Sen. Byrd Released From Hospital
Sen. Robert C. Byrd , D-W.Va., the longest-serving senator in history, was released from the hospital early Thursday afternoon, two days after he was admitted following a fall at his northern Virginia home.
Byrd, 91, was treated with antibiotics for early signs of an infection, his office reported. He will remain at home convalescing for now.
Byrd indicated that he “is looking forward to engaging in the upcoming debate and votes on health care reform – one of the most critical issues facing this Congress,” his office said.
Democrats are counting on his vote to help them reach and maintain the 60 votes needed to overcome a filibuster on health care and other legislation.

Wall Street and all institutions that lend money need to be regulated by the Federal Government, they will not do it without laws and enforcement.Ronald Reagan de-regulated the lending institutions while in office...they need to be put back in a stronger form...The regulations FDR put in place served us well until the Republicians with Reagan weakened them . Now, we are in an economic crisis because of the greed of Wall Street and the recklessness of banks and lending institutes that handed out money to unqualified people and businesses.
