the Obama supporters, all we hear are mean and nasty things. Please get over your big-headed selfs. If Obama had lost the race with it being this close, not only would you demand a vote, you also would be peed-off. What gives you the right to say we don't deserve to have our voices heard? Grow-up this is not so much about Obama, as it is about the way THE DNC was sneaky in the handling of the votes in Fla. and MI. And if you Obama supporters don't feel that you need our votes to get him elected, then why are you so mad? If you as Democrats, leave The DNC get away with it this time, what makes you think for one second your votes will ever be legally counted, you Obama supporters, are the ones who should be ashamed of yourselves for letting this happen. How will this look in the history books, the first Black man with a real chance to win the White House won because The DNC cheated people out of their votes. won't that make for a lovely foot note for Obamas race.
Lida, sounds to me like your making a racists threat. Some much for Obama bringing all the races together. If he can't stop his own suppporters, from making these kind of comments, what in Gods name makes you think he deserves to have a united Democratic Party behind him.
Wherethe heck are my comments?
I think it's quite telling that instead of answering my question you gals chose to attack me. One of you even accused me of making a racist threat. Racist threat? Does that mean you think I'm black...you guys totally crack me up. I'm a white mother of a young child living in a very white state...(not that it really matters) Now getting back to my legitimate question. If by some hocus pocus at the convention, Hillary got the nomination, how is she going to win without the African American vote? You do realize that they are the base of the Democratic Party. No democratic candidate, whether white, black, asian or ORANGE can win the white house without the black vote. How on this God's earth is this FACT racist? Not only are you ladies Hillary diehards, you are also Hillary empty-heads...Quite frankly, I know you gals will be happy with President McCain. Your country suffers while you twits plot revenge at the expense of our nation. No, it is you who should be ashamed. This election is not about Senator Obama. It is about AMERICA. Regarding MI and FI, stop using it as an excuse and get over it because from the looks of polls, they have. They choose to put the needs of their nation first. A lesson you ladies have yet to learn. Maybe, you should go back to kindergarten and find out what happens when one break the rules... BTW, I won't know Ludicrous from lil'kim...
I will never vote for Obama. He is a crook and a racist. I do not believe that he will win over McClain in November. If the illegal caucuses were changed to Primaries, Hillary would definitely be the Democrat Nominee. The caucuses do not speak for the whole state, only a group of loud mouth activist.
Seascapes, You are probably right that Senator Obama will not win in November, but the fact that our country will not be the better for it, doesn't seem to bother you one bit. Also, the caucuses were fine for everyone else that came before Hillary, including Bill. Now, that Hillary lost them, they are just plain unfair...give me a break. I never saw such a pack of cry babies in all my life. Do you have an answer to my question? If you think McCain is going to win in November, then you think Hillary is going to run again in 2012...how is she going to win without the African American Vote? She scorched the earth under that vote. Just wondering what plan you gals have...She doesn't have the black vote, she doesn't have the youth vote -- independents? I don't think so...but by some miracle she is going to win. Just because. Just because what? Just because how? There is no rational think here, and our country suffers...I just shake my head in disbelief and disgusted by the spirit of revenge. COUNTRY FIRST.
Lida: If you think that the Clinton supporters are such sore losers, then why waste your time blogging here? Go blog on a PRO-OBAMA site. And what makes you so sure that Obama can win with out our White- ASS Votes. People like you with attitudes like yours just shows how evil of a cult that Obama has as followers.
lida, sounds to me like you have a whole lot of hate in your hearts against Clinton Supporters Why? I have another question for you if Obama had lost to Clinton, by such a narrow margin, would you have not wanted to have a vote at the Convention, If you say no you are lying to yourself? If you had thought for one minute that The DNC, or The Clintons had stolen the race from him, or that you felt for one second that your votes and your voices were not being heard. Then what would you do? Would you be pissed-off? Would you not care one way or another if The Clintons would win? If you can answer any of these questions with an open mind and an open heart, then you would finally know just how used we feel.
Hello folks, I'm writing to let all of you know we just posted a story you may find of interest: Clinton Supporters Wondering: Will She Be Nominated at the Convention? you can find it on our home page www.cqpolitics.com or at http://www.cqpolitics.com/wmspage.cfm?parm1=5&docID=news-000002932848
Lampe, You obviously missed my above post where I stated that I think Senator Obama probably will not win in November, but at this point in time, when our country is in such despair, the electorate will be held responsible for its continued collapse. You have yet to answer my question regarding Hillary winning her way to the White House in 2012, and your attacking me does not hide the fact that you do not have a response. Quite frankly, I had no idea that this was a HILLARY ONLY SITE. I guess, you only want to speak to other Hillary fans. I'm a fan of America, the America before Bush. Remember what we stood for? I want that back, and the answer is not McCain. COUNTRY FIRST.
Lida, I did answer your question. You said how did Ithink she would win in 2012 without AA's vote. My reply to you was how do you think he will win with out White peoples votes now. I guess my answer to you is If one can't win without the other than nobody will win. You on the other hand did not answer my questions , on how would you feel if you thought for one moment your voice and your vote had been taken away from you. This site is called CLINTON DIEHARDS WANT CONVENTION VOTE. What did you think you would find here. PROBAMA supporters only?
Debbie, the only zombies, that are pathetic and filled with hate are you Obama supporters. If you don't like our comments, then by allmeans do yourself and us a REALLY BIG FAVOUR and leave. This is for people who feel that their voices and votes were not counted or heard. We don't go to Obamas blog and write crap about him, so please stop the hating HATERS and leave us alone
I do remember your asking "what makes you so sure that Obama can win with out our White- ASS Votes." I don't remember reading your question about Clinton winning with only the white vote and my answer is an emphatic NO! Maybe if you got off this single mind site every once and a while and did some research you would discover that I am right. ANY DEMOCRAT CANNOT win with out the African American vote. They are the royal base of the party. Reality bites, doesn't it. Regarding your crocodile tears over MI and FI...they broke the rules...Your should have voiced your anger to your LOCAL OFFICIALS for taking your voice and vote away BEFORE the primary. You are again only thinking of yourself and your vote not counting. No one talks about the people that stayed home on primary day in MI and FL, because they were TOLD THAT THEIR VOTE WOULD NOT COUNT only to have the rules changed at the end because whiny women like you, FAUX FEMINISTS actually, didn't like how the game turned out. Enough already...SHE LOST! Stop living in a bumble. Check in with reality, because while your head is stuck in Hillaryland our Country is in tatters. COUNTRY FIRST!
Kudos to all recognizing that Hillary does not need Obama's permission to have her name placed in nomination. The convention process has been the same as long as I can remember. Where was all the outrage when Sen Kennedy did not release his delegates, demanded a place of prominence on the calendar, and did not shake President Carter's hand? During this primary, the DNC and party elders have shown their true colors, they are misogynists personified. They have lost their center and male domination is clear, now they will lose an election that should have been Democrat. Perhaps as Mc Cain nominates new judges, cuts programs and extends our presence in the war, they will get the picture. I am from Florida and I do not forgive the way FL was treated and maligned by Howard Dean and his cohorts, I am a woman and will not allow a party to mistreat me as an abusive spouse and then forgive them and come around and vote their pick, I am a senior (60), and I am disgusted with the demeaning way Mc Cain as a senior is being touted by Obama and company. Conclusion: If HRC is not placed in nomination and is not selected as VP, for the first time in 42 years I will vote Republican. If I don't vote it will be a vote for Obama, my 1/2 vote as Dems gave me needs to count, I am voting against Obama. Actually, I feel good about it.
please make me understand. When a person wins the popular vote and the super delegates pick who they want why have a caucus or primary? I don't get it. Doesn't it matter who the people want? Stupid question.
Dear Mrs. Fernandez: You really should act your age. ANY woman who votes for McCain is a FAUX FEMINIST. You do not care about all the women who will come after you. Obviously, you do not have any granddaughters. You are all willing to wipe out 40 years of progress for women, and for what -- REVENGE! I am a woman too. I marched on Washington for support of women's rights. I was delighted at the beginning of the primary, because I thought we had two great candidates. Hillary's race was over in February, and that was why the "evil misogynistic media" was saying it was over, because MATHEMATICALLY it was over for Hillary. Hillary chose to continue on with the pretense that she somehow could win. It was a dirty trick on her part. She was using her supporters as a bargaining chip to push her way onto the VP slot. She incurred a $20 million debt to gain this leverage and left her supported feeling like they have been cheated out of something, but it was "something" they basically NEVER had. You women are really sad if you are opening willing to sacrifice not only this country but also the future of young women. Can you possibly be that vengeful? This BITTER BETTY CLUB will be the downfall of this country, but I don't think it's anything you ladies should be proud of. COUNTRY FIRST!
Dear George: Hillary didn't win the popular vote. Obama received over 44,000 more votes than Hillary. It's a thin margin, but in this country a vote of one more vote equals a majority. It was unfortunate how the Hillary camp perpetuated this lie of her winning the popular vote. They said it often enough and loud enough that people bought into it, and it BECAME the truth. The only way Hillary wins the popular vote is if you don't count the caucus states that Obama won. Well, that doesn't sound fair to me. What about the voice and vote of the people who live in caucus states? I guess it doesn't matter as long as it benefits Hillary. REALITY OF MATH: The proper vote total would be thus: Obama: 17,961,505 48.1% Clinton: 17,916,838 47.9% http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2008/pr... Another small thing, you don't win the primary or THE PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION with the popular vote. It is won be delegates. Which, quite frankly, I think is stupid and should be change, but for now we can all cry on Al Gore's shoulder. Get behind the democratic nominee – COUNTRY FIRST!
PS - and Lida, do you really believe it will really make a difference who wins, Obama or McCain?!! They're both big bozos. Atleast McCain is a Maverick to his own party, has worked both sides of the isle and pushed through bills and laws. What has Obama done?!! Nothin. He pushed one bill with Feingold for campaign reform THROUGH and then turned around and rejected his own law! -- BOZO! McCain has had 20 years in the Senate and yet polls showed the majority of Americans thought Hillary definitely had more experience than either he or Obama. Obama's "experience" is paper thin.
WHy oh Why oh Why is there no website where I can sign up and vote for Hillary on the spot!!!!!!???!!!!!!! Then we could tally our support for Hillary and show the world we are a huge block of ardent loyal supporters ready to vote for McCain if need be, to punish our own party for selecting yet another ruthlessly ambitious power hungry arrested developed little boy to the office of President. Yes, Obama is a brilliant orator but honestly his void of work ethic pales in comparison to Hillary's exemplary record. He voted "present" 100 times instead of making a decisive yes or no. That's no leader. We need a Madam President, not a "Mr. present". Please, can someone tell me where I can go online and vote for Hillary and make my vote count with everyone else's who are committed to Hillary? Is there no one who knows how to make a website where we can all commit to Hillary and be counted as a single voting block/force? I'm ready to sign up. We don't need another chump ass selfish arrogant little punk in the white house. He wants to make history as the first Black man and yet Obama denies the rightful woman to make history as well. It's disgusting. She's earned it and he's too cowardly to make her VP because she's more presidential than he is - get over it Obama or you won't be needing a Vice President at all. Show some, grow some Kahoonas and pick Hillary for VP or let's all sign-up somewhere to pledge to vote for McCain and send the link to the Obamazombies! I'm talkin about you Lida.
Dear Sam of Kingsland: I cannot believe that you really think Senator McCain is a 21st century president. He even said that he knows nothing about the economy, and he surrounds himself with a bunch of lobbyists who call us "whiners" for talking about our financial state. Everywhere he goes, he has cue cards...he mixes up FACTS...he graduated 5th from the BOTTOM of his class...This country needs a president with a brain, and who is respected globally. Voting for McCain will not help this country...COUNTRY FIRST!
Lida, How dare you say her run was over in Feb. Do you mean to tell that everyone that voted for up till June, had no right to vote for her. And if you marched for Women's Rights, how can you sit here and say that she was treated fair? She had a nut-cracker named after her, MSNBC, had men on who said that when she walked into the room they had to hurry up and cross their legs. You are a woman should be outraged by this behavior, and if your not, I hope you are the one that doesn't have daughters or grandaughters. You are the one who should be ashamed of yourself, the women who are pissed- off because of that kind of treatment towards HRC, have every right to what to be heard, and how dare you say we don't
Lida, explain to me exactly why it is, that if you felt that Obama, was Cheated out of his chance to be POTUS you would not be pissed- off. Seems to me you failed to answer my questions. If the shoe was on the other foot, explain how you would feel. And don't say you would just get over it, because you seem to be very angry for someone whose canidate has a chance to become POTUS. Matter of fact you sound alot more pissed-off then we do.
Dear Lampe, I'm not sure you understand how a primary works. It was over for Hillary in February, because it was MATHEMATICALLY IMPOSSIBLE for her to close the delegate gap that Obama had. Sure, she had every right to finish the primary, but the outcome was a given. She was going to lose, because there was no way to change the delegate count without cheating. She chose to finish the race and incur a 20 million dollar debt – owing a great amount of hard working people money. I hope you're sending her donations. And who really cares about the nutcracker crap. I bet Margaret Thatcher or Golda Meir would have thank them for the compliment and moved on. Hell, I want thighs of steel. Kind of silly to complain about all this macho business, when her own camp was feeding it to the media. James Carville went on tv saying that she had three "cojones," and Obama had one. When ever the race got a little heated, and her opponents when after her over issues, and they had every right to do that, ask Mitt Romney how the feels, she would complain that the "boys were piling on." I mean really, politics is a nasty business, and no one should treat you differently because you are a "girl." You're all upset over treatment that Hillary received, but I don't hear you complaining about the name calling going Senator Obama's way. Her camp called him effete. The North Carolina Gov. Mike Easley basically called him a pansey. Senator Obama didn't start crying. Listen if Hillary won the race without all these distractions and rule changing, then I would be behind her. I am sorry, I really think Obama ran a better primary race than Hillary – in all categories, strategy, message and money. At the end of the day, him won. He is the democratic candidate. BTW, I do not have any daughters. I have a son. I am raising him to be extremely respectful of women. I tell him all the time that girls can do anything and even better than he can. Another thing, I was raised by a single mom. She worked day and night to take care of us girls. I know a tough woman when I see one. Nothing was handed to my mother or me. I am a truly a feminist, but that means everyone plays by the same rules. My rule when it comes to voting is COUNTRY FIRST.
