Updated, 11:05 a.m. | What happens when a creative young staffer with a monotonous job and hours to kill takes to Instagram? A hilarious meditation on Hill life told through the language of our time: memes.

Hungover mornings, angry constituents, awkward interactions and career anxiety are all being meticulously documented by a group of meme accounts taking over Capitol Hill. There’s one for almost every position in a congressional office — staff assistant, legislative correspondent, press secretary, communications director and scheduler. Even campaign fundraisers and committee staffers get a nod.

At the end of the episode, Perry, model Amber Rose and actress Terra Jole were all in jeopardy of being axed.

In a campaign in which little is surprising anymore, Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump will make a surprise visit to Mexico on Wednesday before he makes a speech on immigration in Arizona.

Trump is to meet with Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto, whom Trump says initiated the meeting. In June, Nieto compared Trump to Adolf Hitler and Benito Mussolini.

John Noonan, a former national security adviser to 2012 Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney and 2016 GOP contender Jeb Bush, Wednesday, broke down the many reasons current party standard-bearer Donald Trump should not be allowed anywhere near the nuclear arsenal.  

MSNBC's Joe Scarborough revealed that Trump had thrice asked during a high-level policy briefing several months ago why the U.S. couldn’t use nuclear weapons.

Trend watchers noticed a spike in online searches about voter registration even before Khizr Khan left the stage after his passionate rebuke of Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump during Thursday's last night of the Democratic National Convention.  

"Tonight we are honored to stand here as parents of Capt. Humayun Kahn and as patriotic American Muslims," the Pakistani immigrant said in a loving tribute to his son, an Army captain killed while serving in Iraq.
