Kucinich to Present Impeachment Case to Panel

Democratic leaders have agreed to give Rep. Dennis J. Kucinich a day before the House Judiciary Committee to make his case that President Bush ought to be impeached for allegedly lying to Congress in order to get approval to invade Iraq.

On Thursday, Kucinich complied with a rule requiring him to give notice before filing another article of impeachment, which he intends to do on July 14. Earlier Thursday, Speaker Nancy Pelosi , D-Calif., said Judiciary Chairman John Conyers Jr. , D-Mich., likely would review the matter before his committee.
Kucinich contends that Pelosi’s blessing demonstrates the desire on Capitol Hill to hold the administration accountable for allegedly lying to Congress.
“When Congress is reminded that a case for war was made based on information that has been categorically proven to be untrue, Congress will then want to reflect on its power and responsibility,” Kucinich said.
But Democratic House leaders downplayed the possibility of actual impeachment proceedings. “It is my expectation that there will be some review of it in the committee,” Pelosi said. “Not necessarily taking up the articles of impeachment, because that would have to be voted on the floor, but to have some hearings on the subject.”
“The chairman may be holding hearings. Whether he holds impeachment hearings would be another question,” Majority Leader Steny H. Hoyer , D-Md., said Thursday.

Pelosi and Hoyer will not allow Bush to be impeached as Pelosi and Hoyer have sold their souls to the Bush Administration and lobbyists as noted by their efforts of destroying the US Constitution-4th amendment and FISA. There was no reason to bring it up yet again for another vote, unless their was a deal with the Bush Administration /the devil. Pelosi and Hoyer are unprinciipled politicians, who do not care about America or Americans, only the lining of their pockets with oil and gold.

Pelosi finally makes a step forward! OK, we "caught" her doing something right, this is the moment to impress upon her that this is the direction in which we want to go. I am very grateful for this turn in the tide, slight as it may appear, so I emailed her to thank her. I just thanked her, I didn't complain. Just positive reinforcement. Lied to Congress, hell he lied to the American people and more then once. If Congress had any cajones at all they would have told him to go to hell. Wake up Congress, all your jobs are in jeopardy if you do not stand up to him this time. We will make sure it does not happen again, one way or the other.
If ever a sitting president deserved impeachment, GWB is him. Countless lives have been lost to achieve the goals of the oil interests and those of the investor class. How much more do we have to put up with before the congress finally does it's duty and impeach this president. The American people do not deserve to be drug down itno the morass of fascism.

They won't impeach because they are guilty, too...Both party's are incapable of carrying out the lw and the Constitution....They are tainted...Thier first reaction is to grab, choke, and strangle the Constitution as they plan thier political moves.....DISGUSTING!!!!!!!!!

The Judiciary Committee has not scheduled any hearings this week, on Kucinich's new Article of Impeachment or anything else. I haven't seen any confirmation of this story about the House leadership, presumably meaning Speaker Nancy Pelosi. The question now is whether House Judiciary Committee Chairman John Conyers (D-MI) is going to do anything at all with his new permission to hold hearings on Kucinich's latest Article of Impeachment.