I second Sam in Kingsland. We need to have a site where ALL voters who still support Hillary can vote to show that we are not just a few but MANY. If Hillary is nominated in Denver, she should without question select Obama as her VP. Obama would then get experience that he "totally" lacks now. The end result of nominating Hillary would: Show the DNC that a nominee is not selected by them. It would also give the sountry 16 years of leadership. Hillary 8 and then Obama 8! HIllary now - Obama later
This is my 3rd attempt to post my comment. I agree with the post submitted by Sam in Kingsland. He asked if someone has the ability to set up a web site that would enable Hillary supporter to vote. This would show that we are not just a few. We are MANY!
Phyllis/PA, can you please tell me how the loser of the primary race gets to be the presidential nominee and the winner gets the VP slot? Doesn't sound in the least bit just, but I guess it does matter to you gals. It looks like Maureen Dowd from the NY Times was right when she said you ladies want to "enshrine the whine" at the convention. If Hillary was so experienced, why was her campaign such a mess? Give it a break..COUNTRY FIRST!
LIda, it was only mathematicallyimpossible as you say, because all the Super Delegates and Delegates, did not wait till THE DNC CONVENTION like their supposed to . If they hadn't come out like they did in June Obama would not be the PURSUMPTIVE CANDIDATE. You do know what the word PURSUMPTIVE means don't you? They lied and cheated their way to a win. IS THIS WHAT YOU WANT YOUR SON TO LEARN,IF YOUR A MAN YOU CAN LIE AND CHEAT YOUR WAY TO THE TOP.And all thi\ose things you said Obama did sounds just like P.R> to me. That's alot of so-called laws to enact for a first term senator.
Lida, do you think it's fair that he passes so-called bills to all Black Colleges? Why are their even allowed to be all Black Colleges? When there were all White Schools, we were called racist, and Blacks demanded to be allowed to go there, but now you see the opposite happening here and that's okay right?
Lida, please don't worry yourself sick over if, or how much I gave Sen. Clinton. I wonder how much illegal money Obama got? I wonder if any of it was DRUG MONEY, you do know criminals can't vote right. Don't start mud slinging ,if you don't want it back.
I agree with Phyllis/PA someone set up a web site that would enable Hillary supporters to vote. It will tell the whole story we do not support Obama.
Exactly how long does it take for comments to be posted on this blog?
This is for all you first time voters, or for people, ( and you know who you are, that never cared about their Country before.) First- time voters, go and ask your grandparents, or your parents, if this is the meanst, nastiest, evil election they ever seen.Because if you think this is bad, just wait to the 527's hit Obama, if you think this is mean maybe your not really ready to vote yet! And for people who never voted before, not all of you, but some of you are voting for one reason and one reason only. You and I both know why, as do alot of other people. Please vote with your mind not with your heart. I don't think Obama would want to win just cause of that, I think he would rather win for what he stands than for who he is.
Here's a message for Obama, and all his big-head supporters. Proverbs warns. " PRIDE GOETH BEFORE DESTRUCTION, AND A HAUGHTY SPIRIT BEFORE A FALL."
Dear Lampe, Proverb warns "THE SIMPLE INHERIT FOLLY." I have no idea who is feeding you DNC Convention Rules, but Obama was way ahead of Hillary in terms of delegates in FEBRUARY. I'm not talking about super delegates. I talking DELEGATES that he won, and from that point on she was NEVER going to close the delegate gap. At the end of the primary Obama was way ahead in delegates – the super delegates pushed him to the needed number to get the nomination. In order for Hillary to have "won" at the end of the primary race, Hillary needed way more super delegates, but the super delegates were going with the "will of the people" from their state. Regarding Obama's accomplishments, I'm sure you know, that he was in the State Legislature of IL for a decade. He is now a Senator, and until recently, he was a constitutional law professor at the University of Chicago for 12 years. Well, I guess if you want to get rid of all black college like you do, then, we should get rid of all women's colleges too. Oh, wait, didn't Hillary go to an all women's college? An all women's college sounds pretty sexist to me. Isn't that reverse discrimination for men? I'm not even going to respond to some of your race tinged comments, because you obviously have issues. DRUG MONEY? ILLEGAL MONEY? CRIMINALS? I think your remarks speak for themselves. Regarding all the young voters out there, believe me, they are voting with both their hearts and minds. It is THEIR lives at stake. They are looking for a 21st century president. It is not about politics for them. It's about COUNTRY!
The pro-Obama Democratic Party is running this process like a machine and not like a democracy. THis same crap happens with union politics- a supposedly "democratic union" runs a convention by squashing all dissent, the majority candidate engineering a mass walk out of delegates, refusing to even listen to the opposition candidate. This is not the way to run the process at this year's Dem Convenetion. THis campaign has been too important, too emotional, too inspiring for all of us not to allow Hillary and her supporters a chance to show in public the incredible movement she lead in this election. If Obama has secured support with the super delegates, he will get it at the Convention. There is nothing unusual about a candidate without the "magic number" of delegates placing his name into the nomination. There is something incredibly special and historic about a female candidate who ran such a forceful and inspiring campaign placing HER name into nomination. Obama has to recognize how special this is and be a true leader and let this process run its course in the light of day. We Hillary Dems will revel in the public declaration of the support she got, and we will also pay witness to his. Obama has nothing to lose by promoting and respecting this process, and everything to gain. He ends up looking like more of a leader by protecting the right of Hillary to get her moment in the sun. He will have 4 to 8 years of it - give Hillary her 15 minutes at the Convention. It would convince me to vote for him this Fall. Without this roll call, I'm going to have to write in Hillary in November. I will make sure she has her moment - either at the August roll call or at the November ballot. It is now up to Obama to choose which one it will be.
Lida, my comments, and my opinions, are mine. As I told you the other day, if you or any of the other Obama supporters don't like the comments made on the sit, which in case you forgot CLINTON DIEHARDS WANT CONVENTION VOTE,then go to the I LOVE OBAMA WEB SITE AND BLOG THERE. You and people like with your evil, nasty hate-filled remarks, are really helping Clinton supporters get over it.as you say. so please feel free to leave and not return, I haven't said anything in my blogs that I am ashamed of. OBAMA A MAN FOR ALL RACES. PLEASE STOP WITH THE JOKES I'M LAUGHING SO HARD I THINK I MIGHT PEE MY PANTS.
Simply put....I say that the DNC will NOT allow a vote at the Convention. Otherwise, Obama would not be flip-flopping again saying that he wants all the Florida and Michigan votes to count, in full. Senator Clinton was railroaded by DNC/Dean/Obama/Pelosi/Brazile. After all their hard work I am sure that they will not let Senator Clinton or her delegates have a say. I changed from a registered Democrat (30+ years) to an Independent after the DNC Rules Committee Meeting. They applied no rules - so it was a sham! No to Senator Obama in 2008. His policies will put the U.S. into a depression, he flip-flops on every single important issue (depending on who or where he is talking). I don't feel that I can trust anything he says. But for Senator Clinton...I look forward to her run in 2012!

Simply put - Obama and the DNC made up their own rules to get it their way. Typical Chicago nasty politics.......and Obama is very good at it. He will lose in November. He was unelectable in February and remains that way! McCain 2008 ---------- Clinton 2012
No one mentioned the $112,000.00 given to 15 super d's for their nomination to O compared to $7,500 given to 3 super d's given by HC Isn' this considered buying the nomination? Isn't this illegal? If it isn't it really should be. From the blogs I read, some are implying that BO has been nominated. Not so fast. As Yogi said: It ain't over til it's over. Where is gov't by the people, for the people, and of the people?
Dear Lampe: I really suggest you go back and re-read your commends. Yours are the ones that are full of hate. I'm just stating facts that you ladies don't want to hear. It is very telling that you don't want a person with another point view on this site, and just because the headline to the article is Clinton Diehards Want Convention Vote, doesn't mean it's a Hillary only site. I guess it would be great never to have to deal with reality. The fact is you ladies are willing to destroy this country, because you are just plain mad. Go ahead enshrine the whine. Make it harder for every female politician that comes after Hillary to success. People will remember this very stereotypical behavior of vengeful women – see how far women get after your stunt! Enough politics. COUNTRY FIRST!
Dear AMW: If you are going to post primary results please make sure to post your source. Your numbers are NOT ACCURATE. TOTAL (w/ FL&MI, w/caucuses) Obama: 13,460,645, Clinton: 13,403,104 http://www.usaelectionpolls.com/2008/clinton-obama-popular-vote.html Nothing like a little hocus pocus to your numbers to get the results you want. The ONLY WAY Hillary wins the popular vote is by excluding the caucus states that Obama won, and the my friends is CHEATING! Let it go. COUNTRY FIRST!
Dear AMW: Why don't you look at factcheck.org to see who won the popular vote before you give out false information? http://www.factcheck.org/askfactcheck/did_clinton_win_the_popular_vote.html The only way Hillary wins the popular vote is if she takes all of MI and gives him nothing. 75% of the people who voted uncommitted said the would have voted for Obama...those people where voting for him...you can't give Hillary all her votes and give him zero. Where is the justice for those people...I guess we're not talking fair here...only what's best for Hillary...I don't remember this nation being called Hillary of American....COUNTRY FIRST!
Lida, you still have not answered my question. If the shoe was on the other foot, and you thought for one minute that the race had been stolen from Obama, what would you do? Would you want his name to be put in nomination.? Would you be really pissed and want heads to roll? Would you find a blog where other people feel the same way you do? And would you really be pissed-off if Sen. Climton supporters told you to just get over it? Take your time, read them over carefully, but please be truthful, not only to me, but be truthful to yourself.
Thanks to protection from the main stream media, Obama has become a bumper sticker celebrity. He won states with his charisma in the early stages of the primary that he would not have won if those people knew about him what they know now. If the primary race were to start over, I think Hillary Clinton would have beaten him.
I am outraged that we would not have a vote at our convention! How can we so undemocratic! Hilary got more votes than Barack anyway! Anything other than Hilary is unacceptable!
Lampe, I have answered your question several times with COUNTRY FIRST! I guess you don't get it. The person who won the primary FAIRLY, without screaming for the rules to be changed in the middle of the game, if going to get my vote. I would not want to be part of a stunt that is going to hand the country over to the republicans again. It is not about the candidate. It is about protecting the future of my nation, my son's nation. COUNTRY FIRST!
Jerry, really, now you're going to taint his wins? You want to play do-over? Gosh, you people are really childish and are not thinking about the end result of your actions. Just remember, Senator Obama was still standing at the end of the primary with zero debt. Hard to believe you will stand by and watch the country suffer under another republican administration and feel gleeful satisfaction, because somehow in your twisted mind, this is redemption for Hillary. Senator Obama is far from a bumper sticker. Maybe if you got your head out of hillaryland and did some research you would find that out for yourself. Please don't try to justified your actions by dragging out the meme that the republican party set-up against Senator Obama. What easy prey you all are. The republicans are licking their licks, knowing that your foolish folly will keep them in the white house. I'm sure after you go out and vote for McCain in November, you'll go home and kiss your granddaugthers. Nothing like sacrificing their future for your revenge. COUNTRY FIRST!
Mary, I think you should check your numbers and stop living a lie. Anything other then a DEMOCRAT in office come January is UNACCEPTABLE! COUNTRY FIRST.
Lida, I hope that if Obama, becomes POTUS, your som will have a future. how can you even think about placing the future of The USA, in the hands of a man who for 1) Has no experience at running anything, sorry but being a 3year Senator doesn't qualify you for this kind of job. 2) Change to him means say whatever to get pass the primaries, then change my mind ever other day depending on the polls. 3) He voted for FISA, after saying he wouldn't, you better watch who you talk to on the phone, or watch your hate-filled blogs, because of Obama, you may never know who's listening in. Like it or not Sen. Clinton was First-lady of arkansas, and First-lady of The USA, which gives her some experience with dealing with Diplomats from other countries, unlike Obama, who's playing like he knows what he's doing. And putting Country First, is just an easy answer for you because you don't want to admit that you would be just as pissed- off as we are.
Lida, I don't know how old your son is, but If the people let this go on now, your son may not have the right to vote, when he is old enough. You as a mother say you put Country First, Well you as an American are entitled to have your vote counted, this is your God-given right. If,you as an American let the Government or The DNC, take that right away from you without standing up and demanding your vote and your voice be heard, then you deserve to live it a Country, run by Hypocrits. I on the other will fight for what I believe is right.
Obamass is the wrong man for the job. No experience, no expertise, and no character. Hillary would win against McCain, but Obamass will not as more stink is attached to him daily by people like us, not the media. Spread the word in your towns and cities. NOBama, NOway.
speaking of the 527s! KEEP THE CHANGE OBAMA.
Howard Dean told one of the group in Charlotte on July 25 that the party will give Hillary anything that she wants. If she wants her name in Nomination all she has to do is sign the form. I think that he's playing games.
The nominee is officially chosen at the convention people, by the votes of the delegates attending the convention. That's the way it has always worked, that's the rules. THe nominee is not chosen by the media or a handful of persons. Let her name be on the list, be called and let the votes be tallied. Winner at the convention is officially the nominee. Is someone wanting to change the rules in the middle of the game?
