Karen Bass Wants Mental Health Professionals to Evaluate Trump

Calif. Democrat suspects GOP nominee has Narcissistic Personality Disorder

Nurse cum three-term lawmaker Karen Bass has launched an online petition to have Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump’s head examined.

“We deserve to have the greatest understanding of Mr. Trump’s mental health status before we head to the polls on November 4th, 2016,” the California Democrat writes in her #DiagnoseTrump campaign .

Questioning Trump’s competency has become the political sport of the day.

President Barack Obama can’t stop telling the country how dangerous it would be to place the newly minted Republican standard-bearer in power. Shell-shocked conservatives are actively joining the Hillary Clinton camp , billing the Democratic presidential nominee as a more patriotic choice than the loose cannon at the top of their own ticket.

For her part, Bass implores mental health professionals to pressure the GOP into conducting a full psychological evaluation of Trump and releasing the results before Election Day. At press time, Bass’ proposal had garnered nearly a third of the 100 signatures required to trigger the next phase of engagement.

In making her case Bass references the nine criteria used to identify someone with Narcissistic Personality Disorder — as outlined by the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders — pairing each indicator with examples of self-congratulatory, stream-of-conscious musings Trump has uttered over the past few decades.

Author Daniel Wagner made a similar prognosis , albeit an amateur one, earlier this week.

“A person should certainly not be voted into office knowing in advance that he was cognition impairment, affectivity, abysmal interpersonal skills, or impulsivity,” Wagner wrote in The Huffington Post. “Let us hope that the majority of American voters are smart enough not to elect Mr. Trump into office.”
