Kucinich Seeks to Punctuate His Efforts to Abbreviate Bush’s Term
By Molly K. Hooper, CQ Staff
Anyone who thought Dennis J. Kucinich would quiet down after Democratic leaders gave him a public forum to talk about impeaching the president hasn’t met Dennis J. Kucinich .
The Ohio Democrat was allowed to make his case for impeachment at a House Judiciary Committee hearing July 25. But he’s back already with what he calls a “citizen’s petition” intended to demonstrate support for throwing President Bush out of the White House before his term ends in January.
In an online appeal to the names on his campaign e-mail list, Kucinich calls the Judiciary discussion “a day of singular importance.”
“For the first time the case for impeachment was discussed in front of a congressional committee, in depth, at length and with authority,” he wrote before going on to explain that it wasn’t enough. He wants to do more to highlight grievances against the president and Vice President Dick Cheney .
And no, the effort’s not just sailing through the world of the Web.
Kucinich intends to submit nearly 100,000 signatures — some mailed to his congressional office — in support of impeachment so that the “people will know that their message” will be delivered to the Judiciary committee, he said Wednesday.

Yes, and anyone that knows Nancy Pilosi, and most of congress knows that they slop at the same trough as Bush (and you from the tone of this article) and have no intention of threatening their slops by protecting Democracy through Impeachment.
Dennis Kucinich continues his quest to impeach President Bush for crimes that were never committed. The real crime here is that we American taxpayers continue to pay the salary of the true leader of Democratic Delusionists in Washington. Next thing you know, Kucinich will be offering free tin foil hats to his fellow delusionists. The people who keep reelecting Kucinich every two years must be proud of their guy. He is a real credit to the promotion of common sense and rational thought!
MR MCQUIRE, YOU ARE NAIVE, CRIMES WERE COMMITTED!!
let's have the Impeachment hearing, call witnesses, gain a bit of transparency and get the answers. There is clearly enough evidence to have a hearing. Those who are not in favor of Congress upholding their sworn duty are either Bushies, or have something to hide themselves (like Pelosi - who is no reeking of corruption).
The only delusional people in this country are the 30% who think Bush is actually doing a good job. Kuninich gets my write-in vote for president this November.
Ask representatives and senators: 1. Do you consider yourself "tough on crime"? 2. If a crime may have been committed in your neighborhood, would you favor an investigation to find out? 3. If a crime may have been committed by an elected official, would you favor an investigation to find out? Note that Nancy Pelosi would favor an impeachment investigation but only if crimes were proved to have happened without an investigation. She and others are vulnerable on that point.
Impeachment for sexual shenanigans but not for taking America into an illegal, immoral war? What kind of justice is that? We have become as indifferent to the policies of our government as the Germans did during the Nazi nightmare. Impeachment is the least we should demand form this administration. Shame on us.
conyers said yesterday impeachment is under way that the house takes this very serius to up hold the constatution we should demand inditement of miss poloisy for odstrucktion of justice then they could work around her she is as gilty as bush and chaney she is very afraid she will be found out in the up coming hearings that is why she keep tableing impeachment
While I have definite opinions, I beleive the rule of law should be faced on facts, without an x. If there were violations of law, an impeachment motion may be in order. Bear in mind impeachment does not necessarily mean the removal from office any more than an indictment or arrest means automatic conviction. Readers are advised to go to their libraries and check out The Corrupt Judge to see just what is involved here. While I do not carry any brief for Bush & Co, I do recall one quotation from a visit to the Massachusetts State House in my youth. There was a quotation from John Locke, "Where law ends, tyranny begins." In repsa loquitor. JDR