Howard Dean, is a bold-face liar. I will tell you exactly what happened. When this first all the big shot Dems, figured that they would be the first party to get a Black elected,so they put their evil heads together and picked Obama. Now they figured that The Clintons were true Dems, and that they could be talked into helping get this man elected. That was until everybody from blacks and The News ( CNN and MSNBC) started to play the race card, and the sex card against them. when that started to happen, and no one and I mean no one stuck-up for The Clintons, that really made them made, because they have been invovled in Democratic Politics, for like 40 years. This not only showed The Clintons just what kind of people this party has become, but more importantly it showed her supporters. Now that The DNC, is starting to sweat, when they look at the polls, and see The Chosen One, is not further ahead, that are starting to panic, "WHY YOU MIGHT ASK?" Because what they thought would be a win-win situation this year, is turning out to be anything but. One of the reasons is because Obama, was supposed to be the one to transsend race, instead all he has done, is put racism, right out in front again so everybody to get a real good look. If I were The Clintons, and their supporters, I would tell Howard Dean, Pelosi, Kennedy, and Kerry, just what to do with their DNC PARTY AND CONVENTION. Liars the whole bunch of them.
This web-site is HILARIOUS! You people are all delusional. Now, I can see why low-info voters are a gift to the republican party. I guess you have to believe the lies that you are all spewing; otherwise you could not justify your evil-minded folly. I think you should do a little FACT-checking on Hillary's background on working for women's rights. Nothing like strong-arming women to drop their accusations of sexual harassment against Bill Clinton, to show that you will fight to protection women in the future. I think you need to worry about FISA more then I do. This is the most hate-fill site I've ever been on. I think you should check my posts, and then re-read yours. It is a riot that you continue to lie about Senator Obama's experience, only because you refuse to do the research. Totally mind boggling that you think being a First Lady somehow gives you the experience to be president. IQ test should be given before we are allowed to vote. Keep fighting ladies. Your actions will go down in history as the most calculate movement to destroy the country. The electorate will be held accountable. You are centimeters away from being traitors. Pick up your picket signs ladies, march for its destruction. Leave the nation crumbling in your wake. You'll show them. Make Hillary proud. COUNTRY FIRST.
Lida; maybe you should be the one looking for the right information about Sen. Clinton. Not only did she fight for Woman's rights , be she also fought for Civil Rights, you know equal rights for everyone. Maybe you should stop reading all The Pro-Obama books, and read some books that tell the real truth. You Obama supporters are the ones that make this site some much fun. A bunch of Sore Whiners, OH! my bad Winners.
Lampe, Is that all you got? I state fact, you state fiction. I guess you don't know the difference...Don't worry ladies, you'll get your wish. Get ready to salute President McCain and laugh as you granddaughters lose their right to choose, but that doesn't really matter to you gals – "choice" is no longer an issue in your lives. The most important thing to you "bitter Betty's" is revenge...COUNTRY FIRST!
lida; maybe it's time for people your age to see what it's like to have something that you have worked so hard for , for so long to be taken away from you without so much as a second glance. We women ,who are 55+ have been working for The DNC, for over 25+years, to have our votes count. Going door to door to register voters, doing mailings, and all kinds of other jobs. For what you may ask? Well we did it for the good of The Dnc. Now, the first time a woman, has a chance to be on ao equal with any man to hold the Highest Office in the land, what does The Dnc do, they throw us under a bus, and for what another man. So maybe it's time for you younger ladies to get off your backsides, work them off for The DNc, and hope that SOMEDAY, they'll consider you good enough to stand up to a man. Good Luck, and from past experiences I wouldn't hold my breath, if I were you.
Isn't it time for Hillary and Bill to put the unity of the Democratic Party ahead of personal needs and concerns? Hillary will demonstrate her true values by the decision she makes about turning the convention into a Hillary-fest. PLEASE don't undo all the good you did with your spectacular campaign.
The thing that you ladies don't seem to want to deal with is the fact that Hillary lost. That is the plain and simple reality.Delegates are NOT going to switch at the convention. Stop dreaming and wake up. For us under 55+, this election is not about gender. It's about vision. I think it is really narrow minded to just vote for someone, because they happen to be a woman. Where's the feminism in that point of view. You are assuming that I'm not working my butt off for our party, and you also saying to the young people out there fighting for change, that their hard work doesn't matter because you were at it longer...that sounds like something McCain would say...Hillary is even out there saying EVERYONE must unite around the democratic party. You gals are blind to the fact that you are destroying Hillary's chances of EVER running again!..COUNTRY FIRST.
Will somebody please put Bill in the doghouse on a short chain. I was a Hillary supporter until I watched the campaign she and Bill ran. I am a women of her age and also was a loyal supporter of both of them through all of the 1990's, but know I see them differently. They are strictly about themselves not what is good for us!
Can you please think of something else to say, besides Country First?
"sarah July 14, 2008 11:28 AM Do you people want John McCain to win? Do you really want the war ini Iraq to go on for another 100 years? Because that's all you're golng to accomplish with this irrational stubborn behavior. The primary is over. Hillary conceded, and we have our Democratic candidate. Why are you so unwilling to accept that and support Barack Obama as our next president? Because he's a man? Because he's a black man? Get over it and recognize that he's a dyed-in-the-wool Democrat that represents our Democratic ideals, and that he's our ONLY chance to take back the White House in November. " THIS IS THE ONE COMMENT THAT MAKES SENSE. YOU ARE SOME OF THE SAME PEOPLE WHO PROBABLY VOTED FOR THE BIGGEST ASS IN US HISTORY TO EVER TAKE RESIDENCE IN THE WHITE HOUSE! AND YOU WILL BE THE ONES 'CRYING' IN THE NEXT YEAR AFTER THE MCCAINS TAKE RESIDENCE. SO YOU GET WHAT YOU DESERVE!
I despise Hillary Clinton and her creep. Al Gore should be the running mate.I will vote Libertarian rather than vote for a ticket with that Walmart creep salivating in the VP seat. Obama needs someone whom he can work with not fear will stab him in the back.
Lampe, You want me to think of something else besides "Country First?" I couldn't possibly do that. That is want this election is about. It is quite obvious, how easy it is for you to NOT put your nation's needs first...It is beyond politics...COUNTRY FIRST.
If Hillary Clinton's name is not placed in nomination she would be the exception not the rule . Lyndon Johnson's was 1960 Ted Kennedy's was in 1980 and he lost by a huge number. Gary Harts was 1984 and he never had a shot after Monkey Business with Donna Rice. Why shouldn't she been given the same respect as these men? A double standard perhaps sexism rearing it's ugly head again and again very much accepted. it would be a shame if the first woman with a shot would be slighted . It would be historic. What is Obama Nation afraid of.
It is time for all democrats to unite behind their candidate, Barack Obama. the Clintons and their supporters should be good losers and show to the country what the democratic Convention is about: addressing the serious issues that are effecting this country, our people and our freedom. We need a Democratic President now more than ever and we need to unite in our efforts to support Obama.
I have always supported the Democratic presidential candidate and didn't get that involved until closer to the election. However, Hillary Clinton and her husband have done much for the country and the states of Arkansas and New York. Half of all people choosing a Democrat selected Hillary as the presidential nominee so that should count for something. She deserves to be the VP, though I believe she would make the best president. I wanted Hillary to be the presidential nominee and Barack to be her VP. If Michigan and Florida had been counted fairly, I'd be pushing for Hillary to select Barack as VP.
I AM A DEMOCRAT WHO WILL CERTAINLY NOT BE VOTING FOR OBAMA THIS YEAR. I WILL BE WRITING HILLARY IN, OR WHO KNOWS, MAYBE PARIS HILTON, BECAUSE EVEN SHE IS SMARTER THAN THAT IDIOT OBAMA.
Suse, I see you love the state that YOUR country is in right now, because you will vote for 8 more years of this mess. You are far from a Democrat...more like someone who is willing to carry the republicans' water. The GOP counts on low-info voters like you to parrot their talking points. It is very telling that you will vote for McCain, a man who graduated 5th from the bottom of a class of almost 900, over Senator Obama who graduated from HARVARD in the top percentile. Who really is the Idiot? And I'm not referring to McCain...COUNTRY FIRST.
Shari, I think you better go back and look at your math, even in your MI & FL fantasy, Senator Obama beats Hillary by at least 44,000 votes...not much, but he still comes out on top...and by the way, have you forgotten that the road to the white house is paved with DELEGATES...funny how you people want the winner of the primary to take the VP slot. I guess you figure a black man should do the gentlemanly thing and step to the back of the bus...COUNTRY FIRST.
This is politics at it's best and I love it. This has nothing to do with who is the best or who will do the best job. This is the game. I watched it at a Local level and at a State Senat level and it all works the same way. Back room dealing and late night dealings. I will give you this if you give me that. It is a wonderful game and you just have to know how to play it. Bill is no fool at the political game. With him in it anything can happen. So don't count her out just yet. The moves have just begun and we will wait and see just what he will do next. He does not give up easily and Obama may just have to watch his back.
Just one more thing I did not mention in my first comment. I am probably a lot older than all of you so I am sure I know more about how politics works than you do. I was involved in politics on the Local and State Level. I sat in on all the late night cellar meetings with both Democratic and Republic representatives. It had nothing to do with what we could do for the City or the State. It was what we wanted and what they wanted. Or rather who we wanted and who they wanted. Who we would give up this time and they would give up the next time. We had Republicans give up their votes to the Democrats secretely so we could give them who they wanted. Like I said back room dealings are going on right now. Probably Special Delegates are changing their vote. It can happen and I am waiting to see just how Bill does it. He is the best at this game.
Barbara, I think you hit the nail on the head when you stated that because of Bill, "Obama may just have to watch his back," and that is why Hillary will not be the VP. What president wants to be constantly looking over his shoulder...It sounds to Me like you are saying Hillary and Bill are capable of betraying, not only the Democratic Party, but the will of the people, in order to get what they want...not a characteristic that I look for in a president. Barbara, you may find this a game, but people are dying and loosing their homes while you enjoy the backbiting. This Hillary fawning is NOT serving our nation. She is out and she has been out since FEBRUARY...COUNTRY FIRST.
Lida: Your not gettin it. She said all politicians do it. And if you think for one minute that Obama is not part of this game, you are really living in LaLa Land. Obama, got his start in Chicago Politics, He went so far as to have other people's voters placed on Felons List, so their votes would not count. you say that you read all and know all, well I guess you just missed this story right? I would be more afraid of Obama Supporters putting a knife in The Clintons backs, then I would ever be afraid of their supporters hurting him. After all It was his suppoters, they said there would be roiting in the streets if it looked like the Dems, had made any back-room deals that would cause him to lose. I don't think you've ever heard a Clinton supporter threaten voilence, must be we are a different class of supporters.
Barbara, Bill Clinton has meet his match, and his name is Senator Obama. There is not going to be any bait and switch at the Denver Convention. There would be a revolution in the streets that this country has never seen the likes of -- young people, African Americans, independents, and mother's like me, who want more for their children, WILL NOT let it happen...Bill Clinton is trying to save his legacy by appearing to put COUNTRY FIRST.
Lida, I am not saying I approve of THIS GAME, but that is what politics is. Do you really think they care about you and me and what is going on. You have to take what they say, cut it in half, and then maybe believe half of that. It is all rhetoric and saying what you want to hear. This is what it is and we cannot change it, not with talking or with voting because they can cook the votes anyway they want. A good politician can pretty much screw things up. It has been done and I have been part of it because I was there and saw and listened to it. Out of the special deal, we got a Dem. Gov. and Lt. Gov. and one Republican Attt, Gen. This is what both parties settled on. Sad but true. The votes did not matter. So if you think for one instant they are saying everything that they are going to do and mean it, you are wrong. They are saying what you want to hear and there are some Supper Delligates out there who are not committed and she has not released her votes. As I said. I still believe it is anyone's game. Yes, game.
I don't know about you all but I WILL NOT be dictated to vote by the press. The press surpressed all the negitives about Mr Obama for quite a while and that is when Hillary began losing the cacuses. Once the bad news came out about Obama----she began to gain momentum. Was this planned? Think about it. Don't understand why all the talking heads on tv were commenting on the coverage that Obama received in Europe. They acted like it was something new. That kind of coverage as been going on since Feb. I am one of the white, old woman who will not be voting this year. I will not vote for McCain either. I do hope that Obama wins but if he does not-----let's just say ----the wrong candidate was up of elelction.
This campaign has been conducted in the press both thru the primaries and now into the general election. We are all disinfranchised here so it really doesn't matter how you voted. For whatever reason the press wants to support Obama and they have clearly done that in a frank and obvious fashion. I continue to support Sen Clinton as I feel she is the only one qualified to take the ball and run with it as soon as she walks into the oval office. If either McCain or Obama win they will have at least a year of learnng curve and opposition from the other party whereas Sen. Clinton would know EXACTLY what, when, where and most importanlty HOW to have immediate impact on the current problems we face. Anyone who can't see this has their hear in a very dark place between their legs!! So I say God bless us all because we ARE going to need it!
Joan, you don't make any sense. If you want Obama to win then why are you not voting for him?
If people think that Clintons played dirty, then you better buckle your seats. The Republicans are not going to take this special treatment of Obama, to well. Obama is trying to change all the rules. To me this is about, you either vote for a Black Man to be POTUS, or else. Or else what? Well just read Lidas comment a few spaces back. If he doesn't win there will be roiting in the streets. Nice wat to teach your son, about fair-play Lida. If this is the kind of togetherness Obama, has in mind, well than I say "NO THANK YOU." I think you should go blog on Obamas site and let him see the kind of hate, that he has bought to Americans.
please sen. clinton you were right obama is unelectable, he is running dead even in battleground states with mccain, you won them easily in the primarys. stand up and be counted. I feel we are wasting a golden oppurtunity to take the white house this year, for what so we can crow we had the better candidate in a loss. It is apparent if sen obama is our nominee we better start getting ready in 4 years to take what should have been a blowout election this year.
