Report: Farenthold to Pay Back Money for Sexual Harassment Settlement

Texas Rep. Blake Farentholdtold a local news outlet he would pay the government back for a settlement for sexual harassment claim.

The Republican lawmaker told KRIS 6 News that was doing so even though the Office of Congressional Ethics cleared him of any wrongdoing.

A second woman has accused Sen. Al Franken of inappropriate contact with her. The alleged incident took place in 2010, when the Minnesota Democrat was in his second year as a senator.

It is the first such accusation of inappropriate touching against Franken as a sitting senator.

But James has been much more than a campaign manager and social media director: She has also served as Brat’s chief troll-slayer on Facebook, firing back at the Virginia Republican’s haters with the kind of snark and sneer you might expect from anonymous “eggs” on Twitter.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said Monday he believes the women accusing Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore of inappropriate sexual conduct, and that Moore should step aside as the Republican nominee.

Speaking at a press conference in Louisville, Kentucky, about a tax overhaul, McConnell was asked if he believed Moore’s accusers.

As Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul’s neighbor pleaded not guilty to charges of assaulting the senator on Thursday, Paul is cryptically deepening the mystery around the incident.

Rene Boucher was charged with misdemeanor fourth-degree assault in Bowling Green, Kentucky, The Associated Press reported. He could face up to a year in jail if convicted.

Rep. Ami Bera’s father has been released from federal prison seven weeks before the end of his full sentence of a year and a day.

Babulal Bera was given credit for good behavior, a spokeswoman for the federal Bureau of Prisons told The Associated Press, but will still check in with a probation officer for three years.
