President Barack Obama will deliver his farewell address from Chicago at 9 p.m. ET tonight.
The Network for Progress is hosting a watch party entitled the “2017 Kickoff Progress Party,” which will include a discussion about the “return of ‘Yes We Can’ vision for the Democratic Party.”
The party starts at 6:30 p.m. at Local 16 (1602 16th St. NW) and goes until 9:30 p.m.
Women want Trump’s support for museum
Rep. Carolyn Maloney, D-N.Y., has been pushing for a national women’s museum in D.C. and on Monday, she held a news conference in Manhattan to urge President-elect Donald Trump to support the project. She was joined by female leaders in the city, including Emily K. Rafferty, former Metropolitan Museum of Art president. The event was sponsored by The Common Good organization. The museum would be under the auspices of the Smithsonian Institution.
Susan T. Grundmann has been appointed executive director of the Congressional Office of Compliance. She was previously the chairwoman of the U.S. Merit Systems Protection Board.