This Obama thing is really getting creepy. It reminds me of the brain washing that Hitler did. YIKES!!!! I will expect the democratic party to have Hillary's name placed in nomination and I also expect that she will win if they do. If they do not I like alot of you other long time party people will move on and I don't mean to . org. I will write in the name of my candidate for president Hillary Clinton and I will not be told by some ditsy little obamite like Lida how shameful that would be. It's time some of these know it all, take it all, do nothing new voters step up and do some of the work , Here you go girls and boys its all yours. Femenist? Maybe never thought I was but never felt so ashamed of my party of over 40 years as I do today. It will be ta ta for now for me. I could never vote republican but I will write in Hillary and it is my right to do so Lida baby.Oh yeah I am mad as hell and I am not taking it anymore and there are millions of us . Believe it
Dear Joan, You actually can do A LOT move than hope Obama wins. You can VOTE for him. It is absolutely despicable that you are willing to let McCain win just so you can say I told you so...Grow up...and regarding the press that Obama received during the primary...He weathered the Rev. Wright fiasco fairly well...I don't really care one bit about Wright....I am sick and tired of "Crazy Christian" controlling this country. Look where they have taken us. Regarding Hillary's momentum after Wright...it's quite easy to win when you are playing to people fears. Heck, just ask Carl Rove, but Obama also won the states that he was expected to...He lost IN by a hair...In other words Hillary lost....There are no excuses in Nov...get out an VOTE. COUNTRY FIRST..
Dear Lampe, Oh, not only am "I'm getting it," I got it. I can laundry list things Hillary said like, "the votes in MI & FL. wouldn't count." Hey, I get the fact the she was just lying so she could win NH.Oh, BTW, I know about Obama's Chicago politics...so much for those calling him inexperienced...looks like he can play politics just as well as Hillary...COUNTRY FIRST!
Lampe, One more thing, your dig regarding "the different class of supports" between Obama and Hilary is clear, you obviously have issues that are not so hidden. It is a known fact that the demographic of Obama is younger, more affluent, and more educated than Hillary's. I guess, in your narrow mind a revolution can only be violent. You obviously never heard of "civil disobedience." Uhm, haven't you gals been threatening to storm the democratic convention? I guess only "white, older women" have a right to protest...COUNTRY FIRST.
Please name for me one thing that Obama has done while in Washington. Where is his foreign policy experience. Where is his National Experience. Where is his home economic experience. Most of all, I don't trust the guy. I don't trust him for one minute. He can talk all he wants about his Black heritage but have you heard him brag about his White heritage. Yes I know he mentioned his mother but that is as far as it goes. He does not mention his Muslim background. The guy is a wolf in sheeps clothing. He has plans for change alright. But you watch out and if he is President you will see change that none of us are going to like. Let me make my self clear. I am not a biggot. If this was to be Clayton Powell he would have me in a New York minute. But he won't run. There is a man who knows what this country is all about and what we need. EXPERIENCE
Lida, where did you get the idea that it is the more affluent and the more educated that are voting for Obama. It is the COLLEGE KIDS who know nothing about politics or the government or foreign policy or the economics of this country. They are the fun loving kids on campus who think they can make a change. They only know that they don't like the war in Iraq for fear that there may be a draft. I have such a child and I know his views. It is not about color, black or white because the college kids con;t see color. My nephew was dating a black girl. It is all about the CHANGE and if you ask them, they can't even tell you what changes they want. He has convinced the college guys and girls with his written words that he is the God. And boy they do eat up his rhetoric. They are the inexperinced ones and they are the ones voting for him. Soon they will believe he can walk on water and that is God enough for them

Obama's Global Poverty Act of 2007, passed out of committee WASHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. Senators Barack Obama (D-IL), Chuck Hagel (R-NE), and Maria Cantwell (D-WA) and Congressman Adam Smith (D-WA) today hailed the Senate Foreign Relations Committee's passage of the Global Poverty Act (S.2433), which requires the President to develop and implement a comprehensive policy to cut extreme global poverty in half by 2015 through aid, trade, debt relief, and coordination with the international community, businesses and NGOs. This legislation was introduced in December. Keep trying to convince yourself that Senator Obama doesn't have the experience to be president. Your claims just don't hold up. PS: the man who you would jump at the chance of voting for, regardless of the fact that he is black, proving that you are not a bigot, his name is Colin Powell – NOT CLAYTON Powell. I will not bring up the fact that he helped Bush push his lie regarding the Iraq war. Powell's performance at the United Nations ended his political career. ...regarding young people supporting Senator Obama, didn't they say the same thing about Bobby Kennedy's young supporters?...Like the saying goes, you just can't teach an old dog new tricks...COUNTRY FIRST.
Fear is what keeps Senator Obama from choosing Hillary Clinton as his vice-president. In what most, in the Democratic Party, view as a "slam-dunk" selection, generally characterized as the "Dream Team," Senator Obama now appears intent on choosing anyone other than Hillary Clinton for his running mate. I question, "Why would he reject such an obvious choice?" Why does he reject the 18 million votes she garnered in the primary elections; or more accurately, the will of the people who cast those votes? Why does he discount the need for her experience and formidable political skills in the battle to come in the general election? Moreover, when comparing Senator Obama with Hillary Clinton, in terms of their value system, vision for the country, and dedication to the ideology of the Democratic Party, they are similar; if not identical. As vice-president, Hillary Clinton would be tireless worker in her efforts to make Senator Obama's vision for America's future become a reality. Why then does he dismiss her as his vice-president? As a psychologist, I now notice a "chink" in Senator Obama's otherwise gleaming armor of integrity and judgment; that "chink" is fear. I believe that Senator Obama fears that the Hillary Clinton, and her husband, with their "star power" and political clout will surreptitiously undermine his presidency. Obama fears that the Clintons will usurp his status, credibility and legitimacy and thus, he will be reduced to living in the political shadow of Hillary Clinton and her very popular husband; or worse yet, they will make him appear like George Bush, Jr.; a figure head who succumbs to the will of his vice-president. However, a great leader doesn't fear the talents of others; instead, he recognizes, embraces and uses them to accomplish his goals. Nor does a great leader seek to surround himself with "yes" people. Indeed, an effective leader, like I hope Senator Obama will show himself to be, seeks intelligent counselors from a variety of backgrounds, with different opinions from which he will glean insight into the myriad of problems that he will face in office. From such a rich input of information and experience, the president will be able to make an informed decision, consistent with his vision for the country, while aware of the future ramifications that a given decision may cause. Hillary Clinton, and her husband, would offer Senator Obama a wealth of "White House" and international political experience from which he would greatly benefit. The Clintons have shown themselves to be "team-players" who would readily accept their supporting roles in Senator Obama's administration and quest for America's homeland security, economic prosperity, social reform and world peace. Vice-president Hillary Clinton will not undermine Barack Obama's presidency; on the contrary, she will work to make it one of the greatest and most productive in history.
Barrack needs the Clinton votes, he needs her on the ticket. democrats need to wake up.he can't win without her... barrach i hope you are reading this...
Lida, I too can laundry list things , that Obama has said. Let's see Iran,is a small threat, no maybe it's a big one. I will not vote on FISA, oh my what did he do, he voted yes, just so the government can know more of everyones business. I will bring the troops, home in 16 months, Now what is it, oh! I know I have always said, that I will listen to the commanders, on the ground when they say it's safe, that's when we'll do it. And lets see what else I Do Not Want Drilling, up until last week when he learned that 70% of americans favor it now he wants it. Please give me a break, this man changes his B.S. like most people change their clothes, when people think their getting a little to nasty to handle. Obama, is not the man to bring this country, and Idon't care what color he is. He could be neon- green for all I care he has caused nothing but a world of trouble for The Democratic Party, so much so even if he would get in office, it would then take us another 8 years, before we get someone in their that would know what the hell their doing.McCain- Clinton, would be the ticket of unity.
I believe that if Senator Clinton really wanted this party united, she would do what is necessary and that is get behind the person that in now the nominee. Unless their division is stopped, we may not go into the White House. There should be no roll call voting nor anything else that is negative. I would have expected Senator Obama to have supported Senator Clinton if the places were reverse. Please stop the madness and do the right thing. I have always had much respect for the Clinton, but enough is enough. We MUST unite. Johnnie Florida
Its so dirty , Politics. I wished for the sake of the many That god Almighty will fix this,Because We really can't.
hey, your attitude contributes to the division. See you in Nov. McCain 08 PUMA roars .........slickster July 13, 2008 4:36 PM She and her hubby are so lame. Let her fans stay home. Obama doesn't need them and this country certainly doesn't want them.
Here's a failsafe & logical plan for the Clinton camp. Hillary's supporters (not Hillary herself, but her "people") need to publicly demand a ROLL CALL at the Convention & insist on Obama's plea of allowing 100% of Michigan & Florida delegates to be granted. One of two things will happen: 1) The roll call won't take place, thereby infuriating Clinton supporters so that they won't vote for Obama, which will clear the way for Clinton to win the Presidency 4 years from now. 2) The roll call will take place & one of two things will happen: 2a) With the Michigan & Florida seated fully, then Clinton will have won the majority of delegates, which may persuade the *super delegates* to switch their vote to Clinton -- she becomes the first female Prez of the U.S. !! 2b) Even if the super delegates aren't persuaded to switch their vote, it will further emphasize to the rest of the country just how close the race was, thereby helping Clinton get the nomination 4 years from now.
PLEASE Hillary. Put your name on the ballot. If you don't the Democrats cannot win this year. I think most of those who got Obama's nominated were trying to keep you out for fear you could have beaten McCain. Obama cannot and will not beat McCain and we will have 4 more years of the rich getting the tax breaks and more of George Bush rules. You can win Hillary, I know you can if it is handled in a fair way instead of cheating again. The super delagates should have changed their minds by now. OBAMA CANT WIN. We don't want him and won't vote for him. I will vote for McCain before I will vote for him. I have never voted republican before but may this year. MANy people feel the same way I do.
Lampe, you proved your true colors when you stated McCain/Hillary...you are nothing more than a REPUBLICAN. It is because of people like that this country is in such a state. YOU & your gal Hillary are TRAITORS to the Democratic Party...COUNTRY FIRST!
I cannot believe you people cannot see why Senator Obama will not pick Hillary, there is one big looming reason -- BILL CLINTON. I am sure that as a spouse of a VP, he DOES NOT WANT TO BE VETTED! Get it? Do you guys know what vetting means? It means, you know list of people that contributed to his library, where did all his money come from...lawsuit that he's involved in...etc...COUNTRY FIRST!
Christine, Keep dreaming, if Senator Obama doesn't win in November, it's a given that Hillary WILL NOT WIN in 2012. Who is going to vote for her? The Obama supporters will remember how you gals destroyed his chances at winning and THEY WILL NOT COME OUT AND VOTE FOR HER. She cannot win with just your votes ladies. I guess you gals haven't thought about that little fact. You are all helping to end her political career. Congratulations!...COUNTRY FIRST.
Inspite of all the boasting about Obama's accomplishments I still feel I cannot trust the man. If I have to I will be voting for McCain even though I am a Democrat. I have no choice. Many I know feel the same way and will vote the same way. I think a person's future performance has to be judged by his past performance. You may think he has answered all the questions we have about his past, but he has not. I stll believe there is a dark side and we won't see it until or maybe he becomes President. Hope that never happens. So for now, if Hillary cannot pull this off, we have become Republicans. A lot of us will.
Lida you sound like such an angry millitant on the Obama side. Are there more of you out there? If so is this what we can expect from the supporters of Obama. You certainly can give a great laundry list of dates, numbers etc. Are you part of the Obama campain in your State. You don't sound like the rest of us. You sound like somewhat of an insider working for the campaign. If he does not win the nomination are you going to go ballistic or become violent. You certainly give that impression. He just may lose. That could be a possibility you know. In this Country First thing, anything can happen.
I will not vote for Obama and Oprah. It' Hillary or no dem at all !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
157 delegates michigan - clinton 55% - Jan 17 - clinton 80, Obama 0 211 delegates Florida - clinton 50% - Jan 29 - Clinton 126, Obama 85 - Obama 33% - Edwards 14% May 13 - Clinton 1718, Obama 1884 1884 + 85 = 1969 1718 + 206 = 1924 +++++ Christine: You have failed to address some possibilities in your scenarios, and I believe that they should be included. (As an aside, this format does not seem to insert paragraph spaces, so I am placing a series of periods at the points where I wish my paragraphs to be seperated.).......... Regarding the roll call vote: It is my understanding that Hillary Clinton must sign off in order for this vote to take place. If she does not agree to the vote, it cannot take place. In my opinion, the first hurdle that the roll call vote must clear is obtaining the signature of the candidate. To the best of my knowledge, this has not happened........... For the sake of the argument, however, let us imagine that the roll call takes place. Let us also imagine that Michigan and Florida are given their full numbers of delegates. You have presented the possibilities that (a) Clinton would win the majority of delegates, thus persuading the super delegates to change their votes, or (b) the supers will not switch but the closeness of the race will be emphasized........... I believe that a third scenario should be presented: (c) Senator Obama would win the majority of delegates under this scenario, and that the win would not be based upon "back room deals" but rather mathematics. (I do agree that the closeness of the race would be emphasized.).......... My only previous post wasn't very clear, so in the interests of greater accuracy, here is my math. It is only meant to be an approximation. (It should be noted that neither candidate won enough pledged delegates to claim the nomination without the votes of the super delegates.)........... Michigan (whose election was held January 17) originally had 157 total delegates. Hillary Clinton won 55% of the vote in Michigan. Senator Obama's name was not on the ballot and thus he won 0%. ("Uncommitted" won 40%, but that is a different discussion.) Florida (whose election was held Jan 29) originally had 211 total delegates. Hillary Clinton won 50% of the vote in Florida, while Senator Obama won 33%. I have tried to take into account the approximate percentage of delegates that each candidate received in each of the two states. (Even if the specific numbers change, presumably the percentages, which were set by the results of the elections, should remain constant.) The Florida delegates were split approximately 60% to 40%, in favor of Senator Clinton. In Michigan, Senator Clinton got approximately 50% of the delegates awarded to the state........... Finally, I selected a date of May 13. (I wanted a date before the Michigan/Florida debate had been settled, but after most contests had played out.) On May 13, Senator Clinton had 1718 delegates. Senator Obama had 1884 delegates........... For my scenario, I used the original delegate totals for the two states (FL: 211, MI; 157) and awarded Senator Clinton 60% of total delegates in Florida (giving her 126 delegates) and 50% of the total delegates in Michigan (giving her 80 delegates.) I awarded Senator Obama 40% of the delegates in Florida (giving him 85 delegates) and no delegates in Michigan (giving him 0.).......... Senator Clinton (May 13) 1718 + 126 + 80 = 1924 delegates. Senator Obama (May 13) 1884 + 85 = 1969 delegates.......... In short, even if Michigan and Florida are fully counted with all delegates, and even if Senator Obama is awarded no delegates in the state of Michigan, he still comes out ahead in the pledged delegate count (and his lead is 40+ delegates, which means that even if I am off by a delegate or two, the basic mathematical premise should still be sound.).......... Scenario (c) above could also be put another way: The roll call vote is held, and Senator Clinton loses........... There hasn't been much discussion about this, but I think the potential political consequences of such a loss have been underestimated. However, it is a possibility, and should be considered when discussing the possible outcomes of a roll call vote, if one is indeed held.
