Senator Delays Fight Over Net Neutrality Rule
Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison , R-Texas, has agreed to hold off for now on an effort to block new federal rules aimed at ensuring unfettered broadband use for all, according to a GOP aide.
Hutchison earlier said she would use the fiscal 2010 Interior-Environment spending bill, which the Senate is debating this week, as a vehicle for an amendment to prevent the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) from implementing its new net neutrality mandates.
The mandates, which would prohibit Internet service providers from selectively blocking or slowing content and applications, were announced Monday.
Aides to FCC Chairman Julius Genachowski asked Hutchison to withdraw her amendment while they work to address her concerns, according to a senior Republican aide on the Commerce, Science and Transportation Committee. Hutchison is the ranking Republican on that panel.
The aide said Hutchison agreed to back off for now, but that she will press forward with the amendment if she is not satisfied with whatever solution the FCC puts forward.

What exactly ARE her concerns? That everyone can have access even without the biggest campaign donations?