Barbara, I am certainly no "Obama insider." I have waited FOUR years to vote a DEMOCRAT into office, and you gals are going to throw away this opportunity, because you are all mad...You don't even see how this Roll-Call stunt could hurt Hillary's political future. Funny you are referring to me as being militant, when it is you gals claiming that you are going to storm the convention if you don't get what you want. Sadly, I'm sure Senator Obama will not get elected, and it will be you "ladies" to blame. Will I become violent when this happens? No. I will become utterly depressed by the stupidity and vengefulness of women who are claiming to be feminists while they hand the White House to a Republican who will work fast and furiously to over-turn Rove v Wade. Ladies, you will be held accountable for this...COUNTRY FIRST.
Sharon, punish the whole nation with your narrow-minded thinking...COUNTRY FIRST!
Dear Jennifer in Texas, It is great to see a reality based post...The gals on this site aren't interested in the "reality of math," because I have been saying that for weeks...they want the fantasy of just handing Hillary something she DID NOT WIN...COUNTRY FIRST.
I am not waiting for a Democrat to be President. I would like to change Gongress first. I am not a Liberal nor am I a conservative. I am middle of the road. I don't like the views of the total Left. I do not believe in abortion. I would like to see a change in the Supreme Court. For me it is murder. Some women do not see it this way and use it as a birth control method. When a person gets into an accident and she is pregnant, they count the unborn child as a victim also. This happened to my sister. She was paid damages for the unborn child. Unborn child. They considered it to be a person. Why do women kill their babies. I would pray to God that they reverse Roe V Wade. Who speaks for the unborn. If McCain can help with any of this then good. I am tired of seeing women kill their unborn. What kind of person claims that they own their bodies and what is growing there is nothing and they can kill it at will. God save their souls.
Lida; as i've told you before, if you want to hear praise about Obama, this is not the blog for you. This is a site where Sen. Clintons supporters to say whats on their minds and in their hearts. And if you were a true Democrat, as you have claimed so many times, then you would be willing to let by-gones be by-gones and vote for her if he puts her on the ticket. Maybe you should take a good look in the mirror, before calling anyone else names.
Just want to say that inspite of Roe V Wade, I would be voting for Sen Clinton. I believe with all my heart that she would make a wonderful President. I think she is very intelligent and knows a lot more about running a country than Obama does. I want the vote to go to the floor. I want the people to be heard. I want to be heard. I know some of her views are not what I want but she is the best we can get. Better than the other two. If I cannot get her, I will be voting McCain. He is my second choice because I believe he is better than Obama. I just believe that if every vote was counted properly she would be in nomination. Do I believe some votes were stolen, Yes. Politics is dirty and I think the vote should be taken on the floor.
if hillary is on the ballot i'll vote for her.... otherwise....i won't vote. i'll take VP mccain has no .......life!!! all the jokes about him being old are so ... realistic... he acts like an ancient old man!!!
Barbara, You are a bit of a hypocrite. Hillary is pro-choice, but somehow you would lte her slide...Women will never have equality if they don't have control of their bodies. No one is pro-abortion. People are pro-choice...women should have the option...I am not talking about late term abortions...the number of abortions went down after it was legalized in this country...maybe you should go live in El Salvador where you can gleefully watch women get sent to jail for 30 years for having an abortion. That country seems more your style...COUNTRY FIRST.
Lampe, I don't need to be on a pro-obama site...I think this site needs a reality check other wise it's just Hilary fantasy land.
Ha, just listening to the news and McCain wants to know if Obama is American enough. Sen Clinton's campain wanted her to go there and explore just how American he is but she refused to go that low. Now it is being used by the Rep. Good, I hope all these Obama people begin to look and listen. McCain will find something and then it will be another Rep in the White House. Not what we want but we don't want Obama either.
Lida This is still America and I can say whatever I want and not be a hypocrite. Yes, she is pro choice but we know pro choice is also pro abortion.Otherwise it would be called pro life. I can live with that. Even though I don't believe in abortion be it late term, one month, three months or whatever month. Killing is killing. I can give her that because I believe there is more to running the country than abortion. That is where she and I differ. However I am not a hyprocrite because I believe in her platform for the country and the economy and our place in the world. I can accept her but I do not believe in abortion. I am allowed to disagree with the President of the US in anything. That does not mean I do not want that person in office. I still believe she is the best qualified.
Wasn't it your candidate's husband Bill that said Hillary and McCain are 2 great AMERICANS...I never saw so many people afraid of a brilliant black man, but this country will get what they deserve, and the electorate will be held accountable...keep voting in people that have have terrible middle east policies and see how many more attacks we suffer...COUNTRY FIRST.
Barrara, I'm glad to read that you are watching the news, but it sounds to me that you are tuned into FOXNews, I guess you chose to forget when your candidate's husband, that would be Bill, as in the former President of the United States, said that both Hillary and McCain were great Americans who loved their country -- implying 2 things, Senator Obama wasn't American nor was he a patriot. Barbara, I hate to inform you that Hillary did take the low road. I can't believe you are surprised that the republicans are using this against Senator Obama, when it was Hillary who first put it out there. Hillary ran like any other sleazy republican. I guess you don't remember her "kitchen sink" approach...Give me a break,,,,Yes, the Obama people looked and listened, and that is why we support Senator Obama...COUNTRY FIRST.
I totally agree that Hillary deserves votes, I also believe, the media swayed those votes, and still are trying. THIS COUNTRY WASN'T FOUND ON WHO THE MEDIA THINKS SHOULD BE PRESIDENT, BUT BY THE PEOPLE AND FOR THE PEOPLE" WHO SHOULD BE PRESIDENT. I CANNOT VOTE FOR OBAMA EVEN IF HILLARY IS VP, BECAUSE.... OF HIS BACKGROUND, HIS INFLUENCES, AND WE DON'T REALLY KNOW WHO HE IS, BACKGROUND IS A LITTLE QUESTIONABLE TO ME TO RUN FOR PRESIDENT, HE SHOULD RUN FOR GOV. FIRST AND THEN TRY FOR PRES. THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH HIS SKIN COLOR, BECAUSE I AM NOT A PREJUDICE PERSON. SO UNLESS HILLARY CAN RUN FOR PRESIDENT OF THE US, I AM CASTING MY VOTE FOR MCCAIN, IT'S TOO BAD THAT IT HAS COME TO THIS IN THIS GREAT NATION OF OURS.
NOTE TO OBAMANIACS -- You can jump off a cliff if you think that you're going to intimidate me into voting for a black man by calling me "racist" if I don't. That takes a lot of nerve to throw that label around when, in fact, blacks voted 90% against Hillary in the Primaries only because she wasn't the same color. The same can't be said about whites voting for Obama in the Primaries (because if they had voted 90% against Obama, then he wouldn't even be in the news today). And I would be really ticked off if I were from W.V. and were accused of being racist just because I voted for Hillary. In fact, that would be reason enough to *NOT* vote for Obama in November -- these Obama scare tactics have got to stop and I'll be damned if anyone is going to tell me for whom to vote. The reality is that Obama is an empty suit and I won't be pressured into voting for him. If I can't vote for Hillary in November, then I'll vote McCain !
Lida; I am really sick of hearing how bad you think Sen. Clinton talked about Obama. They were running against each other. I don't know, if you ever really paid much attention to politics before( I would not be surprised if this was your first time.) but that's how the game is played. They both said things that wasn't very nice, nut you don't hear Clinton supporters crying like you . Grow-up if Obama doesn't have a spine to go against someone in his own party, maybe his not man enought to run this country. I think he really needs to grow a pair of snickers.
Lampe, you are nothing more than a hypocrite. Every time I bring up a FACT about how Hillary ran a sleazy campaign, you run out to defend her down right offensive tactics, but you have a lot of venom directed at Obama and his supporters. You don't have an intellectually honest bone in your body...oh, yeah, your a FAUX FEMINIST, as well as, a FAUX DEMOCRAT. Get your heads out of HILLARYLAND LADIES. Your nation is suffering and you will be held accountable...mindless birds...COUNTRY FIRST.
Lida, I didnt' think I had to tell you that Sen Clinton is a great American, devoting 35 years of her life to the people of America in some way or another. And as for McCain, That man is certainly a Great American having served over 5 years as a prisoner of war and not leaving until all his men were gone first. Now that is an American. Having said that, I still believe with all my heart that She would be a better President. However that being a given, there is nothing in Obama's life to tell me that he is a Great American. You know he is well liked by the Mid East and that is because they know a Muslim when they see one. That is why they want to CHAT with him. That is his policy for foreign affairs. We should sit down and CHAT. Sorry, he is not a Great American. Maybe a Great Muslim. I will certainly give him that, inspite of his denials. What else can you expect from a man who won't explain his past.
Note to Sarah, black people have been voting for white people for decades, and they are the loyal base of the democratic party. So, I wouldn't exactly call them "racist" for not voting for Hillary, They just voted for the better candidate this time around, and I voted along with them. It is obvious, that Senator Obama is more qualified to be a 21st century president than Senator McCain. McCain graduated 5th from the bottom of a class of almost 900. Can someone out there tell me how a person graduates 5th from the bottom? Did he even go to class? Did he crack open a book? If it weren't for daddy and grandpa, he wouldn't have landed his plum naval pilot spot – where he processed to crash 5 planes. Senator Obama graduated from HARVARD in the top percentile of his class. I don't know what's the matter with you people, but the ability to inspire is a rare skill that all great leaders must possess. Have you been watching the news? McCain can't even pronounce the name of Georgia's President Saskashvili correctly. He mispronounced it THREE times at a press conference. Sarah, I can see you are welcoming the United States to 8 more years of a dimwitted embarrassing president. I guess, people vote for someone who is closer to his own IQ...It must be less intellectually threatening. People are more afraid of a brilliant black man then an old incompetent white man...Is that racist? You tell me...COUNTRY FIRST.
Hey, if anyone out there is looking for some intellectual honesty, here it is...Joshua Green writes, Hillary's "hesitancy and habit of avoiding hard choices exacted a price that eventually sank her chances at the presidency." It would have been better to put this language in the platform: "A woman who wildly mismanages and bankrupts a quarter-of-a-billion-dollar campaign operation, and then blames sexism in society, will dampen the dreams of our daughters." Really too hard for you gals to swallow. Why don't you bitter betties just burn the flag while your "enshrining the whine" at the Denver Convention?...COUNTRY FIRST.
Look, Hilary lost because of her inability to manage her campaign not because of sexism. Face it, she lost, get with the ticket. She turning the Obama victory into a Clinton parare. And for those who threaten to vote for McCain if she doesn't get all she wants well go ahead and vote for him. If you rather have 4 more years of Bush policy, the appointment of a Supreme Court justice who will help vote against free choice and who will continue an war we should have never started, well maybe you don't belong in the Democratic party.
Hello commenters, Today, we posted a new story and a video on this topic on our home page: www.cqpolitics.com. Here is the direct link to the story: http://www.cqpolitics.com/wmspage.cfm?docID=news-000002937428 Thanks much for your lively conversation!
You people are govern by hate.HIllary lost, but your hate can't see that. She will be running again and this hate wont be forgotten.McCain is going to hurt us all with Bush continued plan. please WAKE UP!!!!!!! Not voting for Obama is not going to make him and his family go hungry but it might make you. Hate will distroy you.
I haven't spent the time to read through all of the posts, but how much money does Hillary and her supporters expect to raise this late in the game? BO has proven to be, even during the primaries, a money raising machine. I would imagine he would not be too eager to shift his talents to helping the people who are trying to break up his party.
Finally, people with common sense are beginning to speak up, because they understand the importance of COUNTRY FIRST.
You people are amazing, you talk about the hate you say the Clinton Supporters have, yet Obama Supporters show just as much hate. How can you have that much hate in your hearts, when your candidate is the one that won? If Clinton, had won, I really wouldn't give a good crap about what Obama and his supporters had to say. I think you are the ones that really need to grow-up.
Lampe, We don't have hate in our hearts...it's call TRUTH. You call any fact that goes against Hillary hate...I take fact to fiction any day...COUNTRY FIRST.
Lida, I have read your comments for days now and I find you are a totally angry person. Can you just give it up. There are those of us who do not like Obama. I don't care what color he is. I don't like him. I am not into hate but I am into deeply dislike. So what if we want a Roll Call. So what if we want a vote to see if the people do want Hillary. Why should that make you so angry. What is this Country First Crap you are constantly writing. What is that supposed to mean. We do not care about our Country. You know so much about everyone here that you have to say Country First. Honestly, I am going to leave this place only because I cannot stand to read what y ou have to say. You are tiresome. You must be one hell of a person at home to listen to. Your mouth must be going all day. Give it a rest and let the rest of us want Clinton in the White House if that is to be. Isn't that Country First. Tell Obama to get his act togehter and act like he wants Country First, then maybe we may listen to him. Tell your candidate that he should have had Country first a long time ago when he was a Muslim. So until that time. Please shut up.
Lida; Your's have been some of the most hateful comments posted on this blog. It doesn't matter to you what anyone's feelings are towards Clinton or Obama. If they are not for Obama, you have called people racists, stupid, ignorant, and many other things. You are the one who has hatred in your heart. clinton supporter's are not as mad at Obama, as they are at The DNC. You say you read alot, well how about reading the by-laws, by which The DNC was founded. And who does Obama, really have supporting him? Kennedy, Edwards, Kerry, all men who could not get elected by themselves. So what do they do they pin their dreams on the coat tail of someone who has no experience anything. Well if, there is another war, I hope you still blog on a Clinton site, or Obama site, cause I will be blaming you and his supporter's for getting us into a war, that he has no idea, on how to win. Your son, might be better at running the country that you put first so much.
Note to LIDA -- Yes, blacks have been voting for whites and democrats for years -- but with regards to the top 2 candidates, it was unprecedented that they voted 90% against the white candidate (Hillary) and for the black candidate (Obama) in the Primaries. NO -- OBAMA DID *NOT* GRADUATE AT THE TOP OF HIS CLASS !! That's a fallacy that's getting spread around the internet. Yes, McCain didn't graduate at the top of his class either -- but neither did Obama. Yes, McCain probably got into school because of his dad. Obama and Michelle got into their Ivy League schools based on AFFIRMATIVE ACTION. Neither method is a good way to get into school, imho. Clinton, otoh, didn't use either of those methods to get into her university! If you're going to bring up mistakes about McCain, then here's a list that shows how SIMPLE MINDED Obama is. Sorry, but his mind is *not* as sharp as Hillary Clinton's !! I'm not going to be forced into voting for Obama over Clinton when Obama is someone who: Doesn't even know the # of U.S. states. Who said that FDR met with our enemies during WW2. Thinks that people from Afghanistan speak Arabic. Calls the Presidential position "Commander Of Chief". Talked about "The Bomb that fell on Pearl Harbor". Doesn't know the difference between Wesleyan U & Wellesley while he was speaking at Wesleyan. Stole his "Just Words" speech from Governor Patrick of Massachusetts. Said that he looks forward to dealing with heads of state over the next 10 years (Newsflash to Obama: the Presidential term is 4 years, *not* 5 you AFFIRMATIVE ACTION moron!!)). Spoke ghetto ebonics when he said "Alls we's can do". LIED and told an Israel audience that the Banking Committee was his committee when he is not (and never has been) a member of it. LIED that his Great Uncle liberated Auschwitz during WW2 when in fact it was the SOVIETS (not the Americans) who liberated that city. Obama is an imbicile and a liar and I won't be pressured into voting for him. BRING BACK HILLARY !!!
Barbara, I guess you confuse truth with anger...poor thing. It must be hard hearing the truth in response to your empty headed comments...I'm still waiting for one of you gals to tell me how Hillary is going to WIN the White House, if by some miracle, she gets the nomination...Your "18 million votes" aren't going to get her there, and I'm sure Senator Obama's "18 MILLION VOTES" aren't going to go her way. His supporters might not appreciate the old" bait and switch" at the convention. So, Barbara how is she going to get to the White House? I'm still waiting for an answer...if you decide to leave the site, because reality is too hard for you to handle, don't let the return key hit you on the way out...and I absolute believe you gals do not put COUNTRY FIRST.
Lampe, I think you should go re-read you posts...seems to me you just can't handle the truth especially when it's wrapped in snark. I can't believe you're going to tell me how great the Hillary supporters are, when they are planning to storm the convention and take the Democratic Party's moment and make it ALL ABOUT HILLARY. It is not a Hillary event. Oh, here's your silly logic, in order to get back at the DNC, we going to hand the election to McCain...never even thinking about the end RESULTS OF THAT BRAINSTORM. And from the news that I'm watching your man McCain is going to get us into a war with Russia...nothing like voting for another brainless warmonger...If you are referring to Senator Obama wanting to send more troops to Afghanistan, you do remember that is where the terrorists are located. That's the war the US was fighting until Bush did a bait & switch for Iraq, abandoning the Afghanistan people and allowing the terrorist to take hold of the country again...tell me, if you think Senator Obama is so inexperienced, what has Hillary achieved in her "35 years" of experience?...COUNTRY FIRST.
Remember Bill cheated on you, and as a standing president. Let' try not to be so hard on Barack. You lost, show some dignity about it.
Lida; I have a bit of information, that might interest you. The words that you end every blog with, are in fact a campaign slogan for Sen. McCain. I find it real funny that you a person, who claims tobe an Obama supporter, would actually use the same words of McCain. Maybe you are a under-cover Republican, just trying to cause problems, on this blog. I bet any money you will be changing your remarks now.
I WILL MOST DEFINITELY "NOT" VOTE FOR OBAMA UNLESS HILLARY IS ON THE TICKET AND HE WILL MOST DEFINITELY LOOOOOOOOSE. HE DOES NOT STAND A CHANCE WITHOUT HIL
helllooooo--to all of the republicans who voted for the dem mr. b.o. to get hillary out of the picture- looks like you suceeded. dems will not vote for mr.b.o. nor mccain....HHOOOORAHHHH----when you cry the next four years with inflation, foreclosures, gas prices, layoffs----a continuing same ole same ole we have experienced the past 8 years, look in the mirror and realiize how dumb the dems were, and how smart the reps were to play the ole egg game. as now my dear fellow americans---all the reps who voted B.O. --- will now switch back and slam mccain in. CONGRATS!
WE CAN ALL STILL WRITE HILLARYS NAME ON THE BALLOT SHE COULD STILL WIN!
Bravo. Good for Hillary. She should be nominated, she deserves it. I take offense that the act had to be approved by the Obama campaign. Hillary was out-politicked, amazingly, though she was the better candidate. Barack played the game better, and the universal support of blacks secured him the nomination. The other candidates - Hill, Edwards, Richardson etal, split the other constituencies. The unified black block pushed Obama to the nomination. I still prefer Hillary, especially as I learn more about Obama. (see http://www.honestjohnwade.com for info) Is thin on experience and knowledge of the issues, and he flip-flops too much. A lot for the Reps to attack this fall. Hillary has a better chance in the general election. Go Hillary. -- Linkster
The baby boomer generation has reached the age that we can lead the world toward a heaven on earth, not leave the job for another generation, or another... That does not mean electing Senator Obama. He is sorely lacking in so many ways. He's missing significant legislative achievement, particularly at the national level, little depth in foreign policy or military matters and has longstanding associations with persons unacceptable to mainstream Americans. On the other hand Senator McCain has a fine, extended record as a conservative/centrist, moderate and pragmatic, a gentleman who is outstanding in mind, body and spirit. I sincerely believe that he will make a great president. Are those of us in the baby boomer generation ready to seek peace, security, freedom, democracies, prosperity, spiritual harmony, racial harmony, ecological soundness, health as well as moral purpose and meaning for our own beloved nation, but also for the world as a whole, one world in peace and harmony? I think we are ready. I certainly am striving for these ultimate goals. I ask that you do the same. John E. Wade II
I just read an interesting article on the web. It seems that Bill Bower head of the Just Say No Coalition and his coalition, long time Democrats will not vote for BO. If it comes to this in November they will be voting for McCain. Like I said before there are a lot of us out there who will never vote BO. My State went two to one for Hillary and there is a movement here that will be Democrats for McCain. It is already beginning and this campaign is going to pick up and go strong. We don't want this but we want BO even less. We have no choice. If it is a choice between BO and McCain, I have to go with McCain. We will do this and he will win.
Lampe, don't give yourself too much credit. My tag pre-dates the McCain ad. I guess your fact finding didn't go that deep..maybe republican trolls liked the sound of it..Their stealing everything else from the democrats, including mindless voters like you...COUNTRY FIRST.
I'm still waiting for one of you gals to tell me how Hillary is going to WIN the White House, if by some miracle, she gets the nomination...Your "18 million votes" aren't going to get her there, and I'm sure Senator Obama's "18 MILLION VOTERS" aren't going to go her way. His supporters might not appreciate the old" bait and switch" at the convention. So, how is she going to get to the White House? I'm still waiting for an answer...oh, the sound of silence..and I absolute believe you gals do not put your COUNTRY FIRST.
EXACTLY. BUT KNOWING HOW TO PERFORM WELL IN CAUCUSES HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH BEING A GOOD PREZ. HAVING MINDLESS SUPPORT FROM SHEEPLE JUST BECAUSE YOU SHARE THE SAME SKIN COLOR HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH BEING A GOOD PREZ. OBAMA IS JUST AN EMPTY SUIT. IF HE'S PREZ, THEN CONGRESS WILL LEAD OUR COUNTRY & HE'LL JUST GO ALONG. BRING BACK HILLARY ! ""Barack played the game better, and the universal support of blacks secured him the nomination. "'
I'm going to cut to the chase. If Obama was a white man there would not be this much division among democrats. All this alleged unfair treatment, arrogance, talk of lack of experience are all excuses not to have an African-American in office. This country was born in racisim and will die in racism. Less than half a century ago, African-Americans were not even allowed to vote in some states and now some are bitter that in order to have a democrat in office they would have to vote for a black man. So please, to all of you trying to cover up your racist attitude, just say " I do not want to live in a country where the person with the highest position is an African American". Go ahead be honest with yourselves. This isn't about Hilary receiving unfair treatment it's about YOU not wanting to give a black man a fair chance.
please nominate Hillary,Iwill only vote for Hillary
Lida, why are you still here. Are you that stupid that you cannot see that this site is in support for Hillary and not OB. Why don't you go and find his site, or some place on the web that really want this man to be President and do your boasting there. You are really not wanted here. We don't have to explain anything to you. You are not representative of the American People. and the American People will decide who will be President. But I will tell you right now, it won't be Obama. Your words are falling on deaf ears and we do not intend to respond to any of your questions just to amuse you and keep you in the conversation. No one here is listening to you, so you can wait and wait, there will be no answering you anymore.
Regina -- you have nerve calling whites racist when it's the *black people* that voted 90% against Hillary in the Primaries. That kind of behavior was unprecedented & it was because of 1 reason -- because Hillary was white. On the other hand, if whites had voted 90% against Obama, he wouldn't even be where he is today. Instead, whites voted *for* Obama. The fact that the black community has repeatedly cried racism against whites during this election when it's the *black voters* that displayed the most racist behavior is pathetic. It's enough to turn off whites against Obama -- and I for one won't be intimidated into voted for such an empty suit just because someone calls me a name. BRING BACK HILLARY !!
tHE ONLY WAY THAT I WILL VOTE DEMOCRATIC IS IF HILLARY IS ON THE TICKET. IT IS SO SAD THAT THE MEDIA HAD TO GET INVOLVED AND TRY TO CONTROL THE PROCESS, AND FORCE SO MANY DEMOCRATS TO VOTE REPUBLICAN.
On the contrary 'slickster', Obama desperately needs Clinton supporters. Without them he can't win. Do a little math...over half of the voters in the primary voted for Clinton. Even if Obama was 10 points ahead of McCain in the polls (which by the way, he isn't) without Clinton's supporters he will be slaughtered by McCain. Is that what you want? You are eating right out of the hands of the GOP.
I have a question, for Obama supporters, mainly if you are AA. Why, is it okay, for you to vote for Obama, because he is black, and you say the main reason that you are voting for him is because you are proud, but it's not okay for a woman to want to vote for Sen. Clinton, because she is the first woman to run, and make it this far, don't we have as much right to be pround of her? Why, is it okay for you, but not for women?
Lida; How can a man that is supposed to bring peace and harmony to this country, and to all races of the world, instill in you and his supporters this much hate? You can say it's Clinton Supporters who are the haters, but before I even started blogging here, i read many of your nasty- hatefilled remarks to any who wanted to vote for Sen. Clinton.
I do not want to live in a country where the person with the highest position is an African American. There Regina, does that make you feel better? Divide and conquer...the GOP wins again.
I am a life long Democrat. I work for the Democrats in my City and State. However, If if comes down to Obama, I will not vote for him. I will, for the first time in my life, vote for a Republican, McCain. He is by far a true American which I cannot say for Obama. As I said before, there is a movement starting here that is Dem for McCain. That can tell you what my State thinks of Obama. We were 2 to 1 for Hillary in the Primary. We will not allow that man in the White House if we can help it. Not voting at all is giving your vote away and some said they would write in Hillary and that would be throwing your vote away. So Democrats, if you really do not want Obama in the White House, then vote McCain. That will at least keep him out and all his kind like him.
Come on Babas, you gotta do better then that...you're not going to answer any of my questions, because the reality is that you CAN'T! You can't tell me what Hillary has achieved in her 35 years of experience nor how is she supposed to get elected to the white house when "18 MILLION" people voted for Senator Obama...and he won the primary! You have no answers for me because you can't deal with reality, because if you cause you would be firing back fact not your fake indignation...mindless bird...give me a break...COUNTRY FIRST.
Barbara, One one thing, more democratic voted for Senator Obama then Hillary...You just can't do math passed your ten little finger...I AM REPRESENTATIVE OF THE AMERICAN PEOPLE, NOT YOU. You narrow minded ninny....take a breath Barbara, American may just have their first African American president....COUNTRY FIRST.
Lampe, You just don't get, people didn't vote for Senator Obama because he is black. They voted for him, because he is the only candidate with a BRAIN....21st century all the way...COUNTRY FIRST.
Lampe, I just can't believe you can mistake reality for hate...you just have a hard time facing fact...to you, anyone presenting fact has a heart filled with "hate"...give me a break...grow up...she lost, and I am sick of hearing about her...and it is obscene and egotistical the she is stealing the spotlight at the convention...you can have her name at the roll-call, but I NEVER want to hear it again. She is the most self-centered women ever...A real feminist would know that one would have to earn this much attention and she didn't, Hillary is nothing more that a spoiled child, and you mindless birds just give her everything she wants...I was all for her until she crossed the line...I WILL NEVER SUPPORT HILLARY CLINTON. SHE GIVES A BAD NAME TO FEMINISM. SHE HAS DONE MORE HARM TO THE WOMEN'S MOVEMENT THE YOU GALS CAN EVEN IMAGINE...COUNTRY FIRST.
Hey Arby, you're no Einstein. Hillary WILL NEED THE 18 MILLION OBAMA SUPPORTERS and she WILL NOT GET THEM. Not now. NOT EVER. Einstein, so, tell how she's going to win the white house if she got the nomination? you belong with the other birds..COUNTRY FIRST..
Clinton supporters; Did you hear the remark that Howard Dean made today? He said ; :That The Democratic party is the Black Party, and The other Party is The White Party.' I don't know about you but that is like a slap in the face to me. It's like he is telling us to go ahead and go to The Republican Party, because they really don't think they need White Folks no more. Words, like that are really starting to show the DNC's true colors, and they are not very pretty right know. So for me they just made my decision, a HELL OF A LOT EASIER.
Hey Lampe & all you other gals...this was Howard Dean's EXACT QUOTE. "IF YOU LOOK AT FOLKS OF COLOR, EVEN WOMEN, THEY'RE MORE SUCCESSFUL IN THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY THAN THEY ARE IN THE WHITE, UH, EXCUSE ME, IN THE [LAUGHS] REPUBLICAN PARTY." His quote is much more extensive and INCLUSIVE, but you won't get that from Lampe's lies...You can listen to the whole quote below if you want the truth...And the fact is that the Republican party is not brimming with minorities nor women. http://www.breitbart.tv/html/153493.html Lampe, how do you continue to lie like that...jeeze, where's your integrity...oh, hey your with the PUMAs. They don't have any...Isn't PUMA headed by a REPUBLICAN woman who supported McCain in 2000...so easy to trick you birds...COUNTRY FIRST.
PUMA has more than 2 million votes ready to change in November. That is more than enough to tip the election to McCain.
PUMA's Co-Founder is Will Bower, Democrat. He is the one who said we have 2 Million votes that tip the scale in November
Hey Babas, I was talking about Darragh Murphy, PUMApac Founder...She said she raised an earth shattering $50,000.00, that's thousand, not million, to help get Hillary nominated...I don't even think that will pay for Hilary's donut bill...oh, btw, she voted for McCain in 2000, and I sure along with all you other mindless birds, she will vote for McCain in 2008...and if your friend Will Bower has that many signature, why didn't he ask each person to donate a dollar to help kick in to erasing Hillary's debt...I guess, you people like her but not enough to invest your money in her...I kind of agree with you there..The woman just can't be trusted with money. I mean, just look at the way she ran her campaign...just think what she would do to the nation...COUNTRY FIRST.
I for one will not vote if Hillary is not chosen at least for vice president and I've been a democrat all my. I don't trust Obama, I will NOT vote for him. I say lets at least try and get Hillary back in the picture. If not McCain has my vote.
These women are mentally-challenged! There was a fair election and Hillary LOST! This NEVERENDING story needs to stop and stop now because it is total waste of everyone's time and money. You love Hillary so much, your dollars to pay down her debt, give it to the people who lost their homes in California, give it to the people who lost their homes due to flooding, give it to any number of charities!! Buying Hillary ads is a total WASTE of money. Get over it -- Hillary LOST FAIR AND SQUARE! And we don't care if you vote for McCain or not vote at all -- we are tired of hearing you WHINE!!
Barbara, here's a little update info for ya, just in case you're going to be referring to Will Bower..He's the founder of "Just Say No Deal," and just like you, he has no facts to back of his claims...COUNTRY FIRST.
Hill-raisers: Do the math (AGAIN)! Obama received OVER 18 million VOTES and WON the nomination! Hillary received a little over 17 million VOTES and LOST the nomination! 10% of you will NOT vote for Obama = 1,800,000 McCain won 12 million VOTES for Republicans + your 1,800,000 = 13,800,000 votes. Logical Conclusion: Obama = 18,000,000 McCain = 13,800,000 Hill-raisers LOSE AGAIN!! And in the process have completely ruined Hillary's chances of EVER becoming president!! We will remember your bad behavior for a very long time. So, "WHOSE YOUR DADDY NOW?"
Lida; you vote for Obama,in Nov. And I'll vote for anyone else, so that I cancel out your vote.
Lamp, there will be alot of us ourthere who will cancel out her vote in November. Just finished listening to the Obama and McCain discussion. Each had an hour. After two hours the moderators sat down and picked appart question by question. All agreed, this was McCain's to win and he did. The people loved him. No Hillary, then McCain. The Republican did say many times, American First. Didn't hear Obama say that. At one point they caugaht him in a lie. Too long for me to tell you but they did catch him lying. That's the Afro American for ya. Just lie your way into the White House.
I'm still waiting for one of you ladies to tell me how Hillary is going to win the White House, if by some hocus pocus, she grabs the nomination at the convention? She is not going to win without Senator Obama's 18 MILLION VOTERS, and believe me, after this, they are not going to vote for her - EVER, including if she runs for the senate again. So, how is she going to do it? Basically, you are setting-up McCain to be the next president of the United States, because even if Hillary is the nominee, she is not going to be president. You are either deceitful republicans or brainless turncoats who should be ashamed of your misdeeds...destructive ninnies...COUNTRY FIRST.
C'mon people! Be truthful! Stop talking out of both sides of your mouth! Nobody really cares about Mrs. Clinton; they're just afraid Mr. Obama just might beat Mr. McCain! That's the real bottom line. I have heard only positive messages in Mr. Obama's speeches and I, for one, believe that he is indeed working hard for a better America. In all the dirty little tricks Mrs. Clinton's campaign pulled to try to discredit Mr. Obama, he never tried to throw one back, he simply dismissed that foolishness. Mr. Obama is an awesome human being and we so desperately need someone who is not interested in lining his own pockets. Bring our beautiful soldiers home Mr. Obama, they've suffered long enough. Certainly Mr. Bush has made enough money now. But I digress! Back to Mr. Obama, OBAMA FOR PRESIDENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Allseeing...where have you been? don't leave this site...it needs all reality speaking people...COUNTRY FIRST.
Barbara, that quote of yours..."That's the Afro American for ya. Just lie your way into the White House." Your racism is showing and it's not a pretty look on you...I don't know what you're listening to, but from what I heard BOTH candidates did very well, McCain was just in his element of CONSERVATIVES...I'm not sure how you made race an issue, but THAT IS THE WHOLE PROBLEM FOR YOU...old, ignorant and anger...you must be a blast at parties...COUNTRY FIRST.
Obama for President, Higher TAXES, TAXES, TAXES. That is what he said last night. THE PEOPLE HAVE TO MAKE SACRIFICES WITH HAVING TO PAY MORE TAXES if we expect to make changes. Like we are not making sacrifices with the Home heating oil problem, the Gas Problem with the Electric Problem with the home Gas Problem. And he thinks we need another problem. HIM.We are in a Recession idiot. We here in the North are paying dearly right now for home heating oil. I don't know about the rest of you but the poor people in my state are going to have a tough time heatibg their homes this year with 4.10 a gallon. And he thinks we need to pay more taxes. There are people here who will freeze this winter. We already have had many who have had their electricity turned off. We have a lot of elderly here who have no idea what is going to happen to them or how they are going to make the winter. Yes, give us more taxes. Don't find a way to conquer this problem, just give us one more.
Lida; Just because I won't vote for Obama, does not make me a brain-less turncoat. You are the one voting for someone that has 3 years experience as a Senator, of which 2 of those years he has been campaigning. And oh by the wat how can you trust a man who doesn't keep his word. He told the people of Chicago, when he was running for Senator, that he would not run for POTUS, what happened? A man of his word my butt.
If you think for one minute, that Obama, is going to be POTUS, without Sen. Clinton's supporters then you are all in for a rude awakening. So please keep talking trash about The Clintons. Obama supporter's talk about change, well what kind of change is he bringing about? He has his supporter's blogging remarks, like people who don't support him are racist, or if you don't vote for him, we will never ever vote for her. If that's the change he is talking about, you can keep it. Where exactly is Obama's plan to make this about people of all races, coming together, I have yet to see it. It's people that are in his campaign, or his friends, that have played the race-card. They played it against The Clinton's and got away with it. They tried against McCain, but it didn't work why, because they don't really care, if they step on anyone one toes, they are not beholding to anybody in The DNC. So if you want to put your lives, in the hands of a man, who can't keep his word, then by all means go for it. but, please don't tell me who I should or shouldn't vote for. If I want to be told how to vote, I'll go to some country, where my rights, are not my own, but someone elses.
Barbara, your rant is baseless. Senator Obama is talking about "rolling back" the Bush tax cuts on the top 3% of Americans. It is a KNOWN FACT THAT MORE PEOPLE WILL RECEIVE TAX CUTS UNDER SENATOR OBAMA then your man McCain...get your FACTS STRAIGHT! You are just a brainless parrot REPEATING REPUBLICAN LIES...one more thing, only a dimwitted fiscally suicidal Republican president would cuts taxes and declare a war and the same time!...COUNTRY FIRST.
Lida; Is it necessary, for you to call everybody that doesn't agree with you names? Is this what you are teaching your child? I am sorry that I don't believe in Obama. But that doesn't make me ignorant, racist , or a brain-less parrot. That is what this country, that you say you put first was founded on. That is why there is more than one party, because people have the right to believe in what, or whoever the want. I don't know what gives you the right to say if somewhat doesn't believe in your views they are wrong. I would not take away your right to have your voice heard, anymore than you should take away ours. And please for the love of god, stop calling me a republican. you may think you know alt about me, but believe me you haven't a clue on who I am.
Obama is a lying cheat. He will just keep lying trying to get inot the White House. LIES, LIES LIES. Not for me. NO OBAMA, NO OBAMA, NO OBAMA Now that is a Montra
Lampe, any democrat that will vote for the incompetent warmongering McCain is NO DEMOCRAT. You cannot grasp the FACT that Senator Obama won the primary, and you are willing to sacrifice this nation, because of your blind empty-headed vengeance. You may not be a republican but you sure are acting like one. Another thing, beliefs that are not based in FACT OR WRONG! That is what I teach my son. What did you teach you children, -- to change the rules in the middle of the game, blame everyone else, and throw tantrums until they get what they want? I think you better go talk to your gal pal Barbara, because she "name calling" Senator Obama in practically every post, and I know how you don't like "name-calling."...COUNTRY FIRST.
Lampe, You're so busy talking about Senator Obama's inexperience, you have yet to tell me what Hillary has achieved in her "35" years...Where is your list of Hillary accomplishments?..Oh, I guess, I'm just supposed to take you word for it...I've already posted SOME of Senator Obama's twice...funny you are willing to vote for McCain, a man who graduated 5TH from the BOTTOM of a class of 899, I still can't figure out how a person achieve that ranking, opposed to Senator Obama, who graduated in the top percentile of his class at HARVARD, and you question why I choose such words as brainless and ignorant...COUNTRY FIRST.
Barbara, Come on now, it is you and your PUMA pals that are the liars and cheats...Just like a Republicans to do the dirty deeds, and then blame the other guy...by the way before you can have a "Montra" you have to know how to spell it...it is MANTRA...COUNTRY FIRST.
Barbara; did you know, that the best people to take advice from, on running The White House,is your Wife and your Grandmother, WOW! sounds to me like Obama, is already starting to make stupid mistakes, on who will be able to best help him IF and I do mean IF he becomes, POTUS. Maybe he'll seek their advice about if Irans a big threat or just a little one. HA! HA! HA! WE might as well elect his grandmother, because she probably has more experience than him.
I think hillary should run to win in denver. after over 49 years in the deocratic party, we should insist on a fair vote in denver. Obama is a smart person but he is losing among my family and friends, most of whom are democratics. and it is time to allow a woman a fair chance to win. womwn'e issues are even more impotant than redressing racial inwequalities. let the delegates vote after a silent prayer. and then let's support the final democrat.
Leonel, Hillary had a fair chance to win and she LOST, and if women's issues are SO IMPORTANT TO YOU, YOU WOULD VOTE FOR OBAMA, BECAUSE UNDER MCCAIN WOMEN WILL KISS THEIR EQUAL RIGHTS, ALONG WITH, RIGHT CHOOSE, GOOD BYE...COUNTRY FIRST
Lampe, I'm with you. Women are just too STUPID to take advice from. I mean, they have such low IQs, I certainly wouldn't want one of them anywhere near the White House...COUNTRY FIRST.
Lida; My reply was that there will be three people running the White House, with no-experience. Obama, Michelle and Grandmother. And of course these women are not experienced, what office or position have they ever held?
I am 73 years old, but this is the first presidential election that I may refuse to cast my ballot. Both candidates for both parties suck. If Hillary were still in the race I would have no problem making a decision. My husband is of the same opinion. Thank You, Lucille
Well Lida; as you so nicely stated, it is our right to vote away our rights. Thank you for finally understanding that it's or vote to do with it as we see fit.
Lampe, I really don't thing you have the "RIGHT" to throw away the future of women who will come after you just, because your life is basically over, and the only happiness you now get is from spiteful revenge...this act is extremely selfish and SHORTSIGHTED...COUNTRY FIRST.
Lida; are just as selfish, as you say I am. You want us to vote for a man that we have no faith in. that in my book is what is going to ruin this Country, letting a man , who, if he wins ,will only win because he is a man, ruin our lifes and the lives, of our children and grangchildren. You young women, take for granted, things that women, had to fight long and hard for. Maybe, it's time to get off your asses, and do something about it, not just sit and blog nasty remarks.
Lida & Lampe---please forward to a different site for your personal CONTINUOUS opinions and attacks on each other. Third grade comments OVER and OVER andOVER----children, apologize to each other and go home.
I am a Republican reading all of this and I can happily say Senator McCain will be the next President of the United States. The Democratic Party is so split and shattered that it can only help us get McCain in. You have the Hillary people who are angry and they will switch their vote to us. I think with all the arguing going on with the Democrats and all the threats they are making amonst each other there is no other way to see it but Sen McCain winning in November. This pleases me tremendously. He is Pro Life and that is very important to me. I like his position on the war and I really believe we need this man in the White House. I do not believe he is a Bush Republican but I believe he is a Reagan Republican. We thrived under Reagan and the world respected us under his Presidency. McCain for me and a lot more people like me. So Stop the nonsense and get on the band wagon.
Lampe, I have been "off my ass" for women's right...now I standby helplessly while you birds throw it all away...COUNTRY FIRST.
speaking of "bored of it," I've been bored of this "enshrine the whine" movement since FEBRUARY...COUNTRY FIRST.
I am a very calm person and I am watching the Democrats tear themselves apart. The Party is so divided and all the nasty words going on in this room can only help my cause. So you see, you people do not disturb me at all. I am a Conservative Republicam, way over to the right.I believe life begins at conception. I believe in the 2nd amendment, I believe marrige is between a man and a woman. I believe the schools should be teaching abstinence and teachers should not be giving out condoms. I no not believe in abortion for any reason. When someone asks you if you are having a baby, and you are pregnant. Do you answer yes, or do you say no I just have a thing growing inside of me so I can kill it. I believe we all should pay our dues so I believe in a Max 10 % consumption tax. I believe if I have worked and earned my money, then I should keep it and be able to spend it. I love this Country and I also believe in God. I like me that way. Please don't answer me by yelling, I do not respond to such gross words that I have read here. I am a calm person, so I will just shut you out.
HURRAY for JEFRANN,MICHELLE & TLINX'S comments! I totally agree & it depends on what happens at the convention.I have always voted democrat but will not vote for OB! i, my family members & friends will all vote republican.
Am I the only one that realizes that this "pro-Hillary" site is teeming with REPUBLICANS? They are the Pied Pipers of politics that are luring you Hillary birds into dragging this nation into the river...foolish folly that will take us generations to repair... nothing to be proud of ladies...COUNTRY FIRST.
Lida, I am a conservative Republican and I am not trying in any way to lure anyone into the Republican Party. We can do well on our own. I am not a Hillary turncoat. I was always a Republican. Although I believe Obama really wants the best for America, I don't think he is the man who can do this. I know that in the past McCain has been a rebel but I believe his strong character will not allow him to be pushed around and cause him to flip flop. C hanging his mind on things he believed in 10 years ago is not flip flopping. Most of us have changed our minds about something we did in the past that we would not do now. I don't think Obama has this strong character in him. I think he would make a weak President, and also I could not vote for him because I am a strict conservative and he is a liberal. Sometimes he tries to come to the middle of the road but that is only because he would like those of us who want the best for this Country to vote for him. He is not my candidate nor was Hillary. I did listen to both of them and give them a fair shot but when it comes to the things I wrote before, they don't come close. McCain is not a Bush Republican as I said before. There are a lot of differences between the two. I still believe he is more of a Reagan Republican who was Conservative. I want this Country respected around the world and we can only do that with having a strong leader and a strong voice in the White House. I want people to believe iin God or some form of Higher Being and I want people to believe that pregnancy means carrying a baby who is not to be killed at will. I do not want abortion to be used as birth control and I want marriage to be between a man and a woman. I protect your right to disagree with me as my right to disagree with you. Politics is a difficult issue to discuss because people have core beliefs and feel very strongly about them. Some may want to fight over them, but that is not the way to get your point over. All we can do is accept a person for their points of view and fight to protect that person's right.
My last comment wasn't posted, but I am a firm believer if "it isn't done right it won't work. THink about all the controversy and lies that have taken place in the great USA. people fail to realize that it's time for a change all the other presidents haven't done any thing for the less fortunant except continue to kick them when they are down to raise them selves up higher. NO HIllary won't win and the good Lord already knows the out come. I don't think he would have led him this far to leave him, knowing the situation the USA is in.... Think about it
The good lord, does give you things, and then takes them away from you to make you stronger. I do not believe that GOD, sent Obama, or anyone else here, now at this time, to work any miracles. If you think for one minute that this man is going to come in here and change things over night you are in for a rude awakening.
My views will never change for Obama. I am & will always stand behind & with Hillary! Funny how the popular vote never counts only the stupid super delegates. It was that way with Gore, now Hillary. I have been a left winger for as long as I have been allowed to vote. This will be the 1st time I will not vote. Hillary knows the ins & out of Washington better then most everyone. Obama is only a smooth talker who knows nothingabout what he is allowed to do... Its hillary all the way! If not now then I'm looking forward to 2012!
Dianne Zanolli, Hillary will not win in 2012 because Senator Obama's 18 MILLION VOTERS will remember the destructiveness of Hillary supporters, and THEY WILL NEVER VOTE FOR HER...GET USE TO PRESIDENT MCCAIN FOR ANOTHER MISERABLE 8 YEARS....TURNCOATS...YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED!
I understand people are hurt and angry and Hillary supporters (of which I am one) would like some satisfaction. BUT, we cannot take another Republican administration - so support Obama. Think of the long term damage the Republicans can do, specifically on the Supreme Court. Better to help Obama win the White House and protect our nation than to hand it over to the Republicans. My stomach turns in knots at the thought. Look at the war, look at the economy, look at our civil rights and ask yourself if we can afford the emotional satisfaction of withholding our support - or worse yet, voting for McCain. Vote for Obama. Our future literally depends on it.
August 22, 2008 Re: Senator Clinton backing Senator Obama Senator Hillary Clinton and her 18 millions voters need to think postive about supporting and voting for Senator Barack Obama to become the next President of the USA If Clinton and her support don't vote for Senator Obama, Senator Clinton future as ever becoming President is over, because she cannot win without the African American votes and that is a fact. Her career as President or Governor of New York State is dead without the African American voters, therefore Clinton and her 18 millions supporter has a choice to make. God Bless All Of You...
Lida: Well I guess, we will just have to dea, with Republican Presidents, for the next 4,8,12, or 16 years. Because I guess your not a real Democrat either, I've had a feeling you are aRepublican, just trying to keep the hatred flowing on this blog. And if Obama supporters want to blame HRC and her supporters, because he is starting to fall behind in the polls, then go right ahead. It will be his lack of experience that will sink that ship not Clinton Supporters. So go ahead and be mad and bitter, along with the rest of us, after all that's what Obama, said we are anyway, and according to you he's never wrong so go ahead and become one of us.
Obama ain't gonna win without Clinton cause we Clinton supporters don't like him. I already have my McCain bumper sticker next to Hillary's on my car and my hispanic family is doing the same in Ohio, Texas and Tennesse and in Indiana we hispanics have large families. we think Obama is a liar and out for worship. we also respect the time and effort put into to learning one's field to gain experience something Obama knows nothing of thats why he is arrogant. HRC supporter for McCain 2008
All you Democrats fighting with each other over Hlllary. If you were true Democrats then you would vote for Obama. Some of you will not vote at all. Well that is all good for us Republicans. As for me what you do is immaterial to me. I am a Conservative Republican. My only remark to you is it should not matter if Hillary is the Candidate or not if you are a true Democrat. She is supporting Obama so why should't you. Your split will be the runation of the party. So be it. We are United Republicans and we can defeat a split party.
Lampe, I really don't know what gives you the idea that I am a republican. If it were legal, I would tell you where to meet me, so that you could watch me PULL THE LEVER FOR SENATOR OBAMA in November. I have absolutely no respect for this republican administration and what they have done to this country....you can try to twist this all you want, but you hillary gals are helping to destroy this nation...I'm tired of talking to empty headed-birds who are not looking to PROTECT THEIR COUNTRY from another republican president...
This site is all but Dead now and shold be closed. This is my last comment. If all you Democrats were true Democrats then you would get behind Obama and Biden. You got lucky. Biden is a great guy and a great Senator. I only wish he were a Republican. The race may be tighter now because of him but I still have to wait and see who McCain picks. But it won't matter to me because I am a McCain person and it is the President who makes the final decisions. But some people will stil vote the ticket and others will still hold the anger because of Hillary and they will not vote or switch to the Republicans. All the better. But this site is over for me since Hillary is nowhere in the picture. This site should now be closed and all you Democrats should take a lesson from her and do what she is doing and that is getting behind the party. But as Democrats, you won't because you won't vote for Obama. That is great news for us. I still believe we will have McCain in the White House comes November. Bye
Obama\Biden, two-liars = McCain, and WHOEVER in THE WHITE HOUSE
Lampe, go back to the old where you came from and STAY THERE....republican lemming...
Lida; Your not even worth my time anymore. Don't you get it you and Obama DON'T MATTER
As a long time Democrat I will be dammed if her supporters throw a fit and put McCain in the White House. To you women, I wish an unplanned unwanted pregnancy and then see where you are when he revokes R vs Wade. A baby at 52, a post menopausal blessing, I don;t think so. Get obver it and fight like hell to get the GOP out. If you F---- this up no way in hell will I work to get Hillary elected in 2012. We will not survive four more years.....selfishness.
If Obama was that smart he should have chosen Hillary for a Slam-dunk win! We want the dream team, she's got the experience and worldwide notiary and he's got the smooth voice and charm! GET HILLARY BACK ON TICKET!!! OBAMA WAKE UP!!!
Margaret: Well maybe if you knew how to protect yourself, you wouldn't have to worry about accidents. And you as an older woman, should know that women, are about so much more than their reproductive systems. Shame on you!!!!!! And you can keep making your bone-head threats, about HRC, never getting elected in 2012, or any year for that matter, because as far as that goes, I willl also never vote another Democrat in office again. So looks like you stubbornness, and mine will only allow a Republicn POTUS,from now on!!!!!!!
Lampe, You can't separate "bone-headed" threats from reality! So much for ending the angry, vengeful, bitter man-hating feminist stereotype! You are helping to set women back DECADES! Just like a republican...
I happened to fall on this site by accident and started reading. There is a lot of hate going on in here. I am a life long Democrat. So I will make this very simple. I don't know how Obama happened to steal the votes but I believe he did. I do not forgive the Kennedy's for coming out and endorsing Obama when they were such great friends of the Clintons. They stayed at each other's homes and were genuenly close. I do not understand Caroline Kennedy either. Why Obama. Hillary had most of the same dreams as he did. I just don understand the turn of events when she was so far ahead. I blinked and it was over. I as a Democrat will be voting for McCain because I do not believe Obama is ready for the White House. Hell, his VP also said he was not ready on day one and the Presidency was not on the job training. So now he is great and Biden once again put his foot in his mouth. If nothing else, she should have been VP. Then perhaps I could have given him my vote. But since that did not happen I believe those of us who do not agree with the choice the Democrats made should be given a lesson. You do not give us someone we did not vote for. I believe the votes were stollen at the caucuses. That would be the only place she could have lost. Caucus votes are very different from the primary. Anyone who has voted in a Caucus knows what I mean. So the Democrats have to be taught a lesson and that is we get who we voted for and you do not dictate our vote. Hope all you Democrats feel as I do.
Lida; I've decided that your are no longer relavent, and not worth the time it takes to blog you. So good luck to you in Nov.
Lampe, give it a rest...your cause is "no longer relevant" - R - E - L- E- V- A-N-T. I'm not sure what "relavent" means.
Lida: god knows you are Miss perfect. It's called a slip of the fingers, of I have one finger that I'd love to slip you way.
Lampe, I guess that safer for you, because there is no spelling involved.
McCain, has picked a woman. Hopefully they will show The DNC, what it's like to treat a woman with respect.
Lampe, nothing like respecting a man that uses a woman as a political gimmick. I'm sure that McCain can count on your vote, but there are millions of Hillary supporters too smart to fall for this stunt. I'm sorry to say you are not among them. Palin is not a true feminist. She will stand along side McCain and help him destroy the rights that women have fought the last 40 years to gain...To McCain, Palin is just another "skirt" to use for his benefit...Lampe, I guess it's hard for you to see the obvious when your mind and heart are so clouded by revenge.
Lida; If your vote, and your voice doesn't matter in the Democratic Party, do actually think they give a crap about you at all? I will vote, for any party, that is willing to give a woman a shot, at anything. The DNC, didn't think Sen. Clinton, or her Supporters mattered, well I'm telling you we do. I will suppoter McCain\Palin, because they are the only ones, that are treating us as an equal. If any woman, who voted, for HRc,does not vote for Palin, they are no better, than you or The DNC. The Party of Unity, is The Republican Party. Obama, got himself into a Pickle, now let's see how he gets out of it. I bet The Republican's won't put up with the sexist remarks, from CNN and MSNBC,like HRC, and her supporters dealt with.
Lampe, you are an easy mark for the republican party. McCain doesn't give a crap about Gov. Palin. He is just using her to get the votes of the uninformed angry women. If he wins the election, Palin will be discarded, and ALL WOMEN WILL LOSE THE RIGHTS THAT TOOK THEM FORTY YEARS TO GAIN. I really can't believe that you think McCain cares one ounce about you. It's you vote that he's after. Give it to him Lampe, but don't think you are doing women any favors! From what I have been reading so far, true Hillary supporters are not that easily fooled...Lampe, you could learn something from them!
WOW! Gov. Palin's speech was amazing. Looks like she has just what it takes to play hard-ball, with the big boys. Women, unite behind one powerful woman!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey Lampe, looks like we made history without you. Life is good. Lida
